Wow, just had dinner at SOCIETY in Yaletown, food was amazing. Classic comfort food done better then momma use to make. I had the grilled caesar salad my wife the mac and cheese balls to start and they were both very good. Who would have thought macaroni and jalepeno's with cheese breaded and deepfried. Sooooooooo Gooooood!! For Mains we had the beef ribs and Kobe Meatloaf both were really really good. The rib meat fell off the bone with this lovely smokey bbq sauce and the meatloaf was light and fluffy and had the best wild mushroom gravy. Obviously the Chef or chefs no exactly what to do with food here and although this is comfort food they can cook. For dessert the Junkfood platter has many little treats including COTTON CANDY! I mean WTF cotton candy, I haven't had that since I was a kid!! great job will be back for sure....

As a resident in the Kitsilano area and an old patron of the former Chianti's I had to check out the new Italian Kitchen's Trattoria on 4th. I have to say I was impressed with it all. It was really busy when we arrived and had to wait for a table which was fine as we were sat in ther lounge and had a drink and free tasty starter. When we got to our seats the server promptly came by to introduce herself and replenish our drinks. We order a brechetta platter which had a assortment of goodness on it (mushrooms, chic peas & tomatoes). Afterwards we shared some grilled prawns and lamb chops and we took advantage and ordered some side dishes of vegetables and this amazingly creamy gorgonzola polents with bolognese sauce in it!! Yummy. We decided not to eat dessert as we were full from the bottle of wine and food(which in total was 60$). Service was great and the manager was very kind stopping by our table and the ones next to us to say hi. The room was electric with an amazing buzz from the action from the kitchen and the pace of the dinning room. The Chef was very vocal and entertaining as he shouted orders at the young cooks behind the line which made for great entertainment, we loved it. I have to say honestly bang for buck this place is amazing, its not pretentious or stuffy and over done. They have done a great job with the old restaurant and it is a very welcomed change to other places along 4th avenue. My wife and I have already told people to go and eat there and you can bet that we will be back again and agin. Great job to the owners of this restaurant and their team. Well done, Thanks
