Chinese food here
Submitted Wednesday, August 12, 2009 - 9:39am [Dine in]

Went here expecting Thai food but it was more Chinese Thai food. Ordered the lettuce wrap, which didn't look anything like the photo in the menu. It had tiny bits of chicken with diced green, red, and yellow pepper. Disappointed but that was only the first dish. Then the green curry came. There was not much taste, just coconut milk. Even the paste i use at home tastes better than here. Again, it was red, yellow, and green pepper in the curry along with some eggplant, not the Thai green eggplants, just regular purple ones. Another disappointment. Finally, our seafood dish in special sauce came. The seafood had no taste, esp the mussels, squid, and shrimp. It didn't look appetizing at all, just a plate of brown sauce over some seafood and there was nothing special about the taste of the sauce. Noticed the same veggies in the sauce, you got it, green, red, and yellow peppers, sliced this time. All in all, more like cheap Chinese food than Thai food here. Won't ever be back.

Everything's great here

Went back to Arms Reach again this year during our annual summer vacation in Vancouver. The food quality hasn't changed. The beef dip was way better than any other ones we've tried. Definitely will come back again. We love this restaurant, the setting, the view, the service, the food. Everything's just wonderful!

Not Portuguese food
Submitted Tuesday, August 11, 2009 - 3:59pm [Dine in]

What is Portuguese about this restaurant? It just seems like another Italian restaurant serving pasta and risotto. Very disappointed in the menu selection as we were excited to go to a Portuguese restaurant. Alas, another Italian restaurant in disguise. For appetizer, had the clam and mussels cooked in white wine. I've never seen such small clams and mussels before in a restaurant. The duck breast was 4 slices served on top of very salty cooked veggies or something....i forget as i didn't eat it. Desserts were nothing special, the usual chocolate cake, tiramisu, fruits. Passed on this. They serve paella only on Sundays and roast suckling pig on Thursdays, which defeats the purpose of going there any other day cause it'll be Italian food only.
