My personal favorites are the Veggie Burger, Pasta Buffet, Nachos, and Fish 'n Chips. I haven't had a bad meal here. I would like to see more vegetarian options but hey, it's a pub!
A lot of friends and family that I've brought here love that we can safely stumble home since it's in central Pitt Meadows. The typical food items they order include wings, burgers, and the weekend steak special. They do offer a wide variety of large salads as well. My running group would go out after a run for a big Chop Chop or Taco Salad. So, I've taken a few people here over the years without complaint.
Cross that out - The People - that work here are the heart of the pub. In this industry I don't expect a lot of long term employee's but the Coachman does. There are employees that have been working here for over ten years and longer. They are team in every sense of the word and you can tell. They pitch in and help each other out with a smile. They are never under staffed (well, rarely). They have time to get to know the regular folks and believe me there are a few. No, I'm not one of them. The employees are hard working, happy employees that all seem to get along. I work in the business world and I think we can learn about teamwork from this group. Do I know any of the employees personally? Nope. Aside from a quick chat while placing my order. So I can say that this review is free from opinion. It is a review that has been earned over the 6+ years I have been coming here.
To Coachman I say keep up the good work, the great food and the people are the heart of your business. Think about renovating in the future but nothing too crazy - how about killing the carpet? As I mentioned, a lot of us city folks are moving out and we're used to "newer" establishments. A little weak here and there would be nice (kinda like the new washrooms) but keep the core and heart of the Coachman alive.
On a final note, definitely keep up the community involvement. We love to come by and listen to live music or see employees dressed up as pirates for Pitt Meadows Day.
