Great Kababs and Curries. So far I've had the Nihari (beef Stew), chicken curry, tandoori chicken, Sheesh kabob. All the dishes come with either rice or naan, sauce and some salad.
The food is great, cooked by a few women it the kitchen. Hardly any seating, the bathroom is down right nasty. No service really. You have to get your own utensils and plates - foam that are sitting on a high table.
Its definitely worth getting take out from here - fresh delicious naan.
The decor is a bit tacky, but the service is good and the food is good. I assume because the mom's or wives are cooking in the back. Its a bit more than what I would pay - but its good and I'll certainly come back.
Having grown up eating Indian food, with parents being chefs and having lived in India - this place is not very authentic. That said, the food is good - not outstanding or anything out of the ordinary. We had 1/2 tandori chicken and bhuna ghost - both good. Nan lacked the 'it' - it was a little dry and heavy.
For what, and how much they serve, I found the menu to be quite pricey - as is the case with all place in Vancouver.
The service was nothing to comment on, the owners themselves should be ashamed. Our sever, was not Indian and didn't seem knowledgeable about the food, spicyness - and said she doesn't eat Indian food. She didn't refill our water, ask us if we wanted more nan, or roti and ignore us the entire night - chitchatting with other servers at the front of the restaurant.
If you want to eat here - get take away. I can't deal with service like this.
We came about 1:30-1:45 and choose the menu. Most of the food was cold or old, the bathrooms are disgusting. There is some sort of weird construction going on in the back, exposing dirty ceiling. The staff is cordial at best. Don't go there. A better place is across the street.
we had a great server, and good breakfast. I got 2 eggs sunny side, ham, toast and hong kong style hot tea for $4.25. They also had pastries for very reasonable prices, between .40c and $1. Service is fast and efficient.
Bathroom a little dirty, But I'll definitely come again.
Best buffet in Punjabi Markey (Little India) on Main Street. Small place, with great owners, and the food is good - home style. Would recommend over Himalya and All India Sweets - don't be put off by the empty dining room, it just opened.
