We were very impressed with the whole dining experience at Bishops restaurant. They looked after you from the time you arrived to the time you left their restaurant service was amazing and the food was perfect. They called a taxi and even opened the taxi door for us. Very very classy act

This place was awesome. Downstairs you can wait with a drink in a huge waiting room its' alike a lounge downstairs, their tropical drinks were really good for an asian place, and upstairs they seat you in a u-shape. You really get to interact with other customers and the cooks, and even though it's really expensive its' so worth it. All the food is good and they give you a lot of it. Not everday you go to a restaurant and have the food cooked right in front of you. They put on a nice little show.

modern Japanese
Submitted Thursday, August 19, 2010 - 10:18pm [Dine in]

Bonqula is a modern Japanese family restaurant serving attentive and quality food. Similar to HK style cafe, but serving Japanese style cuisine. Both lunch and dinner features set courses ranging from $10-20. There is more traditional Japanese teishoku sets featuring staple items such tonkatsu, grilled salmon, and unagi don. All the items are well executed and definitely worth the small premium compared to your average Japanese place. For me, what really makes me come back are the sandwichs, (get the tonkatsu sandwich) which are fantastic. The best aspect of is the homemade bread they make, which is wonderful and really sets it apart from its competitors. One of the best sandwiches I have had in city. Service may be a bit slow due to being short staffed but this place is meant to be enjoyed at a leisurely pace.

Best earls indeed

I ate alone at the bar last evening at the Earl's in Yaletown. First immpressions were suprise at the lovely room. Calling my chair a bar stool wouldl be doing it a disservice. My chair was massive and comfortable.

I was quickly attended to. I ordered the Thai green curry. I've been all over South-East Asia many times. This actually tasted like a true Thai curry. It was satisfying. I drank a glass of Quail's Gate Pinot Noir. Seven ounces of quality wine for ten dollars is one of several reasons I might go back again to this location in the group.
