Save your money and time, run for the hills and dine at another restaurant...
Submitted Tuesday, April 2, 2013 - 8:14pm [Dine in]

Went to this restaurant for dimsum with my mother. Where should I start...

1) Food arrived very late - less than 50% of the food we ordered arrived at the half hour mark, and it took much longer than 1 hour for all of our food to arrive.

2) Our food was cold - there were hot pieces of food, mixed with cold pieces of food in the plates we ordered. Which made all of us suspect that leftovers were DUMPED into our plates!

3) Our server was the most horrible server / human being I have ever met - she shoved her coworker away (who was assisting us nicely) screaming "go away" in Cantonese, then proceeded to ask us what we wanted. First, she sassed my mother, who asked her VERY nicely to bring us the table cloth, yelling impatiently: "One thing at a time!". Second, when my mother added more items to our original order, she screamed in my mother's face in Cantonese (which we do not speak), then roared in horrible Mandarin telling my mother to order everything at once or else the food will arrive very late. Third, when refilling our tea - my sister was kind enough to help her lift the tea lid (which was piping hot). When she was struggling because the lid was super hot, the server SCOFFED at her, proceeded to rip the teapot lid off, then dumped the water into the teapot quickly, almost burning my sister.

I know that these dimsum places are always busy and they are not known for great service - but I am here to try to have a good time with my family while enjoying good food. This restaurant failed on every level. They cannot handle the crowd. I feel sorry for the coworkers of that horrible bullying witch who served us. I've talked to other customers from other tables - apparently she treated them horribly too. I reported her to the manager - whether she has been taken care of, that's up to him. If they keep this up, they are digging their own grave and I have no sympathy for them.

Good jambalaya!
Submitted Monday, June 22, 2009 - 4:51pm [Dine in]

Came here for a friend's birthday dinner, had the downstairs section to ourselves, so that was nice and quiet compared to the rest of the place. The waitresses did a great job with checking on us to make sure we were happy with everything.

The jambalaya was so good I wish I was having it right now!

I have stopped coming to this restaurant for a few years. Before they had a renovation I enjoyed the food here, a great deal... until my sister saw some mice wrestling with each other near the bathroom.

After the renovation, I came here with my mom.

I had asked the server what the daily special was... then she responded, "Go take a look at the sign at the front door, it's right there".

My order came, I started eating... then realized that there was no chicken in there even though it was a chicken dish. I told the server about this, and she responded, "there's no chicken because YOU ATE IT!".

... No, this is not fiction writing. Keep reading.

We were fuming... then while I was eating (still had my fork in my dish on 3 separate occasions), the same server tried to take away my plate - at least 3 times! WTH?! No common sense whatsoever!

Anyway, after that, I didn't tip - for obvious reasons. I don't expect servers to be waiting on their hands and knees all the time, but I bet you that waitress would not do the same thing to a caucasian customer.

Like I said, I never returned to this restaurant after this - and neither should you for good reasons.

Great food, great drinks

This is a place that I regularly visit. The beef noodles here are just right, and the price is decent.

What's really unique about this place is the drink menu that they have - it's very different from the bbt places I've been to. They have unique mixed selections of fruit, milk, black, and green tea. My favourite one is an ice-wine tea mix, I highly recommend it!

Good service, Excellent burger

I came here with my sister a few weeks ago and ordered the californian burger - one of the best burgers I've had in these types of restaurants so far. The beef patty was pretty big - but cooked just right... not too "well-done", and not too raw! I also liked the yam fries substitute for the regular fries.

This place's atmosphere was quite nice - lots of people but the booths provided enough privacy. Our server was incredibly polite and pleasant as well.

I would not mind returning here again.

Great food, thankless customer service

My family and I have been ordering from this place for almost a year now...

The food is incredibly flavourful and the price + portion is just right. I have no complaints about the food.

Recently I went to pick up some food for take-out for someone (paying them, using someone else's money, which consisted of 10 toonies and 8 loonies). I got yelled at by a middle-aged woman to not bring so much change next time. It was not my fault because it was not even my money. She didn't look like she would listen to anything I would say next, so I just left without arguing. To say that her attitude was immature would be an understatement. The kind of yelling she did was not acceptable for customers.

That was the worst service I have ever encountered, and the stay at the restaurant was only 3 minutes! That speaks for itself.

I understand that it can be stressful working during peak hours in this industry - I've been there, trust me. However, she was not given pennies - 10 toonies and 8 loonies are not that hard to count, and if it is, then she should not be working there!

The food is good - but no food would be great enough for me to go back, pay them money, just to get yelled at. Why would anybody pay money for food, just to get yelled at? That's incredibly stupid.
