We made a reservation for a group of 13 for a saturday.
Upon arriving, we were greeted and seated quickly.
Glass of water arrived quickly.
Ordered drinks came soon after.
We all ordered off the anniversary menu, $18 for a 4 course dinner.
Most of us ordered the Greek Salad, while a few ordered the Organic Salad.
My dad likes the berry dressing on the Organic salad, the greek salad was not bad either.
Almost everyone had the appetizer of Kalamari.
For the main, we each ordered either the Shrimp, Chicken or Pork souvlaki.
These were slow to come out, but the restaurant was packed and they were doing there best.
Once the mains arrived, they were excellent. The chicken was tender, the garlic shrimp was spectacular and the Pork not bad. The mains came with Lemon potatoes and rice. There was more than enough food for one person, we actually took some home.
There was one mistake, I ordered the Chicken, but they gave me shrimp. I mentioned this to the waitress and without hesitation she said, keep your meal, as everyone already had theirs, and she brought out the missing chicken souvlaki - did not even take back the shrimp.
Now that is GREAT GREAT customer service !!
Dinner ended with dessert, it was a amazing, Hot, flakey filo pastry and filled with custard. It was outstanding.
Overall bill came to approx $245.00, we added a generous tip on top of that.
Overall, food was excellent, service was great and W/C were clean.
We will definitely be back to try this place again !! Highly recommended.
Came here for lunch last Wednesday.
Seated quickly, got the hot tea immediately.
Ordered Beef Brisket Chowmein and Fish/Corn sauce on rice. Both portions were served quickly and piping hot. The portions were quiet substantial for the price. Both meals came with a complimentary hot drink.
My kids enjoyed the food, as did my wife.
W/C was clean and large (not like some other Chinese restaurants I have been to, where the W/C are tiny).
Ambiance - cleaner than most HK style restaurant I have been to.
Wait staff was friendly and helpful.
Another bonus is that they accepted Visa.
Also Free parking is available.
They also have 3 private rooms that can fit 8-10 people and one large room.
Will definitely come back.
Went here on a Wednesday night for dinner .. its Family night (8 of us).
Got seated quickly, but given the regular menus. Had to ask the waitress for the family night menus.
She came back 15-20 minutes later with the menus and said that she does not usually work on Wednesday, so did not know about the special menus.
She gave us the menus, we waited another 20 minutes for her to come back to take our orders.
The place was staffed with 2 waitress, but was almost empty, I think I saw another 2 couples.
We were planning to get up and leave, having waited for so long ... arriving at 7 and ordering at 8pm.
We finally ordered, which was quick.
Food was overly salty, but the waitress was there to ask how things were.
Overall, not worth what we paid and also the automatic tip of 15% was surprising given that we waited and waited for our menus and then our food.
This will remind me never to come back to this location, as we have had bad service before also.
Three strikes now and we will not return again.
Was doing some business at the bank the other day around lunch time.
Walking towards No Frills, we past by a Red Awning - Happy Donair.
The three of us went in and ordered the Chicken Donair with a Pop each.
Inside the establishment was very very clean, the W/C was also clean.
The manager/Owner pair were very nice and service was great
When the donairs were ready, they served it to our table.
Wow, it was huge, lots of fresh chicken, vegetables and sauce.
I could not finish it there, so I brought home, my kids enjoyed the rest of my donair.
Overall, it fills you and it tastes really good and even though this is a small business, food was spectacular.
I will definitely return for another choice.
Came in at 7pm.
Dining room was packed.
Our table was ready and the waiters brought the complimentary tea quick.
We had out of town guests, so we need a quick dinner, as they were leaving the next day.
Ordered the set dinner for 6 - all seafood items.
Food came out hot and quick. Food was tasty, but portions were a bit small. Also came with the complimentary red bean dessert.
W/C was cleaner than most Chinese restaurants ... a positive here.
Will come back and try the a la cart menu next time, heard that the portions are larger.
Decided to go here for a family outing.
Heard that the Prime Rib was good.
Setting was in the clubhouse of a local golf course, beautiful views of the greens, lots of parking and ambiance was great.
We made a reservation for 16, when we arrived our table was set and ready.
This place was hopping, as there was a golf tournament going on also. That did not lessen the service, service was attentive and refills of drinks were on time.
W/C was very clean.
Ordering, 14 of us tried the Prime Rib done to 8 oz and 6 oz portions. It came with daily vegetables and scalloped potatoes. Also server was bread. Drinks, non-alcoholic were reasonably priced and came with free refills.
The Prime Rib was done to perfection. We ordered it medium rare and it came out as expected. Well done to the chefs at The Grille @ Country Meadows.
Gratuities was included, at 15%, service was well worth this amount.
We will definitely go back again and again.
When there yesterday for lunch ... 8 kids 8 adults.
Seated quickly as the place was not that busy. The restaurant was clean and tidy, tables were set nicely.
Most of the adults ordered the Roasted Veal andthe kids the Schnitzels. The meal came with bread, soup and greek like salad. Soup was good, bread added a good filler and the salad was good. The portion of the Veal was good, but the gravy was way too salty .. needed lots of water. My SIL has been there before and she noted the saltiness also, her pervious visits, the gravy was not as salty.
Washrooms were clean and the tables settings were nice.
Over all, a very good first experience (other than the Salty gravy).
Would recommend other enjoy it also, I would definitely come again (as long as the gravy was not that salty).
Went to Lin's with some friends and my family.
Service was prompt, filled our teapots regularly and asked us how everything was.
Ordered the SS Fish, Shanghai Noodles, House fried Rice, Hot & Sour Soup and the Siu Loong Bao. Everything was hot and tasty. sufficient for the 7 of us. The bill came out to 66 buck before tips ... not bad.
Good friends, Good conversation and followed it up with Outstanding food.
As you can see by my ratings, we have enjoyed breakfast here on many many occasions. Helen and Margaret have been kind, friendly and very good people.
i heard today, that tomorrow, August 31st 2010 will be their last day. closing because it is time for the cook to retire. We will miss you and your great food!! Take Care.
Went there with the family a couple of days ago.
We were seated quickly.
Deciding what to order, we choice the Dinner for 6 for $98.
Thinking this would be a quick and good dinner, we thought otherwise.
The menu items were as follows:
1- Minced Chicken in Creamy Corn Soup
2- Spring Rolls
3- Beef Tenderloin in Gourmet Sauce
4- Breaded Almond Chicken
5- Prawns with Vegetables
6- Dry Garlic Spareribs
7- Bean Curd & Assorted Meat Hot Pot
8- Yeung Chow Fried Rice
I would say only items 2 and 7 were passable.
Most of the items were tasteless and was definitely not enough to feed 6 adults.
I definitely did not like items 4, 6 and 8 ... too oily, no taste and all batter. Not much meat at all.
I know this meal was meant for non-asians, but wanting to try it (we are chinese), we were not happy.
value was really poor ... definitely not worth $98 dollars.
W/C was small, but clean
Restaurant ambience was okay, there were table clothes, non-chipped plates and tea was refilled quickley and 2 large LCD TVs.
As I mentioned in the title ... Good Choice Retaurant will not be my choice again.
Sorry, I can find better, tasteful food for less and is more substantial.
Went here with the wife last night for DOV 2010.
Arrived at 6:30pm with a reservation. We were seated at a 2 person table quickly by the staff by the front windows - what an amazing view of the False Creek Waterfront. Positve experience #1.
Waitress quickly attended to us, offering water and a bit of time to look over the menu. She also mentioned the DOV menu and answered all wine and food related questions. Positve experience #2
The complimentary bread arrived shortly after.
My wife ordered the Seafood antipasto and and I the Smoked fish - both were amazingly good and substantial. Positve experience #3
For the main course, I ordererd the Beef Tenderloin AAA Canadian beef, red wine and peppercorn jus roasted vegetables, pomme frites ( it was cooked to perfections ) and my wife ordered the Prawns Provençal wild pacific prawns, garlic, parsley, brandy, butter sauce seven grain rice, zucchini spaghetti and it was delicious. We had the recommended wines, as per the DOV 2010 Menu. Positve experience #4
For Dessert, we were offered anything from the regular dessert menu - that is a nice touch, as it gives the clients more choice. - I had the Double Kaluha chocolate Cake - very rich and my wife had the Dessert special - pinapple with upside down cake and vanilla ice cream on top ... perfect dessert to top of the perfect dinner !! Positve experience #5
Ambience of the restaurant was very nice, the restaurant was bustling and wait staff was attentive. The w/c was clean, but very small ... oh well, more space for the customers to enjoy the food !!
Good Company, Good place, good food, what else could one ask for. Positve experience #6
Will definitely be back .. even if it is not DOV.
Went there with the family on friday for the 2.99 Fish & Chips special.
Ambience - okat ... you normal cafeteria style setting
Service - you get it yourself, but the cashier was really helpful, even offering to take the tray to your table. The girl behind the food counter seemed stressed ... but can't complain, she is doing her job.
Value - is amazing, can feed the whole family for under 20 bucks. We have 4 Fish & Chips special and 2 kids meals (comes with milk)
Food - the F & Cs were good and hot. The pieces were not small, but average size and were battered not breaded. The Kids menu, for 1.99, you get choice of meatballs or Mac&Cheese with side fries.
They have a different special each weekday .. from quiche to Stuff salmon to organic pasta ... I think I would definitely try this place again.
Of course, I come for the $1.00 breakfast (includes coffee) on occassion also ... what a deal.
I have been here more than a few times now.
I love Salmon sashimi and each time I came I really enjoyed it.
came here in mid december, they no longer give Salmon or Tuna sashimi, just those thinly sliced salmon pieces on rice .... could eat 50 of those ( of course without the rice) and it would be equivalent to 5 piece of sashimi before.
Value is still good for lunch, but it is no longer Outstanding.
W/C still clean, some parts inside were broken/worn, but still okay.
Ambiance is outstanding, clean, lots of room.
Service is good also.
Won't be coming here as much now .... no sashimi.
BTW, they still validate parking.
Went there with the wife and kids last weeks. The place was not too busy when we arrived at 6:30pm.
Ordered 4 items and rice - Chicken & Broccoi, Beef Hot Pot, Cod and Tofu Hot Pot and Shrimp with Eggs. Other chinese places I have gone to give a free house soup and dessert afterwards, this place did not.
Overall the meal was okay, but the Beef hot pot andthe Cod and Tofu hot pots had too much MSG in them (had to drink lots of water when I arrived home). Also the beef hot pot was too salty.
The pieces of Cod were small and the beef chuck were small also. I have been to other places that provide better "meat" pieces.
My wife said the Broccoli was to hard.
But my kids did enjoy the Shrimp & Eggs.
W/C was clean
Ambiance was nothing to write home about.
Would I come back, probably not ... I would go back to my tried and true places.
Location : Joyce & Boundary
Came here for breakfast this morning with the family.
We were the first ones in the restaurant. The waitress greeted us warmly and was very friendly - gave some colouring books to the kids and we got a current newspaper.
Coffee came quick and was hot. The kids got water in a kids friendly cup - straws were built in.
We ordered the Habs breakfast and the basic Sausage and eggs. My wife enjoyed the French Toast that came with the Habs breakfast. We had enough to share with the kids as the breakfast meals are pretty substantial.
Coffee was refilled quickly and waitress was very attentive to us and the kids. They even got stickers from her, which they very very happy to get. By the time we left, the restaurant had about 12 customers in there enjoying breakfast.
W/C were clean and the overall look of the place was good.
I would like to go back on weekdays between 7am & 9:30 to try the Sausage & eggs and toast breakfast for 3.95.
We paid by CC and gave her the Entertainment coupon, she was more than happy to accept it and with her kindness towards us and the kids ... we gave her a good tip.
Went here with my family yesterday for lunch. We had made reservations. We arrived with the table already setup for us.
I noticed that all table settings were of the disposable kind - Chopstick, wasabi saucers and even the Bento Box containers. I would have like to see the "Eat in" settings to be more the permanent type. The restaurant is more the "Take out type" and accepted payment is Cash Only.
We all ordered a variety of choices, from Bento Boxes to California Rolls, to Noodles in soup. I would say the Bento Boxes are smaller than the other locations, such as Risty's and Komo Sushi. THe the quality is about the same and the price is the same.
With all the different locations here on Granville Street, this places fits right in as one of those places I would go back to for some inexpensive sushi/noodles.
8 of us went there for dinner last night. Before walking in, I thought this was another one of those Vietnamese Noodle houses.
Restaurant looked pretty clean, modern and the w/c were also clean.
We sat down at a table for 8 and ordered 6 diiner items are 3 appetizers. Tea was included.
The Fried tofu and the 2 orders of gyoza came out hot and tasty. My little one ate 4 gyozas and wanted more.
We also ordered the Shrimp & egg on rice, Hot & Sour noodle soup, chicken with noodles, udo chicken noodles and the map pao tofu on rice. Food came out hot and pretty substantial.
The total bill came to 63 bucks b4 tips. They only take cash here.
When we left, the restaurant was still packed.
The waitress was couteous and prompt, refilling tea and cleaning up used dishes on the table.
Weird name, but definitely good inexpensive Taiwannese style food
I have visited this place approximately 5 times in the last year.
Each time was to pick up multiple party trays, I have tried the SAMURAI , SAKURA and the MAIKO trays.
On all occassions, I have phoned in earlier to ge the discount offer. It is 10% Discount when order until 1 Day before pickup.
5% Discount when order until 2 hours before pickup..
The roles are pretty good and a fair size. Never gotten ill eating these. The place it self looks pretty clean and the service is friendly.
Overall, not a bad place to come for party trays.
All ratings still the same except for Value.
They no longer include coffee with their $2.99 breakfast.
They now charge $2.00 for coffee / tea that cames included a week ago.
I can get 2 eggs, toast, hashbrowns and SAUSAGEs at other places for $3.95 .. Sapodilla is one of them and Risty's on Granville the same.
They also charge $2.00 extra for sausages here.
I guess the deal was too good to be true.
Ikea gives you coffee, 2 sausages, scambled eggs and hashbrowns for only a buck !!!!
Went to this place for Lunch this afternoon.
I remember that someone mentioned that the L.A. Grill and Bistro had good food at reasonable prices.
We (4 adults and 4 kids) decided to give this place a try.
We were greeted immediately on entering and seated promptly.
The waitress was very nice and attentive the whole time we were there. She took the order for drinks first and then came back to a couple of times to see if we were ready to order.
We started off with the Nachos, they were served piping hot and crispy, with lots and lots of cheese on them. The serving of sour creme and Salsa was plentiful.
I ordered the LA burger, it was great - served on a toasted kaiser with roasted potatoes which were excellent. Also a side salad came with it. I like that they serve the burger with a healthy side, instead of oily french fries that usually comes with a burger. Other adults ordered the Salmon Burger, Cajun Burger and the Chicken Salsa - their experiences were great also. The kids had the Cheese Garlic Bread and the Chicken Strip and the Prawn Fettuccini Alfredo, all were done to perfection.
The portions were amazing, none of us felt hungry afterwards
We finished it off with the Mud Pie, Chocolate Cheese Cake and another chocolate dessert. Servings were large and plentiful.
The w/c were big and clean and the restaurant was clean and located in a mall location, so had lots of parking.
I wil definitely recommend this to my friends because of the ambience, value and staff attentiveness.
Will try for dinner next time, they have dinner specials for $7.95 - NY Steak on Monday and Grilled Salmon on Thursdays ... they have other specials also.
