Nice new image for the Cactus Club..who took over the old Steam Works restaurant (The Lighthouse) in the New Village in Park Royal.
Different ambiance...we sat in the lounge and even though the games were on the wide screens and many of them - it did not interfere like a lot of sports bars...there were billiards but in the back section and also there but separate...great bar
FRIENDLY and very attentive staff....great furnishings - lots of plush leather...A very polished, but down to earth GM
Best Yam Fries EVER!! Great tasting and plentiful salads and the wonton soup and seafood chowder.... Yummy
I will go back there for sure this is a 5 star

WOW what happened to the Triple"O" story?
I head that the White Spot was good for breakfast so off I went after the Dog Park with a friend.
We ordered Cranberry juice as all the juice was canned only to flip out at the sugar content. The waiter told us curtly that the manufacture had added it and not him. In the USA he would have got the dot.
I did explain to another waitress that it might be a good plan for them to tell people it is very sweet at the time the order is placed.
I ordered some food to go for my son and that was not ready and took forever and while I was waiting I tried to watch the news or something but ALL of the flat screen TV's and there are at least three large one's in one row....had the same US football game on...we threatened to burn our bras but nobody listened except the man from the US sitting at the bar..he thought that was a plan and even supported us on having at least one of the screens turned into something else...even cartoons....kids go there also do they not?
A bad attitude turns me off of the food - and I could have got the same White Spot special breakfast for one third the price at Lonsdale Quay food fare.
I am going back to Moody Ville in North Vancouver - lower Lonsdale - best food for your money and good people.

The restaurant was very busy...good for them...but the attitude was not so good...poor hostessing.
So we wait and wait and wait for the burgers and what for? Boring? Plain and expensive for a thick Big Mac - (they have more taste)
The order to go was nightmare .....was not ready was not ready was not ready - did not have milkshake with it was charged double.
WHAT HAPPENED TO RICKY'S? That location did not need to be improved - it WAS great.

Mediocre food with a flair. Took forever to get the host/hostess attention to a parking problem...there was a person with a disability.
The stone grill is a gimmick. The food was very basic and the steak did not have any taste. Too expensive for what is served. Great view.
