Billy Miner Alehouse22355 River Road, Maple Ridge
Troubled Taphouse
Submitted Friday, January 16, 2015 - 7:06am [Dine in]

In recent visits to the Billy Miner with friends , we have noticed the food is on a steep decline. The burger patties are par cooked from frozen, the pizza has not been prepared properly leaving a raw doughy center, and toppings were far from fresh. Really a unmistakable miss in the food department. Being met with sticky tables in the pub is bad on all levels, last visit we saw a server wiping tables with a filthy rag. Service is brisk at best where it seems it's a real chore to take customers orders. At risk of becoming a frozen fastfood outlet, the manager(s) should take stake in the mess of a pub it's become.

Amazingly Adequate Sandwiches!
Submitted Wednesday, December 31, 2014 - 4:44am [Take-out]

Once entering the deli , you are welcomed by the unabashed sandwich slinger. He is a high speed slicing machine building multiple sandwiches by his liking. No menu needed just meat and good cheeses on fresh rolls. Basic but decent, the shop is a local staple. Where quantity for cost is the norm, the deli is always steady. Inside is a dusty, messy affair where takeout is the sole option. Cash rules at this shop , you will leave with enough sustenance to carry on with your day with amazingly adequate flavour!

Chinese Palace22528 Lougheed Hwy, Maple Ridge
Tasty Chinese Fare to be Had
Submitted Wednesday, December 31, 2014 - 4:01am [Dine in]

When entering the restaurant you are greeted by friendly hosts. There are a wide variety of choices to choose from. The cuisine here is tasty indeed, with fresh ingredients being the catalyst for flavours. Excellent homemade sauces propel meat/seafood dishes to new heights. Rice and noodle dishes are prepared with care, and soups are flavorful. This restaurant has what it takes to provide a nice chinese feast. Inside the decor is a nice relaxed setting to enjoy a meal.

Quality has dropped for the worse!
Submitted Wednesday, December 10, 2014 - 4:51pm [Dine in]

At Enjoy Palace the food has been slipping in the quality department. Currently they offer off smelling pork dishes and very unhygenic food service practices. Definately not worth the venture for low quality ingredients and unsanitary conditions. A shame that the owner has lost his standards. There was a time when foods here were fresh.

Where mediocre is the standard
Submitted Thursday, November 6, 2014 - 4:46pm [Dine in]

Once you enter the pub , you are bombarded by a sports pub motif , every wall is festooned with flat screen tv's. In the food department consistency lacks , where there is a lack of quality control. With this in mind the food is in need of help, uninspired burgers laden in sauce on stale rolls; breaded calamari that seconds as rubber bands and pasta dishes that are a thick gloopy mess. The service rates from great to non existent. Alot of work is needed to make this location succeed.

The Price is what we deem is right!
Submitted Thursday, July 18, 2013 - 9:05pm [Take-out]

This establishment, when in regards to food preperation is excellent increasingly plummets with their nothing short of deplorable customer billing is concerned. I was repeadedly overcharged without any logical regard to menu price. This is unacceptable considering this is a licenced establishment. Poor concession attempts to rectify the numerous ordering situations, really left a regular customer wondering why buy anymore from these people, the acerbic concensus is do not deal with these people unless you are obliged to be grossly overcharged!

Real Italian Pizza
Submitted Thursday, September 6, 2012 - 1:36pm [Dine in]

Recommended by a former coworker. This shop is where it's at for thin crust crunch, pull chew pizza. That's right, texture in the cooked dough, along with a tasty tomato sauce and premium toppings make this pie a tasty treat. The lasagna is also very flavorful. A rare thing to get a pizza this good around. Inside is average pizza joint vibe. The food is the star attraction, good stuff.

My tastebuds are alive!
Submitted Thursday, September 6, 2012 - 1:10pm [Dine in]

Sagres restaurant is a gem of a place to eat. Again, I can't stress this point enough locally owned shops are where it's at. Family run, this business thrives on delivering tasty portuguese food, with a comfortable setting. The carne allejana is out of this world. Pork, shellfish, potatoe yum. The sauce is just incredible. I have yet to try the house pallea, you must call in the order in advance. It is a house specialty. The servers are friendly and helpful with menu choices. Ever since I had a birthday dinner here, I've been thoroughly impressed. Don't hesitate to sample this establishments tasty fare.Being an astute diner, finding places like this that do things right is reason enough to try out different places to eat, cheers!

Pizza problems
Submitted Tuesday, March 22, 2011 - 2:25am [Dine in]

The kind folks at soprano's try,but cannot produce quality pizza pie. I can say this empirically , because of all the pizza i have eaten over north america. The dough has no texture, sauce is soury ,and toppings are mediocre. Not what I was looking for.Quality of meats must improve also, the souvlaki dinner was like eating shoe leather, all in all not very good eating,or value.

Cook the pizza more plz
Submitted Wednesday, March 16, 2011 - 1:26am [Dine in]

Always at jims the pizza isnt cooked enough. The crust when cooked properly, i.e ...EVA's is awesome . Dry cured pepperoni would be a major improvement over the cheap bologna style pepperoni,it ruins otherwise a great pie.The cheese blend needs less edam, too buttery and more mozza.Simple fix , but care and attention to quality must always be paid.
