An English pub style restaurant at Lonsdale Quay that is a pleasent location for lunch. The clientele seems to be mainly seniors. The food was good but not outstanding, I enjoyed my salmon burger. There is a wide variety of pub food along with bugers and sandwiches.
I have not been here for awhile; this used to be my favorite greek restaurant, but it is just ordinary ( I understand it is under new ownership). Nothing unpleasant just ordinary; nothing stands out, portions are large, but the taste does not seem to be here as it once was.
Terra Breads produces some of the best bread in the Vancouver area; the only bad thing is that there are limited places to purchase it. But the real pleasure of visiting a Terra Breads shop is the selection of outstanding baked goods. My favorite item is the roasted red pepper + spinach with asiago cheese focaccia. They need a bakery in North Vancouver.
This place in the food fair at Lonsdale Quay has been around for a long time and always provides great fish and chips. You do not expect much in way of ambience from a food fair, but on a nice day the view of the harbour is super. The fish is lightly battered unlike other places and it helps make the fish nice and crispy. The fresh lemon and tarter sauce is a nice touch.
Been coming here off and on for a number of years; basically a cheap old school Chinese place. The food can vary a lot, but most of the time it's decent. Service is hit or miss, but the place is busy, so that's a bit of an excuse. Come in December you can pick up a nice bamboo calendar.
I have eaten here a few times; the food is better than average (food rating if they allowed half stars would be 3.5 stars), but the service is really mediocre with missed or incorrect orders (this has happened on more than two occasions). The prices are high for what you get. The ambience for the booths is solid, but the tables are more in line with a low end place. Of the food the ribs are a must have item.
I have been here a few times and it is always a good deal. The fresh naan is excellent, the butter chicken is also very good: some of the other dishes today included a beef curry, a vegetable curry, and chicken tikka. From my experience it is best to get here close to noon, as the food is fresh; later if it is busy the popular items may be a bit depleted. At $11.95 is is an outstanding value.
Stopped today with a friend for a quick bite. Self service ordering, tea, and napkins. Had a California Roll, 3 peices of sushi and miso soup, food was tasty, but not exceptional. An acceptable place but the value was not there due to all the self service.
If you are looking for a cheap filling meal of sushi this is your place. There are much better sushi places around, but value for $ this place, this place wins. You cannot beat the bento box specials at $5.95, chicken or beef teriyaki, tempura, and a California roll.
My friend had a coupon so we tried the 3 course meal. We both opted for the grean salad, crab topped salmon and a glass of wine. A dessert was available instead of the wine, there was a crab soup, a Caesar salad, and crab topped steak available. The salad was very good, and quite large, the salmon was excellent, but I found the crab topping only soso. Anyway with the $10 off each meal coupon this was an outstanding deal.
Stopped here for lunch. Service was quick and the tacos were great. I tried 4 varieties chicken mole (ok a little sweet) pork/pineapple (good), lamb (special, very good) and fish (great). Good selection on the self service sauces. If you want a quick and tasty snack/light meal this is the place.
We have eaten here a few times and always found the food to be very good. The service can be a little erratic here as they can get overloaded quickly as there were only 2 servers working tonight. The pasta dishes are always very good value and very tasty.
Met a friend here for dinner. It had a nice atmosphere; but service was slow at times. I would hardly call it Indian fusion...Mostly a touch of Indian; with a few standard Indian dishes. The shrimp pakoras were nice; but really battered shrimp served with a chutney. I had the halibut; which was good, but nothing special; my companion had the seafood salad, it had plenty of good seafood, but again nothing special. Overall just average.
Just back from a very good meal at Laziza. We used a travelzoo local special coupon for this meal. We both had the prawns sambucca to start, this was excellent. I had the duck in a pomegranate reduction which was very good; my companion had the lamb shank which was good but she did not care for the saffron rice. The creme brule dessert was ok. Overall it was a very nice meal.
I haved dined at Vij's for many years and it is always great. You go to Vij's for only one thing; the Food. The food is incredible. The service is the best I have experienced. The staff seem to anticipate everything. If you do not like waiting or must have a reservation then this is not for you. My only complaint is that one of my favorite dishes (Sablefish in a mango reduction) is no longer on the menu. Hopefully it will return.
We had a travel zoo coupon and had good service; we did not feel in anyway put down for using the coupon.
With the coupon we felt it was an outstanding value; but if I were paying full price; it would only be of average value. The set menu had a variety of choices.
