Pumphouse Taproom6031 Blundell Rd, Richmond
New Look and Syle = Great Experience
Submitted Friday, July 31, 2009 - 3:26pm [Dine in]

Went to the Pumphouse for the first time in many years. The new renovations and menu are great. tha place looks and feels fantastic - nice dark tones and lotes of wood, It feels like an upscale bar or gastro pub. The menu is notches above the typical neighbourhood pub fare. Yes there are wings and fries and burgers, etc but also great salads, wild BC Salmon, steaks, pastas, pizza, interesting appies, etc. The food we had was very good and well priced for what you get. There is also a decent selection of wines and beer. My only gripe would be that there is no Guiness on tap. Definitely going back again as this is a great place for a casual meal.

Steveston Pizza Co.3400 Moncton Street, #100, Richmond
Best pizza in Richmond

Been ordering here for a while.

Pros - Excellent tasting pizza, thin crust, quality/premium ingredients, great salads and pastas
Cons - no delivery, most expensive pizza in the city

OK, so it's expensive, but you do get what you pay for here. I usually order the more simple preparations as the crust holds up better with less toppings.

I do wish they would start delivery again.

Little Mexico Cantina3131 Chatham St., #150, Richmond
Great spot for appies

We love this place. If your goal is margaritas and nachos, don't look anywhere else, as this is the place to go. Fresh squeezed lime margaritas at a great price. The nachos are heaped with refried beans, guacomole and a mountain of cheese. Also look for the dry pork ribs as these are better than any I've ever had in any pub.

Another hint, ask for the cornbread - its not on the menu and its not available every night but when it is you won't be dissapointed.

The main courses are decent and somewhat typical of most mexican restaurants, however its the appies we come for. If you are in the mood for a drink and some snacks, skip the pub and head to the Cantina.

Good Start

Finally tried the tasting room in Steveston hoping for a great "go to" place to enjoy some wine and charcuterie. We had a decent experience - but were not blown away. Furthermore, the prices were a little too high for Steveston and selections were not as broad as one might hope for in both the wines and the selection of meats and cheeses.

Housemade soups were very good. Meat and cheese products are very good, however limited in selection. Server/owner was very welcoming but not as knowledgeable about the products being served (especially wine) as one would hope for in a place where this is the sole focus.

Hopefully will improve with time as Steveston needs more of this type of concept - just executed better.
