Trattoria Italian Kitchen1850 West 4th Ave, Vancouver
Good food, great price on food but so loud on weekends/holiday

The restaurant is great but the tables are too tight together and I can't hear my friend talking next to me. So we just eat and quickly left. The shared platter of pasta is a great deal and delicious but the meat platter is pretty ok, maybe because it is bit over-cooked and not warm enough.

I like their idea of sharing, the amazing pasta selection and the price! Just be careful because the cocktail here has really small portion.

I will definitely come here again for the pasta and maybe some other dishes and wine, but definitely not the expensive cocktails.

Ps: the Italian manager is very charming and nice! Service was amazing even though we waited 20min for a table (after making a reservation)

Real French food that won't rob your wallet but don't expect to be fancy

Go on their website and see what's their new "Table d'Hote"! They have new special three-course set every 2-3 weeks. I tried the Rouleau du Printemps (spring roll with some kind of wild pig meat) ,Lapin confit aux olives (slowly-cooked rabbit) and they were amazing! Every time I want to eat duck I will come here as well because they are probably the cheapest real French duck meal you could get in Vancouver! The portion is amazing because they serve a lot of vegetable on the side, including delicious banana squash.

The menu is in French only so please ask the waiter for suggestions or explanations instead of ordering the only ones in the menu you could understand!

It's really good but is totally overrated by people who don't know how to cook

Nachos, burgers, Asian stir-fries and noodle bowls... I may be biased but I am not a big fan of these types of restaurants. It's like a vegetarian White Spots with some interesting Hippie-ish Organic South American theme in it to attract people.

The only interesting dishes there are those Dragon Bowls. Still, it's basically a lot of vegetable with some Cantonese, Indian,Thai spices on it. I cook similar stuffs whenever I try to empty my fridge.

After criticizing it so much, I still think you can try because the ambiance is really nice and there's amazing local live music which I absolutely adore. Also, it is much healthy than other pub food and the price is really good.

If I am not mistaken, they open 24 hours!

You can probably find some of these dishes for cheaper price because there are so many competitions for Japanese Tapas in Vancouver now. I am also not a big fan of the location choice compare to Guu. However, why I still say that you have to come try it here instead of going to the Guu all the time?

Every single dish we order is excellently decorated and I found some of the plates taste a bit like fine Chinese food with a bit spicy favor in it, some of the plates taste like fine French cuisine and of course, the fish is always so fresh and tasteful. You will also fall in love with the incredible postmodern interior design and take a lot of photos here!
