I have been here a couple of times for lunch. This place have always been quite consistant with the food quality. I really enjoy their Chicken Ceasar Club. The chowders are good. The stews are on a bed of mashed potatoes. Mmmmm..........

The servers there are really nice and cheerful too.

It's nice place to mingle friends over the fondues too.

Well worth the wait!!!!

I just got back from japan about 6 months ago and I feel that this is just like it, GREAT!!!! There is nothing con about it. People were waiting outside the restaurant before it opened and it's exactly how it is in japan.

All the waiters and waitresses are either japanese or can speak japanese. The portions were HUGE!

The price is well worth it for the quality you get.

Little bar where you huddle and slurp your noodle is just like japan. I don't think it could get more authentic than this in Vancouver.

Not the Best, but better than most

This has been one of the better japanese AYCE places. A pretty wide selection and it includes a soft drink.

I think the services is not bad. Waitresses there could maybe have a small smile or two. They did miss a few orders, but that is quite commom with AYCE places with their check list. Not too sure if this place is owned by chinese people, but their waiters and waitresses all spoke chinese to each other.

The value is not cheap, but pretty economical for a big selection, with the robata, sushi and sashimi and dessert.

The place looked pretty clean for an asian restaurant.

This will be a never to return place

This is no longer a 24 hour noodle place.

I had a bowl of spicy beef noodle soup. It was $7.25 AND it only a small. The large bowl was $8.25. My friend only had a large beef noodle soup, there was the same amount of beef and noodle in his bowl, but just in a larger bowl. The fish cake there is tasteless and the big beef roll is smothered with hoisin sauce, which made it extremely salty.

It is waitered by a bunch of young people, who doesn't have much of a personality and don't speak a lot of English.

This place is overpriced for the horrible food they service.

One of the better all you can eat places
Submitted Wednesday, November 19, 2008 - 12:10pm [Dine in]

Definatly one of the better ones I've tried.

The deluxe menu was not really different from the "lite dinner" menu. Almost the same selection, with an exception of a couple of items. So, it would be a preference if you would want the extra items. The sushi was good, the chopped scallop cone was full of chopped scallop. The chicken karage was really good too.

I thought the service wasn't bad at all. They had mistakenly entered in the wrong quantity of our order, but they were quite pleasant about it. The lady that was serving us was really nice and cheerful.

The value was cheaper than most all you can eat places I have been to. $19.95 for the regular menu and $22.95 for the deluxe. We chose the regular menu and it was quite extensive for me already. There was more menu on the sheet that you order than the meny they give you too.

I have been here a couple of times and my favorite menu item is the Stewed Beef on rice. They have taiwanese snacks that are quite delightful too.

I have tried the deep fried fish sticks, the deep fried pork and even their pork dumplings. It was all pretty outstanding. The bubble tea there was really good too. I have tried their many flavours of green tea, their fresh fruit drink, as well as their slushes. I haven't had anything here that I didn't like yet.

Service here was quite outstanding. Despite the language barrier with some of them, they still gave great customer service.

The value was quite average. Quite economical.

The anbiance there was very nice. They have just renovated not too long ago and migrated to the store next door. So now, the waits are not as long.

The first time I was there, I tried thier hot & sour soup and it was outstanding. Hot to a point that my tongue felt numb afterwards. I went again a couple of days ago, the soup wasn't as hot. It was still very good though.

Thier beef roll was very good and the deep fried red bean pastry was outstanding too. The drunken chicken was uniquely served and very juicy.

The lady (server/waitress/cashier) was very pleasant, great customer service, great smile.

The price was not cheap, but pretty reasonable for such good food.

The restaurant was quite small and cozy. The style was just like a regular asian restaurant. No complaints, as it was very clean.

I haven't tried a lot of all you can eat sushi places, but this is one of the better ones.

The food there was served quite quickly, and service was surprising quite good. Waiters and waitress' were quite well mannered.

Value is not cheap, but no considered expensive compared other all you can eat places.

Ambiance is just a regular asian restaurant. A little bit better than cafeteria style.

Food is not great quality, but for the price you pay, I think it is very decent. And the variety of the deluxe menu is quite extensive. Their beef tataki is very fresh. I would definately go back.

I absolutely love this place. I think it's a very cute little dessert joint for a neat cozy feeling.

I had a Chocolate Pudding Cake and a mocha and they were both very outstanding. The cake was warm with a chocolate sauce and a little of whipping cream on the side. It was to die for.

Not too sure if the server there is the owner, but he's there everytime that I've been there. Wonderful man and very well mannered too.

In the past, I have had their apple crumble, that's very good too!!

Yum, yum, yum all around!!!!

Typical chinese restaurant.......rude.
Submitted Monday, November 10, 2008 - 11:39am [Dine in]

I have only been there for dim sum. I think the food is very good compaired to some dim sum restaurants in the same area.

The ambiance is a typical chinese restaurant, which is no surprise, when people are enjoying each others company and catching up with each other.

The price there is not cheap as some, but not considered expensive for good dim sum.

However, the service there sucked. I have been there several times. After awhile, I realized I should call ahead to make reservations. When I got there, I had to wait. I told the lady that I had reservations, she said "do you see the people out here, they all have reservations and they are all waiting". Then why do I have to make reservations. Another time, I called for a reservation, she asked me (the same lady) how many? I said four. She told me that I should just show up and take a number, with a very rude tone of voice. What kind of customer service is that?

I can wait, but does she have to be rude????

I have tried it a couple of times and I think I have given it enough tries. The customer service is absolutely unacceptable.

Good sushi for a good price
Submitted Monday, November 10, 2008 - 10:39am [Dine in]

This use to be one of my favorite sushi places. However, it seems like there is always a wait, so I usually order take out now.

Overall, I think the food is decent for the price. The portions are very generous. Lately, the portions are getting smaller though.

The tempura is fairly good. I usually get the party trays, and I find that the variety and the price is awesome.

For a quick and decent sushi, I would definately recommend this place.

Anatoli Souvlaki5 Lonsdale Ave, North Vancouver
No consistancy and very overpriced!!!!
Submitted Thursday, November 6, 2008 - 4:06pm [Dine in]

I have been going to Anatoli's for the past 10 years for lunch. The food there is always delicious. However, the prices are getting higher and higher, but the dishes are getting smaller and smaller.

I use to get a lot of rice and a potatoe with my souvlaki. This meal use to fill me up. Now....there's not potatoe and a handful of rice. I pay for $13 lunch with one skewer of meat, a small salad, four little wedges of pita bread and barely a handful of rice.

I do admit that that tzaziki there is pretty amazing, but that doesn't really justify paying so much money for a little meal. And I don't get full for a $13 meal, plus tip, it would be around $16.

I think that this is a place for decent food, if you are looking for a chinese style fast food place.

Overall, I think the food here is quite good and economical, but no other expectations. The service is quite average, but for a 24 hour joint, I think this is one of my first picks, if I'm looking for a late night asian snack. Although they do have a canadian menu of burger, fries and sandwhiches.

Very poor all around
Submitted Wednesday, October 22, 2008 - 11:42am [Dine in]

I was there for lunch a couple of times. I know, I should not be going back if it wasn't good. However, it use to be pretty good, I thought it was just that one time, so I go back. Not again will I ever go back there.

I had noodle in soup there for dinner one time. The soup was luke warm and the noodles were cold.

The second time I was there for lunch, I had a mixed noodle. The sauce was stale. It was very apparent, as I had ask the rest of the people on my table to taste it, so I know it wasn't me. I had told the boss lady, she took it away, but it wasn't taken off my bill. She said because I had taken a bite, so technically, I ate it. We also had a curry fish ball and it had a piece of hair in it.

One of my friends had congee and it took FOREVER!!! The entire table had finished their food and congee still wasn't served. When we asked the waiter a couple of times, then it finally came. However, no apology whatsoever!!!

I would never recommend this place.

I had been there a couple of times. It seems like the quality of the food is getter worse. Overall, it's an okay place.

I tried out their uni there. It was not fresh, and there was a weird taste to it. Otherwise, everything else was pretty good. No complaintes for the price, I guess.

The service there was not all that great. I think it's because they are quite busy, and there are not a lot of waiters for the service.

I picked this from the list of "Taste of Yaletown" list. I thought the food was really good. I had the Onion Soup, the bread dried out the soup a little bit, but overall, it was very good French Onion Soup. The main course of pan seared scallops with the risotto was very tasty.

The dessert, gingerbread pudding with pumpkin and ginger gelato, was absolutely amazing (hands down). The waiter (very wonderful man) said it had been in a couple of articles in the paper, it is so fabulous!!!

I was here for dinner on the weekend. This was a wonderful place for Uni Sashimi. It's cheaper than most places and IT'S FRESH!!!

There not much people there due to the Cambie Street construction, but everything there is fresh and good. I think the price there is quite reasonable too.

This is definately one of my favorite now.
