Frozen Yogurt.
Submitted Monday, March 9, 2009 - 5:33pm [Dine in]

I was walking pass TCBY, decided to have a frozen vanilla yogurt with hot fudge sauce.
The location isn't that big, seating is limited and Its a spot where people order out to enjoy the scenery.
I found my yogurt was good, but they didn't put very much hot fudge on it, and wish they were a bit more generous.
Its good yogurt for a treat, for $3.50, and the next time its a sunny day, I will have to come back & enjoy it by the waterfront.

lunch was just okay.
Submitted Monday, March 9, 2009 - 5:19pm [Dine in]

I decided to try this place for lunch, and it wasn't busy. I ordered their chicken in black bean sauce with chow mein & won ton soup.

My won ton had lots of flavour, with 3 won tons, that were tasty & the right amount. My chicken came with green peppers & onions, and found the chow mein not that good & tasted greasy. I wish they gave me more chicken, but gave me too many green peppers & onions.

I've tried this spot, with so many other places to eat, this is one spot, I don't think I will be back.

Tokyo Joe's Sushi955 Helmcken St, Vancouver
Good spot for sushi.
Submitted Tuesday, March 3, 2009 - 6:40pm [Dine in]

Tokyo Joe's is located in the same complex at Sheraton Wall Center. Its not a large place to eat, catering to take out that doesn't disappoint.

The service is friendly, fast with combo meals, and like their salmon, tuna nigri along with California & cucumber rolls. The prices are great, and it makes it easy to order alot without breaking the bank.

Sushi is great here, and before I forget, not open on Sunday's. Will be back soon.

Weekend breakfast are good.
Submitted Tuesday, March 3, 2009 - 6:27pm [Dine in]

I have been sampling their food from beginning, every month their buffet explores different countries, trying not to repeat the menu. They have salad counter, a really good soup counter, my favourite is their Mushroom barley soup. They have oatmeal available in the mornings with their breakfast choices & dessert. They even have sushi, pizza and mexican counter along with bakery. They have alot of items prepared and some can be reasonably price, while some things are catering to your credit card.

I will often have their scramble eggs, with cut up fresh fruit and french toast brulee, and remember you pay for the weight on the plate. I have finally gotten it under $10.00. If you go in the afternoon, I like their roast chicken from the buffet, and will get a salad from the counter, which makes a nice dinner.

Keep in mind this is an organic grocery store, that serves a variety of meals that are different. Make sure you have lots of money, it can be easy to lighten your wallet.

Breakfast are good.

Aria Pizza & Donair112 West 12th Avenue, North Vancouver
Pizza is really good.
Submitted Tuesday, March 3, 2009 - 6:15pm [Dine in]

The other day I came across Aria review from chasiubow, knowing we have similiar taste, I had to check it out the next time I was at Westview area.

I was hungry after my workout, remembering the review, went to Aria and ordered a small chicken with Mushroom pizza and Coca cola. I was greeted by a male first, who was somewhat friendly, and the lady server took over with her friendly personality. The place isn't large, few tables to eat in, and ate my pizza inside.

The very first bite, my pizza had tons of flavour, lots of chicken, mushroom and cheese with this great tasting crust. I couldn't believe how good the pizza tasted, filling me up by the third slice...I have more for later..Yeah!!! I did find the price a bit higher for a small pizza, but the quality is definately worth the price.

Great review from one of the regulars and I will be back soon.

Pizza makes you thirsty.
Submitted Monday, February 23, 2009 - 8:25pm [Dine in]

I was shopping at Park & Telford, and wanted Pizza and thought I would order 2 slices of Hamburger Pizza. I found the pizza to be dry, salty and not very warm which didn't bring out the taste. This would explain why I was thirsty, from their pizza.

It wasn't busy, found the tables had not been tidy up from previous customers. I find at this location, the pizza isn't as good as other locations, and only wish the pizza would have tasted better.

Milestone's Grill and Bar1145 Robson Street, Vancouver
Poorly made salad?
Submitted Sunday, February 22, 2009 - 1:59am [Dine in]

I hadn't been in Milestones since they had their renovations, and like the changes they made. I was greeted by a friendly server and took my order. I decided to eat Chicken Casaer Salad, and found the kitchen staff that prepared it very poorly. I received 5 thin slices of chicken, the dressing was too heavy and found the iceberg lettuce had old pieces including the section of the lettuce that's usually tossed when anyone is breaking open iceberg lettuce.

I did bring this attention to my server that I found my dish, wasn't as good a previous experience, and to suggest the kitchen staff to learn how to clean and prepare salads.

Not impressed with my meal that's usually easy to make and left me wondering if this location will ever measure up before they had their renovations.

Another location for coffee & Gelato
Submitted Sunday, February 22, 2009 - 1:50am [Dine in]

I was checking out the new Library, when I saw another Brazza location. I walked in, notice that it was smaller at this location, clean, bright and my server was friendly. I ordered vanilla Latte and wanted to eat my favourite ice cream, reeses peanut butter Gelato.

I loved the Latte, full of flavour and with my Gelato, this hit the spot. I plan to return to this location soon, and it didn't disappoint.

Milk chocolate chunk cookies.
Submitted Saturday, February 14, 2009 - 2:02am [Dine in]

I was walking pass Cookies by George, the smell of fresh baked cookies got my attention.
I had to have one, there not cheap, and paid $1.50 for my Milk chocolate chunk cookie. Fresh, moist, and even slightly warm, the taste melting in my mouth, and nice dessert after my lunch.

These cookies are cheap, but if you want to eat one & run, then their worth trying, when you're in the area.

Decent Lunch
Submitted Saturday, February 14, 2009 - 1:53am [Dine in]

I was searching for lunch in Royal Center, and decided to check out Lemonia. I was surprised that the staff knew me, thinking where did I meet the staff, and they once owned Georges Souvlaki at the Lonsdale Quay. I still like their former location at the Lonsdale Quay, since the food is excellent, and I knew the food was going to be good.

I had ordered the Chicken Souvlaki platter for under $8.00, and got salad, roast potatoes, rice, chicken and for old time, they added homous and pita bread. I was not disappointed, the chicken was moist, great tasting with lots of flavour. I like the potatoes, rice, and the homous was definately great tasting. I was full by the end of my meal, and the food was a great as before, so you can't go wrong for trying out this location.

If you can get pass food court ambiance, this is a great spot to enjoy tasty lunch with value.

I will be back.

Located inside the Lonsdale Quay, next to Kin's markets, this little spot caters to take out or if you want to eat in at the Quay.

I usually order their Special B with Futomaki 2 pieces, California, cucumber roll, Tuna roll, salmon roll all have 3 pieces each & salmon & tuna nigiri 1 piece each, for about $8.50.

Great spot to order sushi to go, its never a long wait, and they have a variety of combo's to check out.

Will be back.

Sandwiches are good here.
Submitted Thursday, February 5, 2009 - 6:39pm [Dine in]

If you want to enjoy lunch at the art gallery cafe, its a nice spot to eat in or have your meal out. I like their sandwiches, from turkey, chicken, roastbeef to their salads, all have been good. The bread is fresh, lots of flavour and their sandwiches go around$6.50.

The gallery cafe is a nice to relax, have soup, sandwiches to salad along with a coffee or beverage. Good spot when you're in the art gallery or just wanting to order food to go.

Yuko Maki1540 Lonsdale Avenue, North Vancouver
New & Improved.
Submitted Monday, January 19, 2009 - 5:20pm [Dine in]

I don't know if Yuko was the name before their renovations, but walking into this location on Lonsdale was improvement. I liked the dark wood, sushi bar & counter, big booths and cleaner look. What a hugh difference from the previous sushi look, you will like the improvements.

I had order their Tuna & Salmon combo, with 2 Salmon & Tuna Nigiri and Salmon & Tuna rolls for $7.50. I had ordered a coca cola and they refilled my green tea, and the food was fresh, quality and lots of flavour. It wasn't too busy but the server said they opened on Friday, with many positive reviews with the changes. The service was friendly, my food arrive quickly and compare to their Marine Dr location, this place I like more & felt relaxed.

The new renovations came with a discount of 20%, and it wasn't all that expensive to enjoy a good lunch.

Will be back.

La Bodega Restaurant & Tapa Bar1277 Howe Street, Vancouver
Okay food & Service.
Submitted Wednesday, January 14, 2009 - 11:13pm [Dine in]

I haven't been in La Bodega for approx 2 years and wanted to go there after work. It wasn't too busy for 7.30pm, was greeted by lukewarm waitress & was sat in the very back in a corner. I did ask to move to another table, one that wasn't wobbly, and saw a few, but this particular waitress didn't seem to care.

I was greeted by another server, who was friendlier, took my order and waited with hungry anticipation. I had order there prawns in garlic, meatballs, chicken wings with bread to dip into the garlic. I loved the prawns, still as good as I remembered them, and the bread was great for soaking up the garlic, vampires beware.
My meatballs where less than desired, in a sauce but I found the meatballs where overcooked & dry, not making them very tasty. I also thought their chicken wings in pass, where the best, but I should have left my previous thoughts behind to sadly disappointed with hardly lots of taste to them.
It could have been off night for the chef, but I didn't find the food all that great, flavourful or screaming at me to order more. I did try the creme carmel dessert, it was light, lots of flavour and another dish the way I remembered.
It too bad that food wasn't that great, I'm in no rush to return anytime soon. Sadly the food or service wasn't as good in my last visit. They need to fix the table that wobbles in the back..another drawback to my meal.

Try it for lunch.
Submitted Tuesday, January 13, 2009 - 5:17pm [Dine in]

I had seen two reviews by chasiubow & Kujibo, and had to give this place a try.

I found it wasn't too busy after 1pm, service was friendly and warm. I was given a menu and sat next to the window. I decided to go off on the beaten path, order chicken teriyaki, salmon, tuna nigiri and california roll.
My tuna & salmon was great & full of flavour and definately like the california roll. All this was served to me before my very hot chicken teriyaki on a skillet, giving it time to cool, before my first bite. I loved the chicken teriyaki, lots of flavour, fresh with rice and veggies and hot in each bite.
I could have done it cheaper by ordering the specials, but I wanted to experiment on the menu, and it didn't disappoint.
Thanks to the regulars review, this place was worth stopping and trying it out.

Late night meal
Submitted Monday, January 12, 2009 - 2:14am [Dine in]

I was finishing work, super hungry and knew that Earls was open late. I was greeted by the hostess, who either didn't understand english very well and adding to loud music made the conversation awkward.
I sat in the bar, watching the TV screens and listening to music, when my server who was nice & friendly, throughout my meal.
I could eat several cows, that kind of hungry, and had ordered 7 oz sirlion steak & it came with veggies and garlic mashed potatoes. I also asked for garlic bread, which wasn't all that good, it was soaked in too much garlic. My steak arrived at the same time with my garlic bread, and thought the steak had lots of flavour and tasted great. Loved the mashed potatoes, but the green beans, lack flavour and was on the soggy side. I think the chef must have been tired, since my bread and veggie lack appeal.
My late night meal hit the spot, my server was prompt & friendly, and I left full.

I'm positive I'll be back again.

Pizza at Lunch time
Submitted Monday, January 5, 2009 - 4:33pm [Dine in]

I was in the area, haven't been to Boston Pizza for awhile, and decided to have my lunch.

I ordered an individual bbq pizza that had alot of flavour and filled me up. I like how it didn't take too long, and each bite had the right amount of chicken, mushrooms, with cheese. It wasn't greasy and my 7-up went well with my pizza. I did save room, tried their chocolate explosion, very tasty, took what I couldn't eat home, due to how rich this particular dessert and I was full.

I found the service was attentive, the place wasn't too busy and where I sat was a bit too dark. I thought it was a good spot to have lunch on a cold day.

Noodle Makers935 Marine Drive, North Vancouver
Food & service were very good.
Submitted Wednesday, December 31, 2008 - 3:43pm [Dine in]

I decided to wait for Noodle Makers to be open, to work out the kinks of being new to the area. Located inside Capilano Mall, you can enter off by Marine Dr or inside the Mall, and you're greeted by the hostess who will take you upstair for your table. I think the lower part is open during the evening, and got to experience a friendly staff right from the beginning.
The 2 previous reviewers I'm not sure if they fake reviews or had issue, but visiting this location was opposite of what I had for lunch.

I was taken upstair to be seated in a booth, and the one thing I did note, was the space wasn't used as well, or could be trying different ways to use it. I like to think the tables will be better place, since one side has a narrow path, where some booths are located. Otherwise I like the brightness and high ceiling to this location.

I met many servers, who were polite & friendly, and my main server, had alot of great suggestions. I plan to order alot, being New Years Eve, and wanting to avoid cooking tonight. I order the Shrimp Dumpling, Steamed pork Dumpling & Garlic shrimp spring rolls on the Dim Sum Selection. Under the Poultry selection, which I just loved and my server was right, Chicken with Ginger & green onion in hot pot, I didn't see this on the menu, asked if they could make it, and got served the Guylan in garlic sauce and steamed rice. All the dishes came quickly, where hot, fresh and I loved the Chicken with Ginger hot pot, with tons of flavour. I think all the servers where wondering if I could eat all this, but from the time I order, I mention this would be dinner.

My server chatted with me, ask if I need anything else, and went out of his way to keep checking on me. I felt the service was the same quality as their sister location AZIA, and saw similiar items on this menu. I can't say anything bad about service or the food.

I did find Dim Sum prices high, but I got freshness & quality, that made up for the price. I thought my experience was terrific, and hoping to see some of the regulars that frequent this site, come & check it out, since I value their thoughts, especially since I don't eat spicy food.

Noodle Makers does take out and eat in, and if you want experience a nice place to eat in Capilano Mall, I do recommend it.

Will be back.

Everything is delicious.
Submitted Thursday, December 18, 2008 - 6:48pm [Dine in]

I love this bakery, and during the pre-christmas season, I've been in here alot. When you walk in, you see a few tables & chairs, and variety of baked goods in stock. I have been going here for about 2 or 3 yrs, when I need individual cake for a birthday or anniversary or buying their cookies throughout the christmas as gifts.

The service is friendly, helpful and if you don't see it, ask the staff to assist with your request. My favourites are the cookies, almond & hazelnut cookies, chocolate chip to shortbread. If you don't want to eat a whole cake, their individual small cakes are excellent. I've tried the Tirasmisu, chocolate mousse, strawberry cheesecake to name a few and all have been great & fresh.

I have sometimes come in for coffee and cookies that go well together, and its a relaxing place to people watch or read a newspaper.

If you're passing along Lonsdale, check it out this quaint french bakery, that is hard to resist.

Can we say I'll be back and Yummy.

Submitted Saturday, December 13, 2008 - 2:17am [Dine in]

I saw Yopo last week, and when I returned to the area, I thought I would check it out.

Its not a large place, I think they do alot of take out and you can eat in but seating is limited. I like it, clean, cozy, friendly service, and I ordered Chicken in black bean sauce with rice. My food arrived quickly, super hot, fresh and lots of chicken, this was great meal on a rainy day. If I had more time, i would have explored the menu but It will have to wait for my next visit.

I like their food, it cost under $8.00 before tip and will be back.

Recommend.
