Nice place for a late meal
Submitted Monday, July 9, 2007 - 9:29pm [Dine in]

Went here the other day with a bunch of friends after Transformers. Wanted to go to Sushi garden but it was already closed. So we opted for RR just across the street. No regrets here. Our server was very polite, timely and accomodating to our requests. Despite the fact that they were about to close in less than 30 mins, she didn't rush us or anything. Food arrived very promptly after we ordered and she even recommended bringing out a few basket of fries since the kitchen was going to be closing soon. That's awesome as the fries there rock!! I had the Whiskey burger which tasted amazing to my surprise considerring it was a late meal on a Sunday night. All my buds enjoyed their burgers and wraps. Overall, it's a safe bet to go to if your hungry for a late night snack.

Great Food combined with Fast Service and Cheap Prices...Nuff said!!

I've been working in their neighborhood for the past year and didn't even know this place existed until my 2nd last day on the job!! Would definitely have went to this place sooner had I known earlier. This place is awesome for a quick lunch as it is not normally that busy. Service is fast and attentive. The portions are tremendous. I had the roast lamb while co-workers ordered lamb, chicken or beef souvlaki. We had calamari and prawns to start. The prawns were tasty albeit portions a bit small. The calamari was very juicy and well cooked. And yes, as another reviewer said, they used a lighter batter which maginified the flavours of the calamari even more.
My roast lamb was succulent and very tender. Tremendous portions as it would have been enough to feed me for both lunch and dinner (and I can stuff it quite a bit myself). For the $10.95 price, it's definitely a steal and an excellent alternative to those who rather not drive all the way to downtown for Greek. My co-workers enjoyed their dishes very much. We all agreed that we would be back here again within the near future. Overall, it was an awesome dining experience for the cost. Good job!! Do keep it up!!

Not Bad but not spectacular
Submitted Thursday, May 17, 2007 - 10:30am [Dine in]

We had dinner the other night at Alekos to see what the other reviewers were raving about. Turns out to be an okay-but-not-great experience. The service was polite, attentive and courteous. Pita bread was alright. We had the slow roasted lamb and the top sirloin steak. The potatoes were well cooked, the vegetable was fresh and the rice pilaf was tasty. The lamb was tender and juicy but I've had better at other Greek places. The sirloin steak, while not bad, is nothing to rave about. For the prices they charge, there are better Greek food out there. The service and atmosphere was quite pleasant. May be back again someday.

Aji Taro4940 No. 3 Road, #101, Richmond
Definitely Downhill
Submitted Wednesday, May 9, 2007 - 3:41pm [Dine in]

Having not visited the place for over a year, I went for the late nite ayce dinner with a couple of buddies on a Wednesday nite a couple of weeks ago.
I've always known Aji Taro be a good value in terms of the quality of their food. However, things have changed and not for the better unfortunately. Service was unattentive as it took awhile for us to flag down the servers who acted as if none of us existed. Then it's about a 30 min wait to get our first round of food served. No apologies from the server either. They didn't appear too busy as it was around 10:30 with not many clients since it was a weekday.
The food was a big disappointment. I always look forward to the teriyaki hot plates but this time it tasted really bland. The sushi was not fresh and the deep fried stuff tasted like they were double(or even triple) fried.
Overall, it might be another year or two before I try this place again. If ever...
