Wicked Naan, Amazing Eggplant
Submitted Monday, August 17, 2009 - 1:38pm [Dine in]

This place makes some of the best Naan I've ever had, right in front of you in their tandoori oven. I'm a vegetarian, so I can't comment on the meats, but the people I go with always seem to love it. I am an eggplant fiend, and thus always get their eggplant dishes, with extra naan. Try the ice-cream, its also top notch. If you're looking for some excellent North Indian/Pakistani cuisine, Tandoori Palace is for you.

F.M. Classic Pizza589 West Pender Street, Vancouver
Loads of Toppings, plus Samosas!
Submitted Monday, August 17, 2009 - 1:24pm [Dine in]

This pizza joint is pretty solid. Its the best value for your buck, at only 1.25 - 1.50 per slice. You don't really need more than one slice either, because its huge. Tonnes of toppings, nice and saucy. Its best eaten fresh though, as the dough can be a bit chewy after a few hours. Its a step up from your traditional street pizza, and they have chutney and sauces you can put on your pizza. (They also sell Samosas, but they are not so good.) There's a strip of pizza joints along Pender and Seymore, and FM is definitely worth trying out. Lots of interesting pizzas, and it seems like a family run establishment which is always nice to see. Friendly staff, good food, cheap prices. What more do you want for Pizza?

Fantastic Pho
Submitted Tuesday, April 28, 2009 - 12:39pm [Dine in]

Pho Linh is a great little restaurant. The staff is extremely nice, helpful, and accomodating. The Pho is some of the best in the city, and you really get a great bang for your buck. A small size soup is normally more than enough for one, and if you order the Spring Rolls (which I suggest you do) you'll find there's about a dozen per order. This isn't fine dining or anything, but the charisma and aroma keeps me coming back for more. Its always a good sign when the restaurent is full of Vietnamese people speaking Vietnamese. (who would know better!)

Nor Boo Korean Restaurant1536 Robson St., Vancouver
Smashing Soft Veggie Tofu Soup!
Submitted Tuesday, April 28, 2009 - 12:35pm [Dine in]

Nor Boo has the best soft Tofu Soup I've ever had - including when I lived in Korea. Their Dol Sot Bibim bap is great as well, I find I normally get one or the other so I can't comment on the other dishes. The service leaves a little to be desired, but I think its more of a cultural difference than anything else. You're expected to flag down the waiter which isn't the custom in North America, yet in a strange way adds a feeling of authenticity to the experience. Water is served in large plastic containers, much as it often is in Korea as well. Tea is fabulous. Their late night hours is always a bonus as well.
