lovely atmosphere

great for dinning, and celebrating anything.

i love the food at earl's, even if it is a bit pricey, its good for special occasions. i mus recommend a burger & their famous shoestring fries. thing and crispy, just right. the service is great, and you will be amazed at how the servers memorize everyones order ( even for a table of 20!)

when they bring out your orders, they place them on a huge round stand, that way everyone eats at the same time. a downside is that the wait is quite long (20-30 wait) but still worth the while.

the atmosphere is very elegant, and will keep your eyes wandering while you wait. resembles a high-class version of milestones or whitespot. definitly a pleaser.

anyone who wants to try this restaraunt, go buy a coupon savings book ( like the entertainment or vancouver lower mainland savings book) and you will get a great deal!

with the coupon, you can get your moneys worth with a "buy 1 get 1 free" deal.

the desserts are spectacular, and to die for. i would like to recommend the baked alaska, the ice cream is just melt-in-your-mouth goodness. the other desserts look very appetizing, but are quite costly.

they give pretty large portions too, so it would be a good idea to share if you are eating with an accomplice. overall, it's a good treat once in a while, really fills your sweet tooth!

worth your money

the prices are very affordable, and the sets are a great catch. but there is nothing really special about this restaruant that would want me to go back again and again. though the atmosphere is great, the waiters are always really busy. but that does not make the food come slower at all, in fact, the order is faster, if there are a lot of people that order the same thing as you ( the chef makes a big batch all at once).

it is not one of my favourite resturaunts because it is pretty plain and simple, all the dishes you can find elsewhere. but the prices are something i do look forward to, and the decor is worth the wait.

a no-no
Submitted Thursday, August 31, 2006 - 9:17pm [Dine in]

like the reviews before, this restaruant is always packed full of people, but it was totally not worth going.

the seafood was horrible, which probably makes the whole point of the restaraunt ( hence the name "fisherman"). we ordered the scallops and the whole dish was filled with sand. we exchanged the dish after talking to the manager ( the waiters didn't even reply to us!). but even after our other seafood dish ( fish), it was unsatisfactory, and the sand tasted horrible.

not a restaruant i would visit anytime soon.

my favourite taiwanese restaruant.

lovely atmosphere, and the food is just fabulous. i must recommend the 2 dishes that i order whenever im there. one, the fried (taro) fries. they are fabulous, for taro lovers like myself, and are great for sharing.
the second, is the tian bu la (fish cake) fried rice. yummy yummmy! you must try it to believe it. its like 2 dishes in one. the fried fish cakes are delicious, and the fried rice has a lot of veggies in it. this dish is enough for 2 people.

nice atmosphere

ever since their new menu, i have not been very pleased.

the service was okay ( slow as usual, like any other north american restaruant) but the atmosphere was very nice. clean floors & authentic dishes, makes a nice meal. Though the dishes were somewhat pricey and had smaller portions than expected (especially the appetizers).

for food explorers...

has weird hours, and is very crowded because of the limited seating space.

the food is a bit pricey, but worth it. they are famous for their huge pancakes that take 41 bites (as said) to finish. there are plenty of selections and lots of varieties.

i have only been there once with my family, and it was an okay experience. this is a good restaraunt to explore, but not to feed on.

one of my favourite restuarants.

the food is great, the menu includes pizzas, pastas, sandwiches and burgers.

i would reccomend the share platter, with is roughly $18, but is a great appetizer for 4-6 people. the platter includes, potatoe skins, fried potato chips, wings, garlic bread and more.

the menu changes from time to time, which is great because it gives you new choices. service is a bit slow, but the same as other north-american restuarants ( they wait until all the orders are done, then serve). the place is pretty crowded, so reservations are needed for large groups.

overall, this restuarant is made up of italian cuisine, with a hint of mexican as well.

sunday brunch buffet
Submitted Thursday, August 31, 2006 - 1:47pm [Dine in]

the buffet is as full as you can get. they start you off with a choice of entrees (omelette or eggs benedict) which is very satisfying. for those who consume large amounts, you can order as many times as youd like , but normally one entree is too filling for anyone.

the buffet includes a breakfast bar, with crossiants, cookies, eggs, bacon, ham etc. the flies were not very appetizing, and there was not a large selection.

the service was good, quite fast. and the restuarant was very clean with a friendly atmosphere.

poor service
Submitted Thursday, August 31, 2006 - 1:42pm [Dine in]

this restuarant used to be a favourite of mine when i was little, but not anymore. the service is poor, and very very slow. it takes around 30 minutes or more for the food to come.

they provide 'buy 1 get 1 half off' coupons in the richmond news paper which makes a good deal.

i would reccomend the cactus cut nachoes, for sharing. they are mexican style pieces of friend potatoes, topped with guacamole, salsa, sourcream & other condiments.
