Forget about the decor and just go for the food

The decor is just so-so but the food... OMG! It's incredible! We went there twice now and both times had outstanding food. The service was OK. I think the lady that serve us the first time is very new and probably part of the family, helping out kinda thing. Second time, service was much better.

I belong to a neighborhood community newsletter. After reading from our neighbors about how wonderful this place is, a bunch of my friends and I decided to try it on a Saturday night.

I was not disappointed! The food was fantastic. The portions were a very good size. We had ordered mussels, ahi tuna, salmon wellington, special of the day- halibut and a New York steak with prawns.

The sauce they used on the halibut and ahi tuna was very nice, white wine with dill. It wasn't overly heavy. Everything was cooked just right. The portion of the mussels was really big! I couldn't eat anything after that. The salmon wellington's crust was very flaky. The New York steak was HUGH! The peppercorn sauce was really nice with it.

The ambiance was okay. It's nothing too fancy and the wallpaper could've been replaced. But the food speaks for itself.

Service was average. The server was an older gentleman. He was attentive but didn't give us a wine list until I asked. And he didn't know if they had hot chocolate.

Overall, I would go back to this again. Maybe not for a romantic night out but definitely a get together with friends or a birthday dinner.

I'm so proud to have this in my neighbourhood!

My friends and I went there for dinner last night. I was so impressive by the place, I had to register here and tell everyone about it.

For starters, all of us shared the pate and escargot. At first, we weren't sure about the food. The escargot could've used a bit more salt. The pate is fresh and mildly sweet.

For the main course, I had the duck confit. My other friends had the daily special (lamb shoulder and line caught ling cod). My bf had the tenderloin with shallot red wine jus. All of the dishes were outstanding! The duck just melt in your mouth. My bf's tenderloin was very flavourful. The sauces that accompany our dishes were just to die for! I love every bite of it. The ling cod was cooked to the right amount, not dry and not over-cooked. The lamb was spicy and what my friend would call a "man's dish". Very hearty. The servings were just in the right amount that I can stuff my face with desert at the end!

For that, we all shared a creme brulee and a chocolate mousse. I have to say, that is the BEST creme brulee I've ever had!!

The decor was very cosy. I would've prefer it to be a bit brighter. I couldn't see what I was eating. But my friend thought that was perfect for her (esp. for her first try at escargot). Overall, I thought it was solid. I hope this restaurant is here to stay 'cos I'll be back for sure.

Oh! And DO make reservation. They were packed, even at the bar.
