Yummy but loud and stuffy!
Submitted Wednesday, May 7, 2008 - 10:45pm [Dine in]

Food: The tapa sized dishes are great for me and the food is fresh and good. Their beer is actually great too and I usually don't enjoy drinking beer!

Service: The waitresses and waiters are very attentive. They yell their orders to the cooks and the cooks yell back in Japanese. I think that is what makes this dining experience extraordinary.

Ambiance: Very, very small restaurant that doesn't seem to have any windows open for fresh air.

*** The restaurant is busy during the evenings through night time. I recommend this restaurant to everyone wanting to try something new.

Very cool and classy.

Food: The food is always hot, fresh and really good. The drinks are also yummy.

Service: The waitresses and waiters are always good looking and polished. At every location, the food takes a while to arrive at your table. The washrooms are two leveled and so cool!

Ambiance: I've always loved the ambiance of Joey's restaurants. It is sophisticated and modern.

*** Overall, I recommend Joey's on Broadway first before you go to any other locations. They offer a memorable dining experience.

It is OKAY for all you can eat!
Submitted Wednesday, May 7, 2008 - 10:32pm [Dine in]

Food: The food is decent and good for all you can eat. The chicken teriyaki always has too much fat though.

Service: The owner knows me and my cousins and friends so when he is working, he makes our dining experience better. The servers are quick and efficient at busing and taking our orders.

Ambiance: Big, open spaced restaurant, but in my opinion, it needs a makeover!

*** This is the one restaurant that makes me feel sick and just "ugh" after eating all you can eat, even if I don't eat that much. There are definitely better Japanese restaurants for all you can eat sushi in the lower mainland.

Great everytime I ate there!

Food: The rice is always oily but overall the food is delicious!

Service: Solid

Ambiance: The restaurant is quite small and stuffy. Every time you come out of the restaurant, you smell =p

*** As most people already know there are always long line ups outside of the restaurant. It is the most popular Greek restaurant in Vancouver! The prices are cheap and they offer huge portions.

So far, the best tacos I've ever eaten!
Submitted Wednesday, May 7, 2008 - 10:18pm [Dine in]

Food: I had a chicken taco and it was really juicy, fresh, and tasty. I liked how the taco shell was homemade and different.

Service: Solid

Ambiance: It is dark, small and the walls are painted black and red. It kind of creeps me out!

*** I recommend the Taco Shack if you happen to be around there :)

Just a Solid Okay
Submitted Monday, April 7, 2008 - 3:11pm [Dine in]

Food: my boyfriend and i ordered the teriyaki chicken and tempura hot plate. the teriyaki chicken contained so much fat (overall it was half meat and half fat) and it was also really SOGGY. the tempura was good, fresh and warm though. we also ordered a california roll which was packed with a lot of rice (yuck) and did not really stand out either.
the miso soup tasted alright, a bit sour and not even hot =(

Service: the servers did not serve the miso soup to us until we were finished eating our meal and we had to ASK for the miso soup. they said they forgot about the soups (again, the soup was not even hot) they did not even check on our table and it was not busy during that time.

Ambiance: it is kind of dark and gloomy in the restaurant. they need to renovate the restaurant into a brighter, happier atmosphere!

my boyfriend asked me, would you go back there? i said, no comment, sorry.

Good & Tasty!
Submitted Tuesday, March 4, 2008 - 6:08pm [Dine in]

I've been here countless times over the last few years.
I either dine at Ddoo Gau Bee on Monday -- Thursday for the 5 for $20.00 special (so worth it, yumyumyum) or I dine on the weekend with my boyfriend and order a chicken teriyaki box! Fish instantly makes me vomit so I'm not sure if they fish is good at this restuarant, but overall its "Good."

Food: solid good but sometimes the rice comes out a bit cold.. not even warm..

Service: the staff is friendly but one time my boyfriend and i came into the restaurant and expected a hostess or server to seat us.. the restaurant wasn't full and we stood there for 8 minutes (i timed it) without anyone greeting us or directing us to sit down or wait.. so we left! and didn't eat at that restaurant for a couple months! but when they do notice you, they are nice and attentive.

Ambiance: it kind of has a weird theme to it (i don't know what the fake trees are for) otherwise its clean and decent.

*** If you want to try Ddoo Gau Bee, I suggest you dine on Monday -- Thursday and order the 5 for $20.00 special :)

Luxe Chinese Seafood Restaurant19653 Willowbrook Drive, #138A, Langley
Submitted Monday, March 3, 2008 - 2:23pm [Dine in]

i went to Luxe with my boyfriend last week for DIM SUM.

FOOD: very fresh and hot :) i'm chinese canadian and their dim sum is one of the BEST i've ever had in my life! the portions are varied by size which determines its price on the menu (small, medium, large) we had 6 plates/steamed baskets for under $30.00 ... not that bad.

SERVICE: the staff is dressed very nicely, black and white. during weekdays, there is no need to flag them down or be ignored (even if the restaurant is full) the menus are in english as well as chinese and the servers speak fluently in english.

AMBIANCE: the restaurant is fairly modern and formal. the cutlery is clean and the furniture looks really nice. they should play music...

*** the location is in langley which is kind of odd for me because i'm so used to having dim sum in vancouver and richmond but it is so worth it!
