Unfortunately, the rocky point cafe where we were originally going was closed, so my friend decided sushi was a good bet (i like sushi, just didn't know the area).
For 6 bucks a dynamite roll, you would think it would be big, or the very least delicious and the place would have a decent wine list. We ordered ebi gyoza, ebi mayo, salmon sashimi, and a dynamite roll each. My friend also ordered a pop (in a glass bottle) and 4 pieces of nigiri.
The ebi mayo was pretty good, but its hard to screw up something fried. the gyoza sounded good but were gross, they sprayed out water or something when you chewed into them. The prawns were probably frozen and defrosted through soaking in water before being put in the gyoza. The shell tasted like tortilla..... very chewy. The dynamite had way too much mayo or old avocado, something to make it too creamy. With the wild rice (which could be a nice touch, but wasn't in this case) it just all fell apart and tasted like a mess. The sashimi was OK and probably the only decent part. slightly room temperature.
Our bill came to 52 bucks no tip, no drinks. w-t-f
The service was good though, and the ambiance was nice. Would never ever come back here.
