Montgomery Cottage Lunch15539 Marine Drive, White Rock
Best Fish and Chips on the beach!
Submitted Monday, July 11, 2011 - 4:16pm [Dine in]

My family and I have been ordering from Montgomery's Cottage lunch for over 15 years now. We have always enjoyed our food! We have taken out hundreds of times as well as eaten in, and tho we have tried other fish and chip spots on the beach, we always enjoy The Cottage Lunch the best. Being born and raised in White Rock one takes pride in their local spots. Whenever I am asked "Where should I go for fish and chips when I visit White Rock beach?" I always suggest The Cottage lunch and people are never disapointed! When eating here you know the food will be - fresh, hot, good, not to greasy and served with a smile!
Try the deep fried pickles! Mmmmm
We enjoy taking out and going to sit at the beach. Inside is quite small (yet cozy) They also have a little patio area where you can sit, eat great food people watch.

Not Good
Submitted Sunday, August 16, 2009 - 7:57pm [Dine in]

After living in Ocean Park for over 25 years and enjoying OPP I was happy too hear that there was another one in Langley when I moved here. I have ordered take away many times, and while the food is good the PRICE IS ALWAYS DIFFERENT. We order the same thing each time and its always a different price when we go too pick it up. (sometimes over $10 difference!) When questioned the staff was RUDE and actually yelled at me!
I will not order from there ever again, and we used to order it about once every 2 weeks.
very disapointed.

POOR service
Submitted Sunday, August 16, 2009 - 1:24pm [Dine in]

Being a White Rock resident and enjoying good meals and a great view at the WAG I decided too take my parents for lunch here on Thurs Aug. It was 1:00, not busy, I counted 3 tables in the hole place. We waited by the door for a few min. THe atmosphere was great and kept us busy looking around. Finally we where seated by the window and a few moments later brought glasses of water and no menus. Table #4 was seated with menus. I asked the hostess for menus and she sharply said "HOLD ON". Then the loud banging started. We were told that they were working on the roof. STILL NO MENUS. When I looked the hostess and the waitress where chatting at the bar, laughing about something on their cell phone. I was a waitress for many years, and never treated customers like this. Finally we were brought menus and our drink order was taken. I was over al very disapointed in the service and the food was just OK, nothing special. The working on the roof was AWFUl, and made me wonder, why would you have workers there over lunch? When I went back too work (right around the corner) and talked too the staff about it, was told that they experienced the same poor service and OK food and would not reccomend it or go there again... SO WHATS THE HYPE??

Have been going to Beacher Street for years. Within the past year the managment staff and cooking staff has gone DOWNHILL. The food is not what it used too be and the staff are lazy and rude. Have now found a much newer, fresher, funner place too go on 34th in which you get much better quality and quantity as well as AC for those hot nights. Talking with anyone about Beacher street and they all agree - its a thing of the past.
