Wok Box7322 King George Highway, #110, Surrey
Cooked just like Grandma used to like! :(
Submitted Friday, April 9, 2010 - 6:04pm [Dine in]

First of all, Granny was not asian, and she loved her vegies cooked until they were just like mush.
All i should have to say is 'the broccoli was mush'.
Never had worse cooked asian food in my life.
I'm uncertain of what they were trying for but it was barely what one could call asian influenced!? In my opinion the portions were small considering what they were charging. Good luck to Wok Box cuz they'll never make it if this is the norm for them.

Vera's Burger Shack7218 King George Highway, Surrey
Sloppy,Sloppy, Sloppy!!!

We ate here twice. Only because i forgot how mediocre the burger was.
They're charging a lot for what you get. There is absolutely no ambiance, but that's hardly why i go out for a burger. Their facility is absolutely filthy behind the counter. If they're going to let ppl see what's going on back there they should at least try to keep it moderately clean. It was gross, and what made it worse was watching the ham handed 'chef' tossing around food, dropping food all over then walking in it,etc. The floor was absolutely discusting back there. I won't be going back. If the burgers were incredible, i would get over the fact they're piggies. They're not.

If you are looking for abience, FORGET ABOUT IT.
If you are hoping for great service, you won't be impressed.
If you are looking for great chinese food, i can almost guarantee that you will not be disappointed. The veggies are so fresh and they are cooked to perfection. I've had prawns here a few different times but...... i was very impressed. Big fat juicey crispy prawns. The food here is done right!! The service is lame, almost non-existent and it's just a little hole in the wall of a restaurant but the food makes it so definitely worth it. The chef is just good at what he does. Reminds me of the Soup Natzi from Seinfeld. :)

My Greek Taverna6450 120 Street, Surrey
In Surrey this place gets my money every time
Submitted Friday, December 14, 2007 - 8:30pm [Dine in]

My g/f and i have been here 4 or 5 times and the service has been excellent everytime, the food is served hot and without too much of a wait. The food is definitely above par for your traditional greek food restaurant. It's a nice family run restaurant and i am always greeted with a warm smile and some nice cheery greek music that is not too loud, which kinda suits me cuz i can only handle so much greek music. You may be treated to earshot of brother and sister having a little arguement about something or other in low volume in greek and with love behind it and to me that's truly music to my ears. My lady always gets the Kalamari and we share of course and it's always hot and tender and tasty, just the way we like it, with traditional tatziki, no surprises. I usually order the roast lamb shoulder and it comes to me the same each time cooked just the way i like it, falling apart soft and juicey, exploding with flavour. I wish the greek salad came with a couple more of those nice olives rather than just one as a topper, but... ya know....some ppl still just waste theirs, so i don't blame them. Come to think of it, they'd probably give me a couple extra if i asked. I think i'll try that NEXT TIME *wink* Hope you enjoy this place as much as i do if you give it a try. Oh yeah...and .... be sure to try the saganaki, which is the fried cheese, man is it good. My lady and i just get the one order and share that with a little squeeze of lemon. Yum!!

Damn Good For Pub Fare
Submitted Friday, December 14, 2007 - 8:07pm [Dine in]

Well well, quite a nice surprise for my lady and myself to eat at this pub which recently changed from Gary T's. We tried Gary T's ONCE and that was pretty much enough for us. I simply had to find a venue to express my appreciation for this new pub Celtic Times this also being my first review here on 'dinehere' and first time to have the inspiration to do so . We had the good luck to have decided to try things out on a thursday which is ap special night 3-9pm i think, and it is two aps for $11. My g/f ordered her usual , she loves Kalamari and we were not disappointed. It was tender hot and tasty and the make this interesting dip rather than Tatziki sauce which is a cashew and red onion in yogurt. I ordered the stuffed yorkshire pudding which is two yorkies stuffed with shaved angus beef topped with gravy and horseradish drizzle. I haven't really had yorkshires but i think they are supposed to be a little more fluffy and flakey. These yorkies seemed to be more like a nice type of soft roll but i must say..... they were still pretty damn good. The portion was a lot bigger than i would have expected and the gravy was excellent. My lady ordered a burger with bacon and cheese and mushrooms and... i tried it and man.... i was impressed and so was she. I know i know..... just a burger but, IT WAS EXCELLENT. I also ordered the shaved angus and the yorkshire for the main course which seems kinda brave to me now considering i was not well versed in yorkshires , nor had i eaten here before.... hmmm... anyway... i got lucky cuz the presentation was excellent the veggies were little carrots sauteed in butter and herbs with some really sweet yellow beets and a couple spears of asparagus and mashed potatoes and gravy on the angus and yorkies. I'll say it again...... DAMN IMPRESSED i highly recommend it. It's better than earls the keg sammy j peppers and the cactus club.
