Great sushi for the area, very well priced, decent selection. Looks like there are some great combo deals although I have yet to try any. The seaweed in the maki is nice and fresh both times I have been. Everything has been very good with the exception of the cali rolls, these did not quite live up to my standards, but they are on special right now. Yam rolls, avocado, miso soup and other things were above average and all prices are very reasonable.
I will be going back almost weekly.
It has been awhile since I have been to a restaurant in Vancouver where I felt like the people actually wanted to be working there and making the food they were making. Everything had a lot of love, character and flavor involved. I had the cheese perogies, which were home made and tasted quite good. I also had a brownie which was exploding with flavor. I can not wait till later in the year when the weather is more appropriate and I can test out a chowder.
I also loved the decor and ambiance of the place.....some may call it tacky but in this case it felt very homely and real. They people working their enjoyed what they did and it was as if you were coming into their home for a meal.
Can't wait to visit again!
I have eaten here a number of times. It is usually very busy, but I have never had to wait more than 5 mins for table so far. All of the food I have had so far is extremely delicious, especially the veganized cheese. I am not vegan, but I have tried it and it is something special. I prefer it to most real cheeses, as other places use cheap real cheese and this is better than that. My one issue with the restaurant is that when you buy nachos they provide you with extremely small amounts of salsa, sour cream or guac which is quite expensive. I really wish they would up these sizes so that you could enjoy a solid dip on your chips.
Large amounts of food that taste pretty decent! Half the menu is veggie friendly. Meals are under $5, making it a great place if you are on a tight budget. The place is usually pretty busy, however it never takes too long to get your food. There are some secret menu items posted on the side wall that don't appear on the main ordering board. Your meal also comes with free water/ green tea. I usually purchase a veggie fritter for while I wait as well, they are delicious.
I have ate here a couple of times. I use to live up the street and go on wednesdays for nachos and beer, or on saturdays for caesars. They make a good caesar at a great price!
As a mild date or when my parents are in town I like to go here. The food is pretty good and it has a good atmosphere. Great for lunch specials! There is always a liquor special and everything I have had on the menu has been delicious so far. I look forward to my next visit.
I had very big delicious donair here. Although it was not made the way I like it, and had more of a greek take on it it was extremely large and delicous. The owner chatted to me about sailing for most of my visit and was quite nice. For what the place is it was a great spot! Good value, good food and a nice owner.
I was mostly surprised by the overall size of my donair. It was great!
I frequent here when I am in the area. The owner is always working and extremely friendly once you know him.
So far this is the best chicken shwarma I have had in the city. The garlic sauce that they put on the shwarma platter is out of this world. I always ask for it on my shwarma wrap, although you will be tasting it for a long time afterwards. It is very garlicy, and very good! Service is usually good, value is and food quality are great. Ambiance is.......well its a little dine out place on Granville street cattering to the bar crowd....so not high.
Best Shwarma I have had in Vancouver!!
