Bella Pizza4775 Blundell Road, Richmond
This pizza is KING
Submitted Friday, June 26, 2009 - 12:43am [Dine in]

We ordered for delivery and I must say that Bella Pizza is simply outstanding. It is delicious with generous amount of toppings on it. Tastes like the better pizzas of the 70s and 80s rather than the new millenium style of charge and skimp. Good price and pizza the way it should be made.

Service was faster than ever. I'll always order from Bella from now on.

Gigi's Pizza & Spaghetti House189 West Broadway, Vancouver
excellent pizza
Submitted Friday, June 26, 2009 - 12:38am [Dine in]

We ordered pizza from Gigi's and I must say it was a fantastic pizza. The service was slow as molasses but the end result was a good ol' fashioned pizza like I used to have when I was younger.

I'm sorry for the fellow below who got grinded for a tip. That was unfortunate. Hope Gigi's gets their delivery situation ironed out.

Vera's Burger Shack7999 Granville Street, Vancouver
Inconsistent
Submitted Sunday, March 8, 2009 - 1:00am [Dine in]

The first time I ate at Vera's the burger was fantastic. The second time it was good. This last time the burger was average with no care in preparation. I do agree with a lot of you that this location has a staff that just does not care about their job. Customer service does not exist. Food handling is abysmal. Cash handled with bare hands and then the cook goes back in building the burger. No gloves, no washing of hands. I'm calling the owner of this location and ask him what his food safety standards are.

They need consistancy in their preparation of the food. I don't really want to go back to this location again.

Mongolie Grill8400 Alexandra Road, Richmond
OK Experience but rather pricey
Submitted Tuesday, May 6, 2008 - 8:51pm [Dine in]

My brother in law and myself have gone to Mongolie many times. At first my food was a mish mash as others claim but with practice it turned out good. One thing I do have to say is that you need to know what sauces to use with what foods and not to go overboard.

I agree with many of the reviewers in that you are forced to put this meal together yourself and for the money they charge, for the majority of people you won't be getting your money's worth. This concept requires you to go many times "to get it right." Most people, and rightfully so, won't have the patience like I did. Overall the concept of build your meal restaurant like this simply does not work. My biggest knock against this restaurant is that they charge a lot of money for a meal YOU pieced together yourself. Service is good when you come in but at the second half of your stay, forget about it. They are too busy with others coming in.

Try it at your risk and experiment or head the reviews of many below and don't go there.

Charthouse Restaurant3866 Bayview Street, #200, Richmond
A sad tourist trap
Submitted Friday, March 28, 2008 - 11:26pm [Dine in]

We had a party of four at this establishment. Friday night and few people there. No wonder. I had the Penne with cheese which was full of vegetables, a bit of penne and some sprinkled cheese up top. The sauce was greasy and oily. Absolutely disgusting. So bad in fact that when the waiter came after a few minutes to ask how our meals were, for the first time in my life I asked him to just take it back. I told him it was just greasy and oily. He removed it from our table. My wife's Madagascar Prawns were swimming in this pool of sauce. Her meal was 19.95 for a few prawns. I tasted them and they were just awful plain and simple. My brother in law had large prawns and a baked potato. It didn't look to appetizing to me.

Our waiter was very polite and apologetic. I was very nice to him since he did try hard to please us. The service was good.

I will never go back to the Charthouse Restaurant again. A tourist trap and a total waste of money.

A good mocha
Submitted Friday, March 14, 2008 - 9:34pm [Dine in]

I used to go to Artigiano regularly and I love their mocha. They also make good panini sandwiches. Haven't been there in a while so I don't know what it's like now. Service was quite good. I would like to go again.

good pizza
Submitted Thursday, March 13, 2008 - 5:34pm [Dine in]

York Fresh Pizza is good but quite expensive. It was a while when I last ate there but when I ordered two pizzas I thought I had to go and pawn my car to get them. Like to try them again but I'm a bit apprehensive. Still a very good pizza.

Thai House Restaurant4940 No. 3 Road, #129, Richmond
Excellent service and Food
Submitted Thursday, February 7, 2008 - 11:40pm [Dine in]

My wife, son, brother in law, and myself had an excellent evening at the Thai House. I have never had Thai food before and I must say Thai is a wonderful cuisine. We had ordered in as well and the food was equally good. Some of the dishes may be a bit spicy but that is perhaps how Thai cuisine is prepared. Would love to visit Thai House again.

good pizaa
Submitted Thursday, February 7, 2008 - 11:00pm [Dine in]

I have been eating and ordering from this restaurant for years now. I has changed locations and the food is still good. Take home was average and the different cooks make for an average pizza sometimes but overall through the years their pizza is very good.

A beautiful restaurant
Submitted Wednesday, February 6, 2008 - 10:29pm [Dine in]

What ambience! Looking at Stanley Park, the West End, Downtown, the mountains. The food was very good, especially their prime rib. Service was good also. I love the dark cozy atmosphere with tall tall windows. This restaurant feels like class and its worth it. Will visit again for sure.

Been twice and no regrets
Submitted Wednesday, February 6, 2008 - 10:16pm [Dine in]

I have been twice to this restaurant, once for lunch and another time for dinner. Both times my food was very good. For lunch I ate a juicy steak and for the dinner visit pasta. When you are on a nice revolving restaurant with angled windows floor to ceiling viewing the city, the harbour and the mountains what would you expect for ambience. I would love to dine there again.

Cafe Crepe is cozy and fun
Submitted Wednesday, February 6, 2008 - 9:26pm [Dine in]

I have been to Cafe Crepe many times and I must say their food and atmosphere is great. It is something different from a typical restaurant and it's a cozy place to hang out, especially on a cold rainy night. I will continue to visit this restaurant.

Great Ambience, OK Food
Submitted Saturday, February 2, 2008 - 8:04pm [Dine in]

I have been to George's Taverna several times and I must say the ambience is great. Where I have my reservations is in the quality of the food. Portions are great and prices are good but I feel the establishment uses too much MSG in their preservatives. The food tastes great but when I go home I feel very bloated and heavy. I do not feel like this at other Greek restaurants. The service is a tad too slow. The restaurant is in a good location in Steveston Village.
