Tsolias does Greek food right!
Submitted Tuesday, November 29, 2011 - 1:35am [Dine in]

Tsolias is a small family run restaurant, chances are if you stop by you'll be served by one of the daughters and your food will be made by the dad. The chef grew up in Greece so the food is very authentic, it's also priced so well you wonder how they make any profit. Portions are large and the food is fresh and delicious.

Probably the best items on the menu are:
- Houmos: Definitely the best I've ever had, it must be made with very high quality olive oil as it's texture is creamy and almost buttery
- Arni Psito: Roast lamb shoulder that practically melts in your mouth, if mustard isn't your thing ask for it on the side instead
- Kota Skaras: Charbroiled Chicken Breast, absolutely delicious

Everything comes with huge helpings of greek salad, rice, pita bread, and vegetables. It's very filling so make sure you come hungry!

Delicious
Submitted Saturday, October 9, 2010 - 1:28pm [Dine in]

The food was great, it was my first experience with Greek food and it definitely made me want more. The service was good too, we barely had to wait and our server was courteous and pleasant. I wasn't the one paying for this dinner, so I can't really comment on the value, but I don't think it was too outrageous. The ambiance! This restaurant was beautifully decorated, when I walked in I didn't feel like I was in Mallairdville, I felt like I had stepped through the wardrobe and was now in tiny Greek world. All through the meal there was something interesting to look at and it was just very beautiful.

feel healthily full for $10!!!!!!

I LOVEEEEEEEE the chili, only $7 and HUGE!!!! The nachos are also ENORMOUS, go for a small I've never been brave enough to order a large, mingling yams are also a treat, absolutely DELICIOUS!!! Servers are quirky, typical east van hipsters, but who can really blame them for being so ambivalent about everything... haha they're probably writing a screenplay/novel/poem that will change the world so who can really blame them for not exactly being enthusiastic. The ambiance is decent, this isn't fine dining, you're eating for ten dollars here, the glasses are jam jars in traditional hipster eatery fashion and the walls are covered in quotes which at least supply a bit of entertainment when waiting for food. The best part is after you leave you feel soooo full, and you don't have to feel guilty about it because everything you ate was vegetarian and healthy.

Sushi California501A North Rd, Coquitlam
Great Food for the sushi loving vegetarian
Submitted Saturday, October 9, 2010 - 10:41am [Dine in]

As a vegetarian when it comes to sushi I'm all about the appetizers. The Gomae at Sushi California is AMAZING!!! Tons of delicious sesame sauce!!! The Agedashi Tofu is also a treat, Spicey Agedashi is even better if you like a kick, huge portion size too, for vegetarians just make sure you ask for it without the fish flakes!!! Veggie Roll here is also very good, they have this delicious brown root in it that's very tasty. The service varies but you can't expect too much as there are only a couple of servers on and the place is packed, if they hired more servers they'd have to raise their prices so personally I'm fine with having a little slower service if it's accompanied by low prices!!!
