Terrible.
Submitted Tuesday, July 6, 2010 - 10:59pm [Dine in]

Yikes. This place goes to show that location alone can keep a restaurant open if tourists are involved. Food was atrocious. Rice that tasted like instant stuff, a sad little smear of refried beans that would have been better straight out of a can. Portion was tiny and terribly over priced for this impressively bad food and un-ignorably anemic portions. The waiter had the gall to write "Thanks!" cheerfully at the bottom of the bill and then an unmistakeable arrow pointing to the bottom line of text on the receipt that says "Gratuity: 15%" and directs you to pay your server..." Just plain bad all around.

Jolly's Indian Bistro2928 W 4th, Vancouver
Still good but not quite what it used to be
Submitted Friday, May 21, 2010 - 7:03pm [Dine in]

We have been ordering from Jolly's for years. Still pretty good but since moving to their new location, portions have become less reliable for take out. Also, there is quite a bit of variability in the same entree from time to time; this didn't use to bother us but the last time we ordered, our favorites just weren't good enough for the price that we now pay since the prices were raised. We will give it another shot but have been dissappointed that last few visits.

Cheap, authentic indian in Kitsilano

New Indian eatery that gives another option for quick eats in the area. Very friendly owners who cook authentic indian food. Delicious, fast and very affordable. Not the kind of place to go for a nice dinner but good for a quick bite, lunch or pick up. Will definitely be back.

Quite Pleased

Had a nice meal here last evening. Lovely little patio for the late afternoon sun. Service was friendly and helpful. Several lovely BC wines at reasonable rates by the glass. Went here because of the sustainably-farmed/harvested meat and seafood as we just have a hard time enjoying meals these days if it comes from essentially tortured animals. The bison was delicious with an outstanding chimchurri. The chicken with risotto and lemon gremolata was divine. Flourless chocolate cake was quite good but the vanilla bean ice cream was nothing special. Overall very pleased with this place and will be back.
