Silver Dragon Restaurant1564 George St, White Rock
Worst Customer Service Ever
Submitted Saturday, August 15, 2009 - 9:02pm [Dine in]

We have been going to the Silver Dragon for quite some time. However, this evening we called in a delivery order and were told that they would arrive in 45 minutes to one hour. We live in an apartment and the volume on the phone is quite low, we were in the other room where we weren't able to hear the phone, at 6:30 we went into the main room where we could hear the phone - and received a call from the delivery man. He said that he had been waiting for 15 minutes and then swore at us. If he had been waiting 15 minutes they would have arrived in 15 minutes being at the least a 1/3 of the time they said they would arrive in.

We phoned the restaurant and spoke to the manager to complain. I explained the issue - she sounded skeptical and said that she had never had a problem with the driver before. I said that I was glad to hear that and I accept responsibility that we weren't paying attention for him to arrive so early, but I asked for an apology. She said she was sorry but then said that she had no time for me and didn't want me to phone her again. I found this to be an extremely rude and unsatisfactory way to solve the problem.

I had originally only wanted an apology from her for the driver's behaviour, but after her attitude on the phone I decided to go down to the restaurant and speak to her in person to ask for a refund.

When I arrived there the driver came over and sincerely apologized. I accepted it and was very happy with the fact that he did it. However, when the manager came over, she was just as rude as on the phone. She wouldn't even calmly speak to me and said that she was going to get the police involved. She walked over to the police officers sitting in the corner of the restaurant and explained the situation to them. They said that that is not the kind of thing they get involved in since it is just a customer service matter and maybe she should just give us a discount.

She walked back over to us and we asked her if we could just have a refund. She flat out refused and then told us to get out and that we were not welcome there anymore. Of course by that point we weren't inclined to want to go there ever again.

Overall it was the worst customer service experience I have ever had in my life. I was just dumbfounded that she not only didn't care about the problem but made it out that we were the ones who were causing the trouble. I would never go back and I wouldn't recommend that anyone else go there either.

Chambar568 Beatty Street, Vancouver
One of the Best Restaurants in Vancouver
Submitted Monday, September 3, 2007 - 4:41pm [Dine in]

This is a really cool restaurant its in an old building on Beatty street and looks out over False Creek. I've been here a few times and I'm always really impressed. The duck confit comes with spiced wine and is awesome! The mussles are delicious too and you get a huge pot of them for $19, (I shared them with my girlfriend as a main course), and they even come with pommes frites. The service is fantastic, our waiters have always been very attentive, for example they know exactly when you're ready to order or when you want something. My girlfriend remarked that her water glass never made it past half empty because whenever it got close they were right over to fill it all up. Also what I think is a nice touch is that they only set out the cutlery that you need for each course and then bring the proper cutlery for each successive course. All in all its a fantastic restaurant and a really great value.

Great Brunch!
Submitted Monday, September 3, 2007 - 4:35pm [Dine in]

I went in here with my girlfriend for brunch a few days ago and it was great! There's a really cool atmosphere in this place you really feel like you are in a real french bistro and the service definatley matches. The staff was really friendly and attentive and really seemed to know what they were doing. We both had mimosas and I had a croque-monsieur with pomme frites while my girlfriend had a smoked salmon omlette with leeks and parmeasan, both of us agreed that it was delicious, and quite inexpensive at $12.50 each. All in all I would highly recommend this place and we wouldn't hesitate to go for brunch again or maybe try them for dinner.

Feenie's2563 W Broadway, Vancouver
Submitted Monday, September 3, 2007 - 4:22pm [Dine in]

I've been to Feenie's once before and I'll admit that it was pretty good, not as good as all the hype, but still good. So I decided to go there with my family for my birthday the other day, and the service left a lot to be desired. Our waitress was fairly pleasent but lacked the finesse that most servers in higher end restaurants have. The real problem however was that she forgot to put the order for my entree into the kitchen, so everyone else gets their entrees and she just tells me that mine will be out in a couple of minutes...not great but still okay. 15 minutes later it finally comes and by now we're not too impressed. So we decide to talk to the manager and he doesn't even seem to care too much and to top it off he gives us attitude and finally walks away without resolving anything. I've never had anything like this happen in any kind of restaurant before, not even in a White Spot. Needless to say none of us will be back.
