I like akari

I go to Akari every now and then when I'm craving some Japanese food. Honestly it's not cheap to eat there compared to other Japanese restaurants but I really like this place. I have probably visited over 10 times and was never disappointed. I have gotten udon, donburi, lots of different fish, appetizers and even the deserts at different occasions but I never had a problem with any of the food. I especially enjoyed the Crazy Spicy Tuna Roll and the Banana Spring Roll for desert.

Worse service I have ever received.

Ok. The girlfriend and I went to Figmint for Valentine's day. We had the 5-course prix-fixe menu at 55dollars/person. We had oysters to start. Girlfriend had the Ahi Tuna Sashimi, Seared Scallops, Free Range Chicken Breast, and the Apple Upside Down Cake for desert. I had the Pickled Beet Salad, Braised Beef Short Rib, Marinated Sablefish, and the Espresso Creme Brule. Food was good. BUT! we had the oyster after 30 minutes, and then the first course in 1 hour and 15 minutes, and then the main dish in 2 hours!! My reservation was at 7:30 and we left the restaurant at 10:20 and I am not exaggerating slightest bit. I politely asked why it may be taking so long and the server told me that they are short staffed... wow.. The manager or the owner who's not doing much but walking around in his semi-angry face doesn't offer an apology or anything. And the portions are TINY. Literally it's two pieces of scallops and two pieces of tuna. The main dish wasn't much better. Definitely not going back there EVER! Thanks for ruining our night Figmint!

Not Bad

The service was near perfect. It took a lil bit long for the food to come out but it was actually pretty good food. I'm not sure if it's worth the price I paid for though.. The decor of the restaurant was pretty nice.
