Not a tourist trap...
Submitted Saturday, February 4, 2006 - 6:35pm [Dine in]

Went here last night for Dine out Vancouver.

I ordered the Fire Roasted Prawn Cocktail to start, followed by the Blackened Salmon. The Salmon just melted in my mouth, it was amazing! Finished off the meal with the white chocolate mint cheeesecake which unfortunately was just ok.

The service was impeccable, even though it was really busy! Water glasses filled without asking, food delivered in a timely fashion (20 min for the entree) & extremely friendly service.

The ambiance is lovely...views of the 5 sails & North Van.

I loved it & will definitely return!

Good food...

I work in the area & have been here for lunch only.

The staff are super friendly, outgoing and are always attentive to your every need. I haven't frequented a lot of Greek restaurants, but I would have to say this is pretty good! I ordered the Chicken Souvlaki lunch combo special (chicken skewers, greek salad, roasted potato & pita bread) all for the low price of $7.95! It was excellent. The chicken was so tender & juicy.

If you're in the area, check it out!

It was just OK
Submitted Thursday, January 26, 2006 - 11:25pm [Dine in]

Went here for dinner tonight after friends suggested it.

I was not overly impressed with the food. The won-ton soup is average, the chicken in black bean sauce was not good (chicken was very fatty & tasted weird & there was way too much sauce on it.) My partner ordered the honey ginger beef which was really good. We also ordered potstickers....again, they were just average. No wow factor whatsoever.

The service is very good. It's almost like they can read your mind!

Typical ambiance for a Chinese food restaurant.

What a change!
Submitted Sunday, January 22, 2006 - 6:00pm [Dine in]

I used to come here when it was the Rose & Thorn....WOW, it's changed! I heard their outdoor courtyard patio is great on a summer day.

I had a gift card for here so we decided to try it out last weekend. It was pretty quiet as it was late afternoon on a Sunday. I didn't mind...you usually get faster service. The waiter/bartender was very friendly & helpful with the menu.

The food was good (I had the Hawaiian pizza with a twist)...I didn't bother asking what the twist was as I thought "how bad can it be?" Well it wasn't awful, but I'm not a big fan of banana peppers either. My partner ordered the Ham & Gouda sandwich & loved it.

Good food, friendly service.....We'll be back!

Great place for a quick lunch...Good Prices!

Myself and a co-worker just tried this cafe for lunch. It's nestled in an industrial work area and is frequented by surrounding businesses. When we arrived, we were the only ones in the cafe. Then people just kept coming in, one after the other for take out and eat in.

I ordered the Bacon Cheeseburger with Fries for $6.95. It wasn't too bad, but can you expect a great burger from a cafe that mainly caters sandwiches, soup and dessert? My co-worker ordered the special: 4 Cheese Pasta with caesar salad and garlic toast for $6.95 and thought it was really good. The service is fantastic, super friendly and fast!

I'll be back to try the sandwiches and dessert!

One of a kind...
Submitted Thursday, January 19, 2006 - 12:36am [Dine in]

I first discovered Pisces while shopping in the Terra Nova Plaza.

What a gem!

The halibut & chips are 'melt in your mouth' good. It's not overloaded with batter like most restaurants. The coleslaw & fresh cut fries are delicious!! They also cater to the "not so sea firendly" customer & serve limited Indian food (which I've been told is very good)

The owner/operators are wonderful & super friendly people.

I highly recomment dine in or take out...you will not be disappointed!

OK for lunch...
Submitted Wednesday, January 18, 2006 - 3:03pm [Dine in]

I have been here a few times, but neverly overly enjoyed myself due to how busy it can get. You must arrive early to get a table or you'll be standing all night! I usually only go for a few drinks, but the one time I ate there it was good. I had some sort of artichoke dip & it was tasty.

The service isn't that great especially when it's busy. If you don't have a table, expect to get your own drink at the bar.

I would only recommend this place for lunch or an early dinner unless you like the super young over-crowded party scene.

Submitted Tuesday, January 17, 2006 - 9:52pm [Dine in]

I was not impressed with this place at all. It was recommended to us by a friend of a friend.

The food as said in a previous review is extremely ordinary. I ordered a salad w/dressing that may very well been water. My friend ordered the veal which was so chewy & nasty.

Not once did the waitress ask how our meal was or if we needed drinks. Not once! The service was AWFUL. Our waitress was more concerned with entertaining her friends than taking care of us. It was soooo busy in there, how can you justify chatting it up with your buddies? It was ridiculous.....my friend got so pissed, she yelled "Hello...remember us? Can we have our bill please?" It was pretty funny considering it was well deserved.

I will not be returning.

This place reminds me of the Foggy Dew but way bigger. I'm not sure what it was like years ago (I've heard it was a bit of a rough place), but not anymore. It's alway busy on weekends & now I know why!

The food is delicious & very reasonably priced. Service is always fast & friendly.

Get there early to get a seat...this place fills up fast!

I have been to this pub a few times with friends for some casual drinking and snacking.

The price is right, sometimes they have live bands coming in to perform at night.

The atmosphere, people, and food are all pretty good!

Great outdoor patio
Submitted Tuesday, January 17, 2006 - 3:17pm [Dine in]

This restaurant is located at the Country Meadows Golf Course. I have been here for lunch on a number of occassions because it is close to work.

The food is good, but nothing spectacular... meaning I have never come out bragging about it. The meal portions and price are reasonable.

The service is sometimes hit & miss. They seem to have a lot of people working the floor, but service can still be slow on occasion.

I recommend going in the summer when their spectacular outdoor patio is open. Looking out onto the greens on a warm summer day is the best!

This used to be a favorite when I worked at the airport. Wing Wednesday's was something to look forward to.

The ambiance is fantastic with a great view of the floatplanes taking off right outside.

The service is good, but can be off sometimes when they are really busy...and trust me, this place gets packed!

Check it out, you won't be disappointed!

I really enjoyed this place when I lived in New West.

We used to go almost every weekend for the Garlic Prawns.....Oh my, oh my, oh my were they good! I don't remember eating anything else on the menu as it has been a few years, but I'm gonna go ahead & give it a 3 all around!

I really need to go back & check this place out again!

Great Pizza
Submitted Monday, January 16, 2006 - 5:32pm [Dine in]

I've been ordering from Bella's for years!

They make great pizza. Unfortunately it's not 2 for 1, but that's not always a bad thing.

The freshness and quality of the ingredients is what make this pizza. And I love the crust.

Even though I rated ambiance a 4, it's not...but that's because it's delivery or take out.

Can you ever go wrong when dining at the Keg? I think not. I get a warm fuzzy feeling each and every time I visit. I have never been disappointed.

The service is always fantastic, the wait staff are on key and dang, that food is irresistable! I love going in on a Friday after work, ordering a few drinks while perusing the menu. The staff do not pressure you to hurry up!

I love it, love it, love it!

We had a coupon from the Entertainment book so decided to give this place a try.

It took us a while to find the restaurant as it's hidden at the back of the hotel through a maze of hallways. Arrived & was promptly seated. The place had a funky smell, but we still chose to stay.

The appetizer menu was not very lengthy or appealing & mainly consisted of seafood. There was a selection of approx 8 entrees. I ordered the Baseball Sirlion w/wasabi mashed potatoes & veggies. The sirloin was not the best (cheap cut). My boyfriend ordered the Mediterranean Chicken Roulade & really enjoyed it. The presentation of the food was 5 star. It looked amazing & we even took a picture of it!

Service was just OK (the waiter seemed nervous) Alcohol was a little pricey...3 Corona's cost $20!!!! - - ouch!

The best part about both our meals were the wasabi mashed potatoes....YUM YUM! We might go back if we have another coupon.

I didn't feel we would have had our money's worth if we paid full price.

Went here for a small work party. I loved the ambiance....nice warm colors & an all around friendly atmosphere.

The service was fantastic. Even though the patio was closed the hostess was so nice...she let us smoke outside on the covered patio & turned on the heaters for us! We didn't even have to ask.

The food was great & the drinks were just as good (especially the martini's).

This place is a keeper!

I've been here more than a few times & always leave happy!

Last time I went I ordered the Champagne Salmon entree....WOW, it just melted in my mouth. It was the best salmon I have tried. My friend ordered the Butternut Squash tortellini & said that it was excellent.

The best part about Subeez is in the summer when the patio is open.

I have to agree with some of the other reviews. Service is a nightmare here. We stood there for 10 min before anyone acknowleged us. Waited another 1/2 for the waitress to take our order. Received the food in a timely fashion, but I personally did not like it. I can make a sandwich a heck of a lot better than that.
