I have to say I haven't had the best experience with indian food. The cheap places were mediocre, the tasty places were horribly expensive. And then there's this place, which has taken the best of both and combined into a nice little buffet. We tried the $7.95 lunch buffet in their first week of opening and were instantly hooked. For the price, I was expecting a couple different versions of the same curry. But each dish had it's own unique taste. I've been back several times since.
The chai is a nice touch, and I like how attentive they were to refill our water, which is good for them too since it's a buffet. The naan could be a little less crispy, but for the most part it's adequately fluffy. All in all I left satisfied, and with enough money left to get something tasty for the family. As for ambience, it's a little loud, both color and music wise, but it does fit the mood.
I had been hoping for a decent indian place for a while, and now I have this one so close by. Will definitely be back several times with friends. The tiny samosas are awesome.
Every now and then I go here with my boyfriend and have yet to be disappointed by the food. The price works well for my student budget. Personal favorites include the duck noodles (if you're scared of spicy, this is the one for you, and my most favorite), the beef satay noodles, and the coconut curry with prawns on rice. The decor is simple, yet cute. Creative use of Christmas baubles. Employee dress code is very relaxed, with jeans and t-shirts, but somehow adds to the feel of the place.
Most times I've been there around late afternoon we've had no problem with getting seats. Although today I decided to go there for lunch and realized just how popular this place was. Had to wait about 15 minutes for them to clear a table, and ordering was slightly hectic, but care was still put into the food itself. The ingredients were nicely arranged and the dishes looked, smelled, and tasted pretty decent.
For $6-7 a bowl, don't come here looking for the 5 star experience and whining when you don't get it. This is a neat little place to eat tasty noodles with a small group of friends, and is especially comforting when the weather takes a turn towards miserable (nothing better than a spicy bowl of satay beef noodles after coming out of the cold). I plan on coming back whenever the craving hits, and probably bringing friends.
With an East meets West style menu, the food was delicious and I enjoyed every bite, regretting that i got full before I could finish my alfredo. The service was fast and the waiters were courteous, save for one bald guy who kept tripping the others. The restaurant has a somewhat classy (dare I say romantic) feel to it, with dark wood and white tablecloths, yet it still maintains a light mood, making it a nice place to snack with friends, or bring a date. All in all, I enjoyed the experience and plan on visiting again soon.
