Great little Indian restaurant in Vancouver - at the top of my list for Indian. Good food, comfortable and nicely decorated. The curries are good and authentic punjabi-style. The decor is enjoyable. The restaurant is clean and service is prompt and friendly. Would definately recommend.

Have been to this Sala Thai location a few times, progressively got worse. The food is generally very good (great thick red curry, wonderful pad thai), but the service is absolutely terrible. In a group of 2, the waiter gave me a hard time for wanted to modify my order a little, he yelled at me for not wanting to eat authentically. I was most embarassed in front of my dinner date. Took a party of 10 there another time (the last time) - the time between the first and last person served was 1 full hour! And they didn't care. One order was forgotten and at the end of the hour they asked if that person "still wanted it". They didn't care at all, the manager was useless. They knew the 15% gratuity was going to be automatically added, so they didn't care whatsoever. Upon leaving I told the manager I likely wouldn't return, he said fine, no problem, bye. It was worse with the bigger group, no doubt due to the automatic gratuity. Is there any getting around that gratuity? Wouldn't recommend this place even if the food is decent. Try Thai House on Burrard and 7th.
