This restaurant serves authentic sushi all the time. I can taste some sushi that I seldom seen elsewhere in this restaurant. The quality is always an A+. I love their Saba, it tastes so fresh, so different, just melt in your mouth. The seafood salad is also one of my favorite dish, the dressing is one of a kind because the chef made it by himself. When I go there, I like to sit in the sushi bar and enjoy whatever the chef give to me. The price is on the high side but still reasonable. If you want a real adventure on sushi, this restaurant is a must. But stay away from the cook food, even though they taste good, the size are pretty small. If you are a raw fish(sushi) lover, this restaurant is recommanded.

I took my sister who came to visit from Calgary to Shota in August. The food was very disappointing, and the service is lousy. I choose this restaurant because I heard the downtown Shota was really good. Since we already in Richmond area, I decided to give it a try. We didn't go for the all you can eat. We chose what we like from the menu, and found the quality of food doesn't worth the price we paid. The price is very expensive and the sushi has nothing but rice, especially the maki roll. Even some of the sushi place in a food court are better than that. My sister ordered a green tea sorbet and it took more than 3 reminder and 45 mins. before it came. The service was bad too. We live in Coquitlam, and thinking Richmond has a reputation having good restaurant. We were so wrong! We have so many Japanese restaurants in Tri-City are much better with excellent qualities. I already told all my friends about the bad experience I had in Shota, Richmond. I definitely wouldn't recommand it to anyone.
