Jambo Grill is an interesting place to dine in. The east African and Indian mix is a totally different. It's not a fusion cuisine but the menu represents highlights from both backgrounds. My wife and I read about this restaurant from the Vancouver sun and decided to check it out.

We are glad we went the food was really tasty we started of with a dish called Mogo which was suggested to us from our server, it is fried cassava tossed in spices which was really crispy and had some nice heat to it. Then I had the Lamb curry with naan bread the lamb was tender and the server told us that the naan bread is made in the clay tandoor ovens that they have. My wife had the mishkhaki which is beef marinated in spices and grilled , this was so so tasty. they have the African pili pili sauce which really does add a kick to the dishes. All in all a great experience and look forward to bringing some friends with us next time to try more unique dishes.

My wife and I recently had dinner at caffe de medici on Robson street, we came across it by accident as it's in a small in-cove along the busy street. We were greeted with warmth from whom i assume is the restaurant manger and shown to our seats, the dinning room is very elegant in style and the lively Italian music playing made us feel like we just stepped into a holiday vacation away! I ordered the calamari dish with sauce nero and seared scallops and my wife went for the foie gras terrine which were both outstanding and very nicely presented on large white plates.
Next i Went for the special rib-eye steak which was cooked medium rare to perfection served with a blue cheese butter and my wife had the local salmon with dungeness crab risotto. I enquired about the restaurant chef and he is a young chef from London who is well trained thank you great job I forgot his name though sorry
The service was attentive and professional. We will be back again thank you
