Indonesian food
Submitted Saturday, February 9, 2008 - 6:44pm [Dine in]

i stopped by the broadway station the other day, and decided to take out homecountry meal for my dinner at home. I got nasi goreng which is famous indonesian dish. It is quite decent... for taste i would give decent rate because it's is not great, and not too bad either. the rice is quite soggy and the chips are great. the service is solid, but the ambience was a little bit too dark.

Given the comment below, the original lamb stew from Indonesia is not that watery. I believe there are good Indonesian restaurants in town, however i'm new in town. havent got that much chances to try out all of them

are you late-night(ers)?
Submitted Thursday, September 7, 2006 - 12:24am [Dine in]

Coffee shop located on king edward and main is actually offered you best place for hang-out and stay-in.
First of all, I want to give them rate 2 due to self service, however they provide other services such as 24 hours and free internet connection. It's hard now finding a place to study and work overnight in Vancouver whereas no scumbag around. In brief, 4-star indicated all the facility they have as well.

The coffee is good. My favorite cup is medium green tea frapucinno... One of my friend tried their capucino and he said that was good. Between 2 to 6 am, they usually sold their bakery cheap (but that's still good).. So, it give you value as well.
The ambiance is what make me stayed there overnight. They got lotta artistic picture and piano on the edge where people can play around. :)

recommended...

Wondering what ppl think
Submitted Friday, August 18, 2006 - 9:14pm [Dine in]

Some of my asian friend told me that kintaro had the best ramen ever. And finally, i got chance to go there...

I never find ramen soup as greasy as the one on kintaro. besides the other item on the menu they have are (i'm not sure what's the name) slice of pork meat (lean or fat)... but damn both of them are fats!!

Place is so small and the waiter&waitress are too busy with themselves, and the smell of fat will stick to your shirt after awhile there. I dont think i would come back by myself...

Jap and Korean in the mix!!!
Submitted Thursday, August 17, 2006 - 11:44pm [Dine in]

Shabusen is my favorite place to enjoy japanese buffet in downtown.

Food:
Gave 4 for it, which is the same as my best sushi place because they got pretty broad selection from sashimi, sushi AND outstandingly, they got korean BBQ on the mix as well from the choice of beef, chicken, pork, lamb etc.. They got dessert as well to close everything.

Service:
The service is fairly satisfying, Eventhough sometimes it's hard to call the waiter and the food took a LITTLE bit long to come, but they got waiting seat outside, so that people can wait patiently. Actually, for buffet place the service it is not so bad compare than other place..

Ambiance:
For buffet place, probably 3 is the best rating I can give. The restaurant is quite big, so the crowd would not be matter

Overall:
They only got one rate for dinner time. Well, I recommend them to have late-night rate :) FYI, they got lunch menu rate as well, which is not bad.. I gave them 4 rate on overall because they got great selection of food from jap to korean~~ great for those who wanna enjoy those foods at once.

Ebei5701 Granville Street, #112, Vancouver
best sushi buffet so far
Submitted Thursday, August 17, 2006 - 11:27pm [Dine in]

Came there a lot. So far, it's the best buffet place within Vancouver - Burnaby - Coquitlam...

Food:
Great variety of sashimi choice's on dinner with relatively low price (25-ish including tips and tax).. beef sashimi, tuna fat, and salmon sashimi are my fav, and also don't forget to order a lot of prawn tempura..
For the late-night(ers), 15 dollar is worth it and have a great value of food. My favorite dish besides sushi is ika shioyaki and octupus w/garlic butter.. (i'm a squid sucker) :P for the dessert they got mango pudding.. me and my friends usually ordered 2 or 3 mango pudding per person :P

Service:
The waiter and waitress are usually all around and it's so easy to order additional item.. The food is usually come fast, too compare to other sushi buffet place. They would come every 10 to 15 minutes to fill up the water and clean the mess.

Ambiance:
As usual, buffet place would seems disordered and it's tight to sit there because the place is kind of small.

Overall:
For my best sushi place (so far), i'll give them 4 rating... Better get reservation for the large party because once you got there, you have to stand-up on long line-ups :)

Return? of course... frequently i guess
