Booster Juice333 Brooksbank Avenue, #120, North Vancouver
Friendly location.
Submitted Monday, September 29, 2008 - 4:12pm [Dine in]

I wanted something healthy to drink, and decided on Booster Juice. They have large menu selection, and found my server to be friendly, fast and let me add my beverage choice.

I ordered the Weh Banana smoothie, and asked if I could remove the pineapple and replace it with strawberry. It was fantastic, filling and refreshing taste. I had it before my workout, got that extra energy and didn't make me fill heavy, like a milkshake and its been a treat to have on a sunny day.

The only thing that is high is the price, just under $6.00, and your extra money can disappear fast. I look at Booster as a treat, and its worth trying when you're in the area.

White Spot333 Brooksbank Ave, #1100, North Vancouver
Inconsistent service.
Submitted Monday, September 29, 2008 - 3:52pm [Dine in]

I went to White Spot last week and got awesome service, my server was friendly, and he knew what he was doing. 5 Star to the gentleman who served last week, and made me think they had made drastic improvements.
Today I went for breakfast, and my server didn't seem to listen, I think she left her ears at home. When she came at my table, I asked for coffee, and she stood there listing the morning menu options and then asked if I wanted coffee. The server today was night & day from last week, she got my order wrong, didn't bring me some dishes and got the impression she needed to be somewhere else than at her job.
On both visit, my food was okay, nothing spectacular, had pancakes today, and it filled me up. When I come here at times, the coffee can be amazing and today it was bitter and acidic in taste. I don't understand how service can be so up and down from week to week, other than this must be a training location.
If I want great customer service, I will stick to the Kamloops location, it never disappoints. Its time for Park & Telford to improve, won't be back anytime soon.

Saltaire235 15th St., West Vancouver
Nice spot to have lunch.
Submitted Sunday, September 21, 2008 - 2:09am [Dine in]

I was doing my errands, when I started to get hungry and stop at Saltaire for lunch.

I was greeted by my friendly server, she was polite, knowledgeable and was helpful with the menu. All throughout my lunch, my server kept checking on my meal, and was very attentive.

I decided to order the black tiger prawns fettuccini provencal - fresh tomato, garlic, basil, white wine, butter. My server was right, it was filling, with amazing taste and lots of prawns, they didn't skimp with this meal. At first I thought I could the entire dish, but I had enough to bring to work for another meal, and it was delicious.

I got to enjoy my lunch beside the large window, facing the water, and its a nice place during the day, and ideal for dates with the view. I liked the cozy and relaxed style to this place.

I recommend this place for special occassions, or to enjoy a great meal.

Dinner was good.
Submitted Tuesday, September 16, 2008 - 10:58pm [Dine in]

I've been going to Anatoli for many years, and have found over the years, the service can either be slow or incredible, with no consistancy. The one thing I have liked over anything else, is the food, and each time I order out or eat there, the food is fantastic, delicious and leaves you wanting more.

Tonight my out of town friend wanted Greek Food, and we came in early for dinner. I had order their roast chicken and my friend had the spanakopita and we thought our dishes were good. I love their roast chicken and its half of chicken that I never can finish and have left overs for my next day lunch. I love their chicken and its juicy with a great taste that is complimented by the potatoes & rice. My friend thought her dinner was good, was filling and tasted similiar to her husbands parents cooking.

Service was a bit slow and that wasn't a surprise, but I do return for the food, its that good.

Loved their coffee.
Submitted Tuesday, September 16, 2008 - 10:36am [Dine in]

My friend and I had arrived into Victoria and wanted to have coffee to start our day. I remembered this place on my last visit and went for a walk, before we took in the sites of Victoria.

We both ordered Latte's, mine had Vanilla and my friend wanted hazelnut to enjoy our beverages. We sat down and both latte's aroma filled the room, and loving coffee, it was the aroma that got us looking forward to our latte's. My vanilla Latte had the right amount, no too sweet and the taste was addictive. My friend reported back and ordered another, she drank her latte faster than mine..lol I did try it, and I could understand why she wanted more.

Its a nice stop to have coffee, latte or expresso and let your senses wake up with the great coffee aroma. I Will be back next time I'm in Victoria.

Roger's Chocolates Soda Shoppe801 Government Street, Victoria
Fun place.
Submitted Tuesday, September 16, 2008 - 10:13am [Dine in]

My friend and I were wanting something cold to drink and we saw Rogers chocolates soda shoppe on the corner. Our eyes got really big and thought we would run in, okay we walked into this soda shoppe.

We thought the store was cute, very bright, not too busy and you can order in or take out. We saw people enjoying sundae's, milkshakes and everyone was having a great experience. We were sold after looking at the menu, and I ordered a Malt, and my friend had Milkshake.

We found the staff friendly and the wait didn't take to long on this busy corner. I loved my malt, it brought back childhood memories and wanted to live there, but I did have to go back home. My friend, her eyes got really good, and heard delicious, very good as she enjoyed her chocolate milkshake.

This was hit with the both of us, a great location with all the people who walk along Government St and I think it will be hit to the people in Victoria.

Lunch in Victoria
Submitted Tuesday, September 16, 2008 - 9:48am [Dine in]

I had a out of town friend and went to Victoria to show her the sites. When walking along Government street, we came across Earl's and decided to have our lunch.

I had Cheeseburger with Fries and my friend had grilled chicken and baked brie on ciabatta. I thought my burger was okay, but my fries were very salty and only ate a few. My friend reported her sandwich was very good, had a great taste and everything complimented one another.

When we got our servicer, she was friendly, but the service was very slow, either due to not seeing many staff on the floor and this being the Island. We informed our server we had to be somewhere, and this didn't speed up the service, so speaking up didn't help.

The company, food were good, but service was too slow.

Humous, Pita Bread and Platter for two
Submitted Saturday, September 13, 2008 - 2:33am [Dine in]

I was here on Wednesday with another friend when we ordered the assortment platter for two
includes daily vegetables, greek salad, satziki and pita
Roast Lamb, Moussaka, Deep-fried Calamari, Dolmathes, Spinach Pie and we added the Humous to our order. When we ordered the platter, the platter we thought was hugh, We could have another two people joining us. I also don't think either one of us was that hungry.
My friend doesn't eat Roast lamb, and I don't like Calamari or Greek Salad, so we traded and had leftovers for the next day. I love their humous, I think its the best in any Greek Place i've tried and order each time I eat here.
Our meal was great, no complaints with anything, and our server was friendly.
If in the area, and want to eat dinner, you won't be disappointed.

Cheers Restaurant125 E 2nd Street, North Vancouver
Server and food wasn't good.
Submitted Monday, September 8, 2008 - 10:09pm [Dine in]

I haven't been to Cheers for a few years, and I should have kept walking on Saturday.
I decided to order off the menu, Omelette with mushroom, that came with toast, hashbrown and coffee.

The only thing I liked was Coffee, very fresh and tasty, only compliment I can say about my meal.

My server was on another planet, very inexperience or she didn't seem to care. I only saw her when she took my order and my bill, no service anywhere in between, so I felt the service suck big time.

I found the omelette was on the greasy side, and it left me only eating half of it. The toast was cold, along with the hashbrown that was luke warm. My meal came to approx $6.50 and didn't leave tip for the poor food and my server didn't deserve a tip for her lack of interest.

Can't recommend.

Sawasdee Thai Restaurant4250 Main St, Vancouver
Lunch was sooooo good.
Submitted Monday, September 8, 2008 - 9:50pm [Dine in]

I have been going to Sawasdee for many years, and haven't been there for over 5 yrs. I truly forgotten how good their food was, how my taste buds dance, and it was delight to eat something that brought you to your knee's. No I don't eat spicy, but how well it was prepared & lots of flaour.
I had order the chef pick's with Chicken in peanut sauce, served with spinach, Thai spring roll, Chicken satay that my dish came with rice. I also ordered their spinach that was prepared in garlic. This was experience, I quickly remembered how flavourful, delicious and all the dishes complimented one another. At first I didn't think I would finish my plate, other than my order of spinach, which I took home. When I finished my meal, I wanted to lick the bottom of my plate, but that would be rude..lol.
This lunch experience wasn't over, and I continue to grin in how my meal truly made my day.
There's only 1 place I will eat coconut ice cream, and its a dessert that doesn't overwhelm you in coconut, but the ice cream has lots of flavour. I did order Ice Thai with my dessert, and It was excellent, and next time I will have to try the Thai ice coffee that they didn't have anymore, oh well next time.

My server was friendly, knowledgeable, a delight to have serving me, and gave great recommendations. Its truly nice to see someone in the industry that cares, and his personality definately added to my lunch time experience.

I promise It won't be 5 yrs for my next lunch, this is a spot everyone should try, and they cater to all taste buds from the non spicy to bring on the fire dept.

Highly, Highly Recommend.

Godiva Chocolatier1165 Robson Street, Vancouver
Milk Chocolate decadence will break the bank.
Submitted Monday, September 8, 2008 - 9:31pm [Dine in]

I was walking along Robson, when I have heard how good their decadence beverage, served hot or cold was sinfully rich. Rich I'm not, and sinfully hard to drink, as I felt this cold beverage lost its appeal after a couple of sip's.
I love chocolate that can take away the cravings, make you want more and not have you think why did I order this? I found it too be sweet, it had small morsal of chocolate sprinkles, that took away the appeal and for $6.30, I was hoping, more like praying, that I would love it.
I can't recommend this beverage, due to not drinking very much, but I do know their chocolates are good with a high price tag.

I decided to give them a try, and saw a variety of dishes prepared in the display case.
I found the owner to be friendly and flexible when it came to my order. I was wanting breakfast when she suggested biscuit served with egg & cheese, and had fresh coffee with my meal. I loved the fresh biscuit served with the egg & cheese and I was feeling pretty good to the start of my day.
I will have to go back and try their daily soups and sandwiches or enjoy another biscuit. If you're looking for homemade food, I would recommend to try it.

Good food to go.
Submitted Sunday, August 31, 2008 - 3:11am [Dine in]

I have been going to this location in the first month they have opened. I have tried alot of their dishes, including their special of the day, that begins after 5pm.
I love their grilled salmon, simple in taste, melts in your mouth and never disappoint. I like their variety of chicken from bbq, tandoori, cajun to Italian, and its a tie between bbq & tandoori for the flavour. When you order your meal, remember to speak loud, due to their industrial fans making it hard for both sides to hear you. The vegetables do change, I like their carrots & mashed potatoes, and you may see variety of rices, cooked squash to steamed brocolie. As you make your choices from the area, they'll package it and you can take it to the cashier in their deli or even into the store, if you wish to purchase more items.

Great spot to get food under $10.00, that's hot or cold, fresh and variety of food to help you start or end your day.

Try it, you might become a regular.

What a great view of the North Shore Mountains.
Submitted Sunday, August 31, 2008 - 2:54am [Dine in]

I was wanting a coffee & snack and decided to check this place out. Directly across the street from Urban Fare on Bute & West Cardero, this is a great spot to relax.

I ordered coffee with Breakfast Burrito and couldn't stop watching the view of the North Shore Mountains. This place has large windows, spacious, bright with glass dome ceiling allowing lots of light to come in. This was a nice spot to relax, read, watch their flat screen tv's, meet friends or have a date, and you can't go wrong with the view.

The server was friendly, helpful and brought my very hot burrito to enjoy. The coffee has a nice taste, and it was a great way to start my day. When you order & pay at the counter, and on this day, my server brought my food.

Definately will be back, especially for their coffee.

Did I eat a rock?
Submitted Friday, August 29, 2008 - 2:16am [Dine in]

I have been wanting to try this spot, and heard from friends, service is slow and food was okay. I must have been in a coma, and didn't listen to good advice.

Ambiance, I gave 5, due to how beautiful this place looks, with the big windows, dark brown walls, Emily Carr paintings that are re-prints to blue floors. Its got a nice flow, bright, airy, comfortable and this is the only positive I got to say about this place.
Service, was non existant in the beginning, it was like watching wet paint drying. I had this thought, I should leave, but blame it to the nice looking place and the coma I had suffered, Lmao. It took about 15 minutes when my server did arrive, friendly and took my ordered. I could tell they didn't have many people working, if there were more, they must have been hiding in the kitchen.
Food, I think they knew I was going to order a cheese burger, it came running out in 5 minutes. I should have stopped, not taken a bite, and gone home, but my coma interfered with my judgement. The burger looked as someone threw & slop all the ingredients together, mismatching my burger with the bun. As I was eating my cheese burger it didn't taste as good, salty and I should have stopped eating my rock, but I was on a roll. I knew this burger was going to own me, even now still feel like I ate bowling ball, I know I chewed my food, and didn't swallow it whole like a seagull. I hope I don't have to wait a lifetime to eat again, but I promise I won't be back anytime soon, unless hell freezes over.

Can't recommend, unless you want to have rock in your stomach.

I stopped in Park & Telford to do some shopping and decided to order take out at Golden Pearl.
I ordered the combo for 1, spring roll, beef chop suey, chicken chow mein & sweet and sour pork. I thought everything was good, not greasy, had dishes had a great taste and fresh.
The staff is friendly, as usual greeted warmly and thought I should have come here the previous night to get decent food.
I have tried many of the dishes over the years, and eating there, is spacious, clean and service is friendly.

Higher prices, smaller portions.
Submitted Tuesday, August 26, 2008 - 3:41pm [Dine in]

I learned along time ago to eat inside, you'll feel cramped, its loud and its small inside.

I have worked my way around the menu many times, and over the past year, notice their prices keep going up and the meals get smaller. I ordered their beef with lettuce, vegetarian roll, chicken in oyster sauce & steamed rice. I found the beef didn't have alot flavour with the lettuce, my vegetarian roll was greasy and my chicken seamed to be watered down. This wasn't their best day in the kitchen, it was busy, and I was prepared to have better prepared & tasting food.

As for service, I find the woman behind the counter, I rarely see her smile, be friendly or be polite to me. It doesn't matter if its busy or slow, I often encountered rudeness, and this is another reason I'm not impressed. Higher prices, smaller food portions and rude service.

If craving chinese, I plan to go somewhere else, until the service improves.

Mondo Gelato served here.
Submitted Monday, August 25, 2008 - 8:40pm [Dine in]

I was wanting gelato when I remembered Lugano at the Village of Park Royal.

I was greeted warmly and decided to buy milk chocolate gelato. As she was getting my gelato, I looked at the various chocolates, and inquired about a paricular ice cream dessert. I got my gelato, even had a sample, it was very tasty and taste bud's where dancing. I like how this store was displayed, clean, organzied and even had a few chair to sit by the window.

I thought the price was high, could be due to being inside a chocolate speciality store, over $6.00 plus tax. I love the gelato, it cooled me down, but the prices can burn a hole in your wallet & budget.

Its good when you're in the area.

I tried this place on the weekend, and decided to try their breakfast. I was greeted by the owner, and sat inside, due to how warm it was outside.

I ordered their scramble eggs, hashbrowns, toast and coffee, and my food arrived. I quite like their coffee, but their breakfast was good, but nothing spectacular. I can see this might be a popular spot, due to their outdoor patio, as the inside has odd decorations with red & orange painted walls.

If you're in the area, worth trying at least once.

Submitted Tuesday, August 19, 2008 - 4:29pm [Dine in]

I have been going here for years, when I want to relax, meet with friends or watch sporting events & eat, this is the spot.

I had their chicken fingers with fries, with a pepsi, and my food came quickly, very hot and fresh. My meal came to $13.00 plus tip, which isn't bad for lunch and to watch the Olympics.
I find their cheese burgers, roastbeef dip, steak to large nancho's that friends need to share, are some of the menu items I've tried. The food I find is constantly good, this is why I come here.
I like the service, friendly and I like their food when I go there to have lunch.
