Aoki Sushi1888 W. Broadway St, Vancouver
Love this place!
Submitted Monday, April 19, 2010 - 8:57am [Dine in]

We live in Kits on closer to the water so there are many sushi places on W. 4th that compete for our sushi dollars, but Aoki has got to be the best all around!
It is a further walk for us but way worth it in terms of the food. We ordered the S+T Combo - 4 salmon and 4 tuna nigiri which were delicious, the salmon nigiri were definitly a highlight of the meal - bright, fresh and delicous.
We also ordered an appetizer Tempura, Spicy Tuna roll and a Catepillar roll.
The tempura was good, catepillar roll was nice as well (big roll) but the spicy tuna roll was unreal! Another highlight.
Lastly the service in this place is so nice, the women working are so friendly, true japanese service. You have to love the free appetizer you get as soon as you sit down as well.
Mmmmm with the weather warming up I can't wait to go for a walk up to Aoki for another Spicy Tuna roll and Salmon nigiri....Love it!

Good Spot for Sushi

I have eated at Sushi town about 3-4 times now, and really good food. Very good gyoza, HUGE tuna sashimi pieces, the awesome roll is also really good (although the benito is a little fishy for my tastes)
All in all very good, afordable food. We were happy with everything we ordered and will be back a lot!

Awesome Fish!
Submitted Thursday, February 7, 2008 - 3:37pm [Dine in]

My boyfriend took me to Sandbar for my birthday a month or so ago and it was great!
We were early for our reservation but they seated us right away anyways and had very fast drink service. Ordered appetizers (Wok Fried Squid and Spicy Tuna Roll) which were very good. The squid had great flavour but was a little bit chewy, still great though. The roll was really tasty with a nice bit of heat to it.
Dinner was the seared Ahi Tuna with cucumber relish and wasabi chipotle sauce....AMAZING....
The tuna was cooked to perfection and the sauce/garnish was delicious. My boyfriend got the steak and prawns and while his was good he wished he had ordered fish (he can't stay away from red meat though).
Ambiance was great, we sat on the patio beside the window, and it was a little bit chilly for me. Next time I will sit near the interior of the patio.
The only thing I didn't like was the lounge like chairs that we had! I felt like I had to lean so far over to reach my plate and couldn't stretch my legs under the table.
Service was very attentive and friendly.
All in all it was great food and I will be back!
