My first visit was back in February while the original chef was still in the picture. It was fantastic and we were looking forward to bringing the whole family in the next few months. Just before our second visit, I went online to look at the menu again and realized that some items had changed and prices had increased... hmmm. I checked here for some recent reviews and like Adam, was almost scared off but the family had already made reservations so we went ahead with our plans.
Starters were crab bisque, pan-seared calamari, and antipasto platters. Although our platters were given to the wrong table and we had to wait for ours to be remade, it was worth the wait! Main courses were Mushroom Risotto, Seafood Risotto, Gnocchi Pomadoro, Salmon with Scallops (daily special), and mom, who eats like a bird, scarfed down an entire plate of Veal Limone! The entire family is Italian, except for myself, and we all enjoyed every single morsel of our dinners! One guest commented that the gnocchi was better than his mother's. This almost created a riot!
I'm glad we didn't let other reviews scare us off. Try it for yourselves.

Granted it was a very busy night at this newly renovated restaurant, but the service and food were terrible. I called in an order and was told it would be a half hour wait. I arrived 30 minutes after ordering and paid for the food plus a generous tip and was told it would be just another 5-10 minutes. After standing in the lobby for 20 minutes I approached the girl at the counter and asked how much longer I would have to wait. "5 more minutes." After another 10 minutes I was told again "5 more minutes." And again after waiting yet another 10 minutes I was told "5 more minutes." I told her if it was any longer than 5 minutes I would be taking back my money and going elsewhere. Finally my food appeared and I left muttering that this better be the best food ever... It wasn't.
Deep Fried Shrimp Spring Rolls - 5 for $4.50. Passable. Some flavour but quite greasy.
Sauted Prawns with Ginger - flavourless, served on mostly celery with two carrot slices and a few snow peas. Not a speck of ginger to be seen.
Diced Chicken with Cashew Nuts - I have no idea what this would have tasted like as they gave us dried out pork fried rice instead.
Shrimp and BBQ Pork Fried Rice - see above. Dried out and flavourless. My boyfriend literally choked on it.
Chinese Mushroom and Chicken Chow Mein - About 6 peices of slimy chicken and baby bok choy served on vermicelli noodles. Again, flavourless and not a single mushroom to be seen.
Normally I would take this as a lesson learned, but I packed everything up and brought it back to the restaurant and asked for my money back. They offered to give me the cashew chicken that was left sitting on the counter, and to give me a free main course at a later date... No thanks. They gave me my cash back and I let her keep the tip.
