Great prices, good food, great specials!
Submitted Thursday, November 25, 2010 - 7:24pm [Dine in]

Great place! My boyfriend and I come here every Friday for date night, because we can afford to with this place! For the two of us...with no alcohol...the bill was $20. I had a chicken club sandwich with caesar salad and roasted potatoes for $6.95 and he had steak and prawns for $10.95. They give roasted potatoes instead of french fries...thank god! How can you go wrong? They make all of their dresses fresh, from scratch and their salsa is homemade and honestly, the best salsa I've ever had. Oh yah, and amazing caesar salad dressing. Yumm. Wish I knew what their secret is. They have nice flat screen tv's, so you can what the hockey or football game. Nice servers...prompt. They actually forgot about our appetizer and they ended up giving us one of our main entrees free. Pretty nice, considering most places and apologize and ask if you still want it. Monday thru Thursday they have insane dinner specials...most entrees for 7.95 or so. Friday nights are ALWAYS busy. Everytime I'm there, it's busy...the owner certainly knows business....good food, great prices = busy restaurant. Clever!!!

Can't talk enough about NY Grill.

Food is wonderful, LACKS service
Submitted Saturday, August 7, 2010 - 5:50pm [Dine in]

I have heard so many rage reviews about this place so my boyfriend and I decided to try it. We got a seat right away on the patio, which was great. Food was authentic Mexican - it was wonderful. Except the service was soooo excrutiatingly slow that I need to forget about the whole experience and try again. It left such a bad taste in my mouth - and was soo disappointed with the fact that we've heard such great things. We waited 35 minutes until our drinks came, and no, I'm not exaggerating. The worst part of all, they brought my boyfriends beer over, and forgot my diet coke. We were ready to order and our waiter was no where to be found. I got up and asked for a waiter...15 minutes later they took our order. I asked again, for my diet coke. Didn't get it....I had to walk up and get it myself when my meal came, 40 minutes later. It wasn't even busy. At this point, I was soooo irritated, I didn't get to enjoy the food all that much. When it came time to paying our bill, I stood there for 15 minutes while a huge group paid their separate bills. I wanted to scream....almost 2 hours for this whole dinner experience. But, the food, was wonderful. Very very good.

Not the best...
Submitted Monday, November 3, 2008 - 2:59pm [Dine in]

I decided to give this place a try since everytime I'm driving down Davie St, there's always a line up! We were seated in about 15 mins..not too bad, considering! I had the chicken souvlaki, and at the time, it was tasty...lots of rice and potatoes & salad. About half hour later, I was wishing I never ate it, and I'm really sensitive to MSG, and I could tell it was definitely thoughout my meal. My boyfriend had the Kalamari Dinner - he couldn't even eat most of it, the Kalamari was about 3 minutes over-cooked, but we're not the type to complain...we just shut up and ate it, which we shouldn't have - as we both couldn't go into work the next morning due to a slight dose of food poisoning. If you're sensitive to MSG - if you go, make sure you ask for it without, unless you like it of course. Over all, at the time, not bad.

Disgusting
Submitted Tuesday, June 24, 2008 - 11:41am [Dine in]

Boyfriend and I went here for a quick dinner. I've been here before about 3 years ago and had a bad experience so I decided to try it again. I ended up sending the food back and didn't ask for it to be replaced. My boyfriend ended up eating his, which he says Tim Horton's would make a better slow roast beef sandwich. All I asked for was a BLT. And I got warm cheapo bread, half cooked and slimy bacon, and the entire sandwich was dry..no mayo, no cheese, I'm gagging just thinking about it. Never again....

Okay....I guess.
Submitted Thursday, March 20, 2008 - 2:35pm [Dine in]

This was my first time here, but my boyfriend has been many times. We were there at about 6pm on a Friday, just to grab quick bite before the Canucks game. We were the only ones in there. Service was excrutiatingy slow...and yes, we were thee only ones in there.

We ordered Nachos & Yam fries. The yam fries were the best I've had yet...and the garlic mayo that comes with it....oh so good! The nachos on the other hand, I think I counted about 4 shreds of cheese. Very bland, very boring. We got one handful of olives and onions and that's about that. We had to rely on the salsa & sourcream to boost the flavor a bit.

Overall, okay.

Huge Disappointment!
Submitted Thursday, March 20, 2008 - 2:05pm [Dine in]

I have been to Nick's about 3 years ago...and I don't ever remember it being this bad! The only thing I remember was waiting about an hour for a table.

This time around, we walked right in and got a table right away. For it not being really busy, the waitress took FOREVER to bring us our drinks. When they came, we already knew what to order. We could not believe the prices in the menu. I ordered Fetticine Alfredo for $ 21 ! My boyfriend got Ravioli for $ 18. For that price, we were expecting a huge portion, enough to last for lunch and dinner the next day. Nope, not the case. My noodles were swimming in sauce. So so gross. The ravioli was really good, but crazy priced.

By the end of the night, 2 small servings of average pasta, a coke, 2 beers and NO appy's plus tip was $ 65.00.

Crazy.

Bad, just, bad
Submitted Friday, February 8, 2008 - 1:13pm [Dine in]

I've been to the Old Spaghetti Factory in New Westminster and Whistler a couple times before and it seemed like each time, it kept getting worse. But, this Langley experience was the icing on the cake. We were seated right next to the kitchen...and the entire night the chef kept yelling, shouting, on a consistent basis to the point where my boyfriend was shouting at me just so I could hear him. After 18 minutes, we finally got our drinks...and a nice loaf of bread. We ate that up, and was offered more, but we declined. Our food arrived shortly after, cold. I mean, stone, COLD. Not even luke warm. By this point, I got it packaged up so I could go home and heat it up in the microwave. We got our icecream and left. The only good thing about spaghetti factory, is you can eat lots, for cheap. You get bread, salad, main course and icecream from anywhere from 9 - 13 dollars. Other than that, it's terrible.

Don't be in a rush...

I've been to this pub 3 times...and was ignored each time. The service is absolutely terrible. The food was good, no problems there, but if you'd like to eat and have a couple drinks within a few hours, don't bother.

Was referred to this restuarant by a friend, and it was wonderful! Quiet little restaurant, good service and the food was excellent. I recommend the prawns with the hot pepper salt. (It's not actually salt, it this really spicy concoction.) Will definitely go back!

First time here...and it's absolutely DELICIOUS. The Kung Pow chicken and the green beans are to die for....I've never had food so good and will be going back!

Although, for a diet coke, chicken and greenbeans, it was $ 31.00. Kind of expensive.....but for chicken like that....mmmm...

The waitress was friendly, but had a slight rude streak to her. We asked her if we could have the bills separated, and she came back with a look and "I'll try". She did end up separating them, but the comment wasn't called for. Other than that, it's GREAT!

Boring menu....it's okay if you go there once a year, but if you want to catch the Canucks game every now and then, the menu gets boring, fast. Almost everytime I order something at the Langley restaurant, the waitress screws it up....I think they're concentrating more on making sure their super-mini skirt isn't showing too much of anything!

If you like create-your-own stirfry's, this is the place! It's priced by weight, so if you guess your price right, it's free. I came within 15cents once....lots of fun! It's kind of expensive....a regular sized stirfry with a bit of everything in it is about $16. Great selection of meats and veggies and sauces. I'll be going back!
