I was so excited to order take out from this new pizzeria. I got the special : 3 large pizzas and 2L bottle of Pop for $39.95. What a waste of money! The pizza was so tasteless. The ingredients did not seem fresh. And the quantity of meat was not very generous either.
Frozen Delissio pizza would have hit the spot better than Albion Pizzerias pizza. Service was okay, although I arrived more than 20 minutes before closing (and ordered 45 mins prior), and I felt as if I was being a nuissance.
Not at all impressed.
Love the $1.50 muffin and coffee combo!
The staff are always very friendly and polite. The food isnt the best I've ever had. It's a nice atmosphere, large seating area! They always have current newspapers, and magazines to read while you're having breakfast, or sipping tea or coffee. The perfect place to relax.
I've enjoyed the food at Halu Sushi for 4-5 years now. The food is very tasty, and always fresh! The service is wonderful, the girls are always happy, which in turns makes me in a better mood!
I do enjoy my favourite: Teriyaki chicken and tempura! I know...not sushi-like foods, but they make them perfectly and for $6.95 for box A ...it's a dream come true :) I hope they never take it off the menu!
I'm a huge fan of Japanese restaurants that have other things to offer aside from sushi!
Now as for the sushi, it's not the cheapest, but it's always fresh, and tasty! Compared to other sushi restaurants Halu Sushi's prices are right where they should be.
The ambiance is ....just perfect! It's very modern, clean and well decorated.
They are closed on Sundays, just a FYI.
I would recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Maple Ridge :)
Recently visited this restaurant on a busy Saturday evening amongst the Olympic crowds. Lucky enough this place wasnt too crazy, as it's not "too" downtown. I was very impressed at both my meal and the price! The female server was very polite and was happy to serve us.
Our meals were very tasty and fresh! The price was very low for that neck of the woods...er, city.
It's a cute little restaurant, not a lot of seating...but would be perfect for take-out.
Would definitely visit again :)
I was pretty dissapointed with my last visit to this place. The waitress got my order wrong, and when I politely pointed it out, she didnt do anything about it? Like..."oh well". The food was not bad, but it wasnt good either. There is a lot of hype, but in my opinion it was nothing special.
If you're looking to get sushi, try somewhere else...it's pretty bland here.
The ambiance was okay, we were the only people there which is always a bonus!! (or scary....I'm not sure)
There are quite a few Chinese restaurants in Maple Ridge. This one would probably be slotted in to the awful pile. The only positive thing I can say about this place is the Sweet and Sour pork is pretty good. Other than that, it's awful. The Chicken Chow Mein is dry and tasteless. My beef about this place is the awful service. The girl who works there is very rude to customers. I went in there once to get take-out and when I went to pay she asked me if I wanted to make a tip?!? Like, are you serious here?? My obvious answer was a huge no. Thankfully...because when I got home the food was...crap.
The restaurant itself is very dirty and extremely tacky.
Would not recommend.
I've become more of a Starbucks type of gal this past year.
It is more money than a lot of other coffee shops, but it's definitely worth it when they make the drinks properly and serve you with a pleasant demeanor. I used to be a total hardcore Timmys Ice Cap fan, but they've dissapointed me with their watery Ice Caps over and over again. The Frappucinos at Starbucks are AWESOME. Not once have I ever had a dissapointing drink. The drive-thru at this location is slow. But it's worth the extra time and money in my opinion.
I've been to this Timmy's a handful of times. Every visit I'm faced with employees who really really don't want to be there. The service is very slow, not friendly and my pain peeve-off is the way they make the Ice-Caps. For pete-sakes make them properly!!! They've raised the prices of all of their drinks, the least they could do is make them the way they're supposed to be! Half the Ice Caps I've had from the Maple Ridge Timmy's are totally watered down. Like, they don't use enough Ice Cap mix. Just my two cents...
I would recomment eating-in if you can. The drive-thru service is Soooooo incredibly slow. I've got there several times in the drive-thru to get an ice cream cone. Seriously shouldnt have to wait 10 minutes. So, I got inside now...if at all. The inside is quite nice, it's newly renovated. But like most fast-food restaurants, the service could be better.
I agree with Mr.Munchy. You definitely have to make sure they're charging you the right price. Bring the flyer/advertisement with you. Although, you really shouldnt have to.
The pizza itself is okay. Quite greasy, but I guess that's to be expected with fast-food type pizza. Nice that they give you a garlic dip and some random peppers, that's a nice touch. The wings arent very good. They were burnt-tasting. If you need a pizza asap, then I guess this place would be okay.
Go for the diable calamari...ohhhh soooo good. The service is not great. Prices are a little high for what you get. Conveniently located outside the Coquitlam centre. Not much to complain about, except it's a little silly that you have to pay for bread if it's before 4pm? lol
I dont know why people think this place is so great. To have to wait outside for 25 minutes is insane, it's nothing special. The food is okay, nothing special. The prices are great. The service is slow, unfriendly and pushy. After going to this place I wish I didnt wait for food I could have got at a pub.
This place is good for basic chinese food. It's reasonably priced, and the food is good. The servings arent huge, but that's expected when you pay what most places do. Their lunch special is great, $4.25 for 3 items? Great deal, and great food! You get a giant plate of nice warm chinese food. The ambiance is ...well it could be better but I would still recommend it.
This restaurant has decent food, with a great price. The service is okay, it's a nice big restaurant which is nice, because you're not crammed together with other diners. I would recommend it for some fast, cheap food. Nothing fabulous, but it is what you would expect from a chinese restaurant.
Oh dear. This so called buffet consists of many items, most of which are cold and chock full of MSG. The food is awful, it's very salty, even for chinese food. Expensive for what you get, or dont get. The service is awful (which is sad because it's a buffet). When you leave they even have large white buckets to buy for .50 cents, use your imagination what those are for.
I've gone to this restaurants more times than I can remember. Almost every time the service has been a joke, getting my main course before my appetizer has happened a little too many times. They're just young girls/guys who dont really care about their job, and obviously not their tip either. The one great thing about Boston Pizza is their food, it's hot, fresh and very tasty. If you want good food, it's a great place to go, if you want slow, irregular service, this place is full of it.
I've gone here twice expecting it to be better the second time around. The food is mushy, tasteless and just plain bad. Take-out service is terrible, especially when they conveniently charge you extra for items that should be "on sale". I would say that this is the worst chinese restaurant in Maple Ridge. I've been to them all, and this is the worst. The only good thing about this place is the "ambiance" is decent, and that's not saying a lot. Dont bother wasting your time and money.
