Last week my friend and I went down to the states, and upon returning to Canada, we stopped by the Applebee's in Burlington, Washington.
When I last went to Applebee's in Burlington they had a special, where you can get two entrees and an appetizer for $20...it was great food, so with the 1,000 of different restaurant chains that they have in the United States we had decided to come here.
Upon entering, we were greated by the hostess...She sat us immediatly to a table, but I had asked if we could have a booth. She said "absoultely, but it will take a few minutes just so we can clean it up" no problem. My friend and I were then sitting down and looking at the menu. I had decided on splurging and ordered the 2 entree meals and appetizer for my self two 7oz steaks with fries and bonless chicken wings (I ate all but a bite, but goodness, I ate too much) and my friend had the cowboy burger and later dessert.
Our waitress came and took our order (she was a little bit rude) I don't even remember what I asked and what she said....all I remember is asking my friend "wasn't she a little rude" I ordered a coke to drink which came immediatly.
afterwards our food had come...in the middle of eating our meals, I had wanted a refill on my drink.....the waitress siad she would get it, but never came....after awhile I flagged down ither another waitress or a hostess.....she never came back.....waited awhile until finally another waitress brought my drink....it seemed like I had 2 different waitresses that night (I have eaten at many restaurants in Washington State and don't recall anything like that) anyhow, later my friend ordered an ice cream cup and she said it was good.
Anyhow, waitress #1 noticed that I didn't eat my vegetables....and she said for future referance, I could request more fries....so that was good.....and after a little while she brough our bill.
All and all, it was a great visit with great food....just had to wait too long for a refill......I'll be back
I patron Red Robin quite frequently as they have good food and good service.
I went yesterday with a friend of mine yesterday for my birthday. I had a double burger with fries, and I can't remember what she had...I guess I wasn't really paying attention to what she had, but she said it was good, and of course as usual, my double burger and fries were fantastic.
Anyhow....I had a free birthday coupon because I joined thier E-Birthday club. so I was given a free burger entree....too bad though they still charged me for the extra patty, but eh.
Anyhow, as Red Robin's is famous for....they came to our table with a FANTASIC ice cream dessert and they heard that I had a birthday (this was before I gave them my coupon...guess my friend told them) I used to think it was ultra lame that sang the birthday song at thier establishment, but I guess now that it finally happened to me, I realize and felt, that a simple gesture like that really can make a birthday even more special.
Anyhow, they had about 4-5 waiters / waitresses came to our table with the dessert, and told me that they heard it was my birthday and asked if I would like to stand up on the seat. At first I was thinking "Oh no, they're going to sing that stupid song" , but agreed to get up. However, once I got up and they started singing I was thinking "wow, this is great.....it does make me feel special"
Thank you Red Robin for a terrific free birthday meal (well except for the charge of the extra patty).....singing that birthday song for me which made me feel great, and for the final touch the delicious ice cream dessert
Thank you so much. It was a birthday that I will never forget
Came here late last night with a friend of mine......All I can say is that is definatly is not one of the best sushi places to go to.....it is too pricy (I mean $4.25 for a spinach gomae) The sushi wasn't really anything to write home about. The service sucked too (probably because we were the only caucasians in there) the couple next to us came after we did and thier food came like just a couple minutes after ours (and they had alot more food than we did) It just didn't cut it
We won't be back
Came here with a friend and we had the "All You Can Eat Fish and Chips" (unlimited pop also included) plus we both also had the 4 piece prawn special for $1.99
Per order they give you generous portions of fish (6 pieces I believe) and they are decent sized, sometimes though you can get some pieces that are too battered (though most of the pieces you get are great) the prawns were terrific (and cheap, but it's only a promotion for the rest of the month)
Our waitress was great...she was helpful with us and attended our needs
Presentation of our food could had been a little better, but for $11.99 all you can eat, it doesn't really matter
Don't come here though expecting White Spot Fish and Chips, but honestly, for "All You Can Eat" for $11.99 it's a real steal, and a much better deal than White Spot
It has been quite a few years since I have eaten at a Cactus Club. The only reason I decided to go was cause my friend had just gotten her drivers licence and we went to celebrate 2 weeks ago.
The burger and fries that I ordered definatly were fresh and tasted that it had fresh ingridients in the burger (unlike those frozen patties you would get at a Denny's or IHOP)
The food was yummy, but it was a little expensive, but I guess with better quality foods, I should be prepared to pay a little more
I don't mind coming back again, it was good food and good times, just a little too pricy
It was a few months ago that I came here. I had come with my parents, as well as my sister-in laws father.
The service was what one would expect.
For food. It was good. I had ordered a chicken burger with fries and lemonade. My mother had the BBQ ribs and chicken. Can't remember what my sister - in laws father nor what my father had. But I do remember that my sister - in laws father and I shared an appetizer of Cripsy dry ribs as well (which was really good)
My food was delicious...chicken is a little dry, but itherwise pretty tasty and the fries are good too. I had tried some of my mothers BBQ ribs which were fantastic (and wished that I ended up ordering that...though my burger was good)
We all agreed that it was terrific and hopefully will be back again
Went out today for a friends birthday. We had gone bowling, and then we were supposed to go to Boston Pizza, but my friend neglected to make reservations, so they told us it would be an hour wait and alot of people didn't want to wait, so since none of the other people drive (there were about 12-15 people I think) we kind of were stuck and had to go to Burger King for a birthday party (Yes, I was pretty dissapointed at first)
I had preceeded to order, and I ordered alot of food. a Quad stacker, fries, coke and two 6 piece of chicken nuggets. I had never tried thier stacker sauce before and asked the cashier if I could have a little bit of a sample.....he told me that they were not allowed to give tiny samples of bloody sauces (of course I argueed with him and demanded to talk to a manger) I mean WTF? I mean, who doesn't give a tiny sample of bloody sauce to sample? anyhow, I talked to the manager and he offered me some (don't know if it was because I made a stink about it) but anyhow, I liked it.
We then all sat down, ate, laughed, enjoyed ourselves and left.
I guess it wasn't the ideal place, but none the less had fun even for our ages (25-35) I had written a review about another restaurant we went to 2 years ago for the same guys birthday (Swiss Chalet) which was horrible, and I mentioned that we would have had a better time dinning at Wendy's....Guess I wasn't sarcastic when I said that after all, as we all had a better time here that we did at Swiss Chalet 2 years ago.
It is very rare that I leave a Red Robins restaurant dissapointed (but it does happen on a rare ocassion)
I have been patroning at Red Robins for a few years now and I don't really need to talk much about the food, I am really impressed with thier good food (Ok, it's not gourmet or anything, but it is really good and well worth it for the clientel they serve)
Anyhow, on one of my recent visits, I had come for a friends birthday party, and I ordered my usual double burger and fries. Didn't take too long for our food to arrive. When the waitress was bringing my food she accidently tripped a little and my burger had fallen, but she caught it. She then told me she would get me another burger. I told her not to be ridicoulous and that I had no problem and would eat it. She then told me that while catching it she poked her finger a little bit in the bun (again I told her not to worry and it was only a burger bun and I am sure it's fine) She then told me that my burger was on the house (Free)
I would assume that most restaurants would take advantage of the situation and just say "ok, thanks" Red Robin however didn't charge me for thier burger (even though it was a perfectly good burger. I admire thioer excellent customer service.
I've also tried thier fish items, wings and cheese sticks which all taste good.....I wish maybe the cheese sticks could be bigger, but I guess now with the price of cheese it is almost worth the same as gold (LOL)
Anyhow.....Great Job Red Robin.....Will be patroning alot
I have yet to be dissapointed with this location. I always leave happy regardless, and the service that I recieved was great....read on...praise and recognition is overdue, but really wanted to show my gratitute for the service I recieved (better late then never I guess)
I came by with 2 friends. I had a double hamburger and fettucini. My other friend had the Portobella chicken, and I think my other friend had a hamburger. The food here has always tasted good (The fries are over-cooked on occasion but when I told the waiter or waitress , they immediatly bring me another order) It it was really busy and out waiter did mention to us in advanced that it would be a half hour wait for our food since it was busy and they were short one cook.
Thier customer service is phenominal. I had brought in my digital camara, and left it on the table and I guess that being busy with friends I forgot all about it. The next day I realize that my camara is missing and called Milestone's and they said that they did have it (what a relief!) however, when I got there my camara was not there and I was just expecting the managment to say "Sorry" but instead she said to me "Here is my business card, what I want you to do, is go out and buy another camara and we will pay for it" I was just in awe....I never expected service that great.....when I got home my friend ended up calling to tell me that she had put my camara in her purse when I went to use the washroom, so then I called back to tell them Thank you for the offer, but my camara has now been found.....But because of this kind gesture on thier part, I have been having the majority of my parties at Milestones just to say Thank you.
I have come here several times with friends for drinks. Tonight I had decided to come with a friend for 19 cents (yes, 19 cents wing Mondays....all you have to do, is buy a beverage)
For beverage my friend had a beer, and I had a Shirley Temple and we ordered wings.....My friend had onion rings as well, and I had french fries
Anyhow, for the food (the wings) they were ok (breaded though) so not as good as you would get at Earl's or Cactus Club (but for 19 cents per wing why complain.....they weren't bad) on Mondays when they sell them for 19 cents you have to buy your sauces seperatly (75 cents each) but really, the wings were ok, not great but ok, but well worth the price for sure on a Monday (french fries were good too, and friend liked onion rings)
I'll come back and try another entree (looks cheap on the menu) and get fewer wings as an appetizer (but only on a Monday)
Service was great....I got a free refill on my Shirley Temple, and when I told the waitress that I didn't like the sauce that I ordered, she told me she would let me choose another flavour for free.....Thank you
We'll Return
It was my first visit to this establishment tonight. I had come with a friend. I had ordered a chicken burger with fries, and she ordered a mushroom cap for appetizer and pizza for dinner. for beverage I had a shirley temple and had a dark coloured beer.
The waitress was very attentive, and told us that it would take longer to cook the pizza, so gave us the option of asking me if she wanted me to put my order in later, and I told her that would be great if she put my order in later.
My friends mushroom caps arrive...she reported to me thta they tasted good.
Then our food comes. I had asked the waitress if the size of a chicken burger was 7 oz like the burger and she told me it was the same size. but when I got my chicken burger, it was not that big...I told her that I was expecting a bigger sized chicken breast and I think a burger is bigger than this (it had to be) she apologized, and offered to get me something else (twice....I.E. are you sure you you're ok and don't want something else instead?) so I was happy about that. Taste wise it was a good chicken burger but the bun was too big for the size of my meat....the fries were good. But I guess I shouldn't be surprised that my chicken breat was small, since that is the size I have gotten at Milestones, White Spot and Red Robin
The pizza tasted good (really cheesy actually) my friend gave me two slices we both agreed that it was good pizza.
It's a little pricy, but eh
Really, it was only average, but we will return
I have been to several Red Robin locations, and as usually they will show some blood violent sport. I had asked the waitress at the North Vancouver Location if she could change the channel, and she cheerfully did and then told me that they do put it at those channels, but because this is a family restaurant, that even if one patron complains about the blood violent sports, that they will change the channel. Therefore I was able to enjoy my meal without having to see blood.
Unfortunatly for this location the waitress wouldn't change the channel telling me that this is what the customers want to watch (though I have been told at both the Metrotown location and the North Vancouver location that since it is a family restaurant that they have to change the channel, even if it is only one patron to complain)
I had come with one of my cousins, and 2 friends and thier 1 year old son, so didn't want to make a scene and tell the people I was with to just leave and go elsewhere
It's too bad, because I really liked this location, but won't be coming back. I'll just go out of my way and bus or drive to the other 2 locations that don't make me watch violent sports while trying to eat.
It should occur to them that there are 5 year old kids in the restaurant too.
Anyhow, the food is fantastic and I really do like it, but if you are planning on coming as a family or with children be prepared to watch kick boxing (unless of course the Canucks are playing)
Came here on Saturday night with a friend of mine before going to the movie theatre. We ordered chicken wings for appetizer, and for dinner I had ordered fettucini alfredo, and she ordered a quesadilla plate. We were seated almost immediatly (given that we accepted the high tables, and why not? it was great seating) the wings came, and they were pretty good (but they should be for $1 per wing...definatly small for the price) then our main course came....we both liked our food (it was delicious) but I found my portion of fettucini to be small for $12.50 (just had noodles and alfredo sauce) my friend reported that her quesadilla was good.
Our waitress was friendly and all, she asked us how we liked our food and I was honest when I said that the food tasted great, but portion was too small (she didn't really have much to say)
It was a fun night and experience. I am sure I will come back again at some point, but not too soon
A friend of mine who I haven't seen in almost a year and a hlaf came into town, and we were trying to decide where to go and eat. For some odd reason for many years, we had made Denny's our *Special* place (go figure) but after having had worked at Denny's, and thinking it would be nice to try something different, we drove around and decided to come here since she has never been, and I have only been once.
I had the dry ribs and a double cheeseburger, and she had a guacamole burger. To be honest, we did enjoy the food. I believe the burgers were grilled. I can't say that I didn't like it, or left dissapointed, but the truth is, that more seniors probably would enjoy this place rather than people in thier very early 30's.
The service was just ok....nothing to brag about, but I do like how they give you re-fillable fries and ever thier JUICE is re-fillable
I would be happy to come back, but not going to rush it
Yesterday, a friend and I came here after going to Point Roberts. It was my second time coming here. When we came in we were seated immediatly. Our server was polite and friendly. I ordered Fettucini alfredo with chicken and a shirly temple, and my friend ordered the roast lamb dinner and a pepsi. It took awhile for our food to come out, and I wish the waiter would had come by just a little more often, but everything was great itherwise. The fettucini tasted amazing, and my friend told me that the roast lamb was delicious (he said that another restaurant we went to in Vancouver was a little bit better, but only marginally) We both left very happy and definatly will be returning
Came here a couple of weeks ago with my friends. I had a double burger and fires, another friend had a single burger and the other one stuck with wine.
The food was terrific.....had really good flavour and enjoyed every bite, I think the value is actually between a 3-4, the service was ok, as one would expect. We all left happy. We will return
Took a friend of mine here for her birthday. We had a great time, the service was great. I had a double cheeseburger with fries, she had a chicken salad, and we both shared a double order of wings. I must say that the double burger was HUGE, but it didn't taste good like it does at most other restuarants....the chipotle mayo there was a joke and a half. We did enjoy the wings very much. Last time I went to a Boston Pizza I had thier tasteless fettucini alfredo, but at least the burger had flavour (even though it wasn't good)
So I guess I will stick to thier appetizers.
I had graduated on Friday, and I came here with 2 of my friends after the ceremony and bowling. I originally wanted to go to Denny's in Richmond as they are 24/7 but found out this place is opened until 2:00 in the morning on Fridays, so we came here.
Our waitress was very friendly, and made me feel special that it was graduation day for me (don't know how she managed to, but she did) I had a hambuger and fries which were delicious. can't remember what my friend had for her entree, but we shared some buffalo wings (which were amazingly good) and the other friend just had beer.
Seeing how it was graduation day, I had a Bellini as well, which was ok, but I would rather have a bellini from Milestone's any day
The ambiance was a little dark for me......I would rather have gone somewhere where there was better lighting (but eh?)
I think however, it is a little too expensive compared to restaurants like Milestones and Earls. I mean my burger cost $14......Yes, I know it's not Denny's, but even Milestone's is like $10 or $11 for a plain burger. I guess they have some reason for making it pricer (location? don't know)
I guess I don't mind coming here once every so often, but I can get the same thing at Milestones for cheaper.
Came here with a friend today.....she had the crab eggs benny (???) and I had a burger and fries and we shared a short stack pancakes.....The food was amazingly delicious.....pancakes were *HUGE* and flavourful, the hanburger was a little bit small, but it tasted great.... she told me that her food was good too..... I want to come back soon...Just wish it wasn't filled with noisy patrons (you would think you were at a rock concert or something)
Wasn't too impressed with service. It definatly could had been better.
I patron here on and off. Thier food is pretty good for what it is (but not a favourite) The staff here are great though. They always greet me by name. It's pretty much what you would expect at a Denny's restaurant really.
I don't mind coming here in the day, but it is a terrific option at night when the majority of the reastaurants are closed
