We have lived on the shore for just over 8 years now. We love pizza and have sampled from many. This is the place we call. The price / quality combination here cannot be beat. In fact, in terms of quality - I'm not sure there are even equals. DJJs is not bad, but not quite. Veneto on Lonsdale is probably in the same ballpark, but it takes those guys an hour to produce what Aria does in 20 minutes. Rebellious Tomato, Panago, Bella, Hell, DDDN need not apply.
We live in the area around Sushi Mori and have ordered there probably once a month since we've moved into the area. We've always done take out - so can't really comment on service and ambiance.
Food wise though, this is above average fare. It's high end quality, offering some interesting rolls on and off the menu. Mango Roll #2 and Rainbow roll are favourites in our home. Also - ask if there are any specials - often on the walls there will be off menu rolls that are very tasty.
Tempura's are crisp and not greasy. Sashimi is thick cut and good quality.
You can find cheaper, but you won't find cheaper with equal quality. If you're looking for just your cheap salmon and tuna shop, I'd say go to Gen on Lonsdale. If you want to spend a little more and treat yourself to some great flavours, Sushi Mori is your spot.
Thanks to the previous review (by bliss) for suggesting this might be a safe place to go with kids! Finally, an alternative to Boston Pizza, Red Robin and Kelsey's.
First, for adults - it's a brew pub, so beer is good. The red truck is the house brew, and I'd recommend the ale. For food, wife ordered pasta, I had pizza - no complaints. Good stuff. Atmosphere is nice as well - upper end brew pub.
For kids - hostess provides cute "chinese take-out" style loot boxes with crayons and bendable twisty stick things the kids (ours are 5 and 2) had fun playing with. Definitely a step above the typical crayons and colouring menus. Then, to our surprise, a roaming magician came by and did a couple coin tricks (I couldn't figure out how he did them) and made two balloon animals for the kids. (We were there on a Friday, not sure if he's there every night).
One tip: If it's a cold night, ask for table far from the entrance. We didn't and were quite chilly as people came in and out.
Bottom line - this was only our first visit, but Taylor's Crossing could easily become our #1 choice on the shore. Good beer, decent food, entertainment for the kids. This really is a family friendly brew pub.
The first (Kujibo) review hit the nail on the head. The price is cheap, and the quality is on par with the price.
We've ordered three times, and service and quality each time was very consistent. Their phone etiquette is pleasant, the delivery time is fast , always quicker than their estimated time they give you on the phone. The quality is low. It's not horrible, it's just not great pizza. Crust is unpleasantly chewy, toppings are plenty, but do not reach the outter rims of pizza, leaving you with a lot of crust on the edges.
I won't be ordering from here anymore unless, as the previous reviewer mentionned, I'm ordering for a kids party.
