Had some friends come for dinner last night.
We decided to order 3 large Pizzas from here. They told us it would take 45 minutes.
We were waiting and waiting, After an hour or so, we had decideed to call and see what was taking so long. The guy on the phone told me the guy would come in 5 minutes. About 15 minutes later we called, and again he said he would be there in 5 minutes.
The third time I called, I wanted to make sure that I had given him the right address and that I didn't by mistake send him elsewhere. Again he will be here in 5 minutes and he wouldn't listen to me or let me give the address.
My friends were growing hungry, and one even had to leave since he had to be at work in the morning.
We were planning at this point to ither call the pizza place and just cancel everything, or even just simply going out to a restaurant and writing a note on the door saying "Toke way to long and decided not to wait anymore" Lucky for them 3-4 minutes later Finally after more than 75 minutes, but no more than 90 minutes after we order our pizza arrives (luke warm)
I asked teh delivery guy if I could have a discount for waiting so long and he said "No, sorry" I guess the only savings I had was not tipping the guy.
So we were stuck with luke warm pizzas, and one of our guests had already left.
These new owners have no clue. I miss the old ones. We will NOT be doing delivery here again.
However, fair is fair. When I dine in, I enjoy the pizza.
I have been to several Red Robin locations, and as usually they will show some blood violent sport. I had asked the waitress at the North Vancouver Location if she could change the channel, and she cheerfully did and then told me that they do put it at those channels, but because this is a family restaurant, that even if one patron complains about the blood violent sports, that they will change the channel. Therefore I was able to enjoy my meal without having to see blood.
Unfortunatly for this location the waitress wouldn't change the channel telling me that this is what the customers want to watch (though I have been told at both the Metrotown location and the North Vancouver location that since it is a family restaurant that they have to change the channel, even if it is only one patron to complain)
I had come with one of my cousins, and 2 friends and thier 1 year old son, so didn't want to make a scene and tell the other 3 people lets just leave.
It's too bad, because I really liked this location, but won't be coming back. I'll just go out of my way and bus or drive to the other 2 locations that don't make me watch violent sports while trying to eat.
It should occur to them that there are 5 year old kids in the restaurant too.
Have patroned this place on and off for a few years now.
I must say that the food can be a hit or a miss.
The service is great though. The ladies behind the counter always make me feel welcomed and even if I just want to stay for a few hours and sit with my friends for a few hours, they have no problem with that and are always happy to let me stay.
The food? Well, most of it is good for what it is. I enjoy all of thier doughnuts, thier fried chicken is terrific, I have also had thier salmon burger which I found fantastic, however, their potatoed items (hashbrowns etc....) are not good.
All in all, I usually leave satisfied, thier food is good, but not thier potatoed items.
Have been to this location several times. The food is always consistantly good. I find the service in the later hours (10 at night and after to be alot better and friendlier) Haven't tried thier late night menu, but they have some late night specials.
All in all, it's a very good restaurant with good greasy food. Always clean too.
I have been to this location a total of 3 times. Twice in 2006, and once last year.
The first time the food was actually good. I enjoyed it. The second time, I didn't really enjoy it much because I could smell the onions cooking (I don't like onions) but I am sure asides from the smell bothering me, that it was good.
Anyhow, for the decor (we will get to food afterwards) I do like the decor of the restaurant, as it is nostalgic. They even painted thier walls, and the degrading/atrocious washroom even had a little touch up (too my surprise they got rid of barred soap and now have liquid soap (at least the very last time I was there) Anyhow, I did give ambiance a 4 star, because I like the nostalgic dinning area, but the washroom gets no more than a 2 (considering they did a little touch up on the washroom)
Anyhow, now for the food. I returned again last year (2008) and what the heck was that thing that you served me which you call food?
Ither the saying which goes "If you are *NOT* proud of it, don't serve it" does NOT apply here, or they have very very very low standards for thier food.
I had come with a friend and I ordered the 2 cheeseburger and fries special, and he had the silver dollar pancakes.
NOTHING WAS DONE RIGHT. The burger was just plain atrocious, even the fries tasted horrible. I tired a bit of my friends pancakes. They were a little bit better that my burger, but still not what I would expect.
How could they mess up so badly on food (even french fries) Yes, I did give value a 4, but only because the price is cheap, but I do NOT believe you get what you pay for here.
Here is something to remember:
If you don't like Denny's, then you will hate this place.
Anyhow, if you are in this area, and want some food, then I would suggest that you got walk the extra block or two and go to 7-Eleven instead. You will be more satisfied by those subs and hamburgers that 7-Eleven has to offer.
All I can say is that Bino's is *NOT* what it used to be, the food (If you want to call it that) is just BLEH!
Ok, I must admit that I usually come here after 9 in the evening, so that probably is a problem. Doughnuts are pretty much stale, they have no baker after 8 (I believe, but definatly no over-night baker)
Why bother being 24 hours if you aren't going to bake at night?
At the very least cross train your night employees, so that way if you run out of doughnuts, OR they are too stale, then he or she can make a few new ones.
At best the doughnuts are just average. Just find another doughnut shop. I recommend Duffins doughnuts on 41st and Knight. I believe they bake all night.
I have been to this chain many times.
Came here tonight with my cousin and one of his friends.
I must say, that I was not impressed tonight with the chicken terryiaki, thier chicken karrage sucks all around (all locations) I must say that I *LOVE* thier Tonkantsu. Thier beef is good, but not great. Not too familiar with sushi, but my cousin and his friend say it could had been fresher.
Service was great though as we paid at the end. Surprised that we had an interesting conversation with the cashiers.
I think I will be back, but if I don't come back I don't think I will be too upset
Ok, it's not the best, but it's pretty darn good.
Thier burgers taste really good, and thier fries are just awesome.
I haven't had any appies thier for years and years, but I would assume that those are great too.
Thier desserts are great, service is usually good. Fries are re-fillable.
I like this restaurant. Good food and good times. This particular White Spot is probably geared towards seniors as it is in the Kerrisdale area, but none the less it is still great even for people in thier 20's and 30's
The only good thing here, is that the prices here are cheap, and you can eat unlimited here for at least 90 minutes.
However, most of the food is disgusting, that you probably wouldn't want to stay here for 90 minutes anyways. it is usually underneath a hot lamp.
The only things that are decent is thier roast beef, and some of thier desserts. The only dessert I find to be above average is thier ice cream (The rest is ither average or below average)
This place used to be good and I used to enjoy it, but obviously thier food is not fresh and as I said, it pretty much tastes like left overs (thier chicken is dry and yucky) I had tried some of thier pasta at one time and that must had come from some other planet.
Before I had craved this place at times, but would always regret coming here afterwards and wishing I ate elsewhere.
I do not plan to return here again. If you have a family and want to dine out for the sake of the children, then I would suggest McDonald's before here.
YUCK!!!!
I know thta they had closed, but heard that they wanted to re-open in another location, so thought a review would be appropriate to leave.
The food is fantastic, of course being a buffett and being all you can eat the value is incredible $17 dinner all you can eat ($22 if you go for the additional items menu) The ambiance is terrific, nice cozy feeling.
The only thing I didn't really like was that they had brought additional items that we had not ordered, but who cares (after all it is a buffet)
If they open another location I will return
Came here last night with a friend of mine. I ordered the Fettucini Carbonara and she ordered a fish burger.
The fettucini was delicious, and I even tried some of my friends fish burger which was really tasty. The price was a little high, but I guess sometimes you have to pay for the atmosphere too. I mean on the menu it costed $6 for hand-cut fries, seriously....how much could it possibly cost them for potatoes?
Anyhow, everything was terrific. We will return
Ok, first of all, I have to admit that the food was decent (nothing special or anything, but just ok) except the dessert, the dessert (coconut pie) was disgusting, heck even the ice cream was not good.
Anyhow, service was just unacceptable. We came here tonight for a friends birthday (12-15 people) Ok, we understand it is Saturday evening, but it's not the first time that ither of us have had a birthday party at a restaurant.
First off, I have an SPC card that Swiss Chalet accepts and I had asked an employee what special they offer, and they told me that I get a free appitizer (IT WAS FALSE INFORMATION)
Secondly, some of us (not me) had to ask for stuff 3 or 4 times before they finally brought it.
The bill toke FOREVER
If was bad enough that it toke forever to come, and I was the first one to pay (credit card) AND they charged everyone's food to my credit card (the restaurant reversed it) but when the manager reverserd it he said "don't leave, you still have to pay for your bill: even though we were there for like 20 minutes while they were correcting this error (oh yeah and as I mentioned earlier, they didn't even take off my appitizer, even though an employee said that that was the deal you get with the SPC card) I got my dessert for free because of this hassle of the credit card thing and having to wait forever, but that didn't cut it.
And to top it off, they accused one of the guests that she hadn't paid her bill because of some mix up (actually one of the other guests paid the birthday boys bill) and because of that they thought that the other girl didn't pay her bill and tried to double charge her, and she was so upset that she cried.
The only place that was worse that this place is Bay Moorings in West Vancouver (The staff at Bay Moorings win the ultimate trophy for bad service)
If you ever see me at ither place again, then I would request that you slap me.
We would have had a much better time had we dined out at Wendy's.
NEVER AGAIN HERE!!!!! NO HOW, NO WAY!!!!!
NEVER AGAIN HERE!!!!
Came here tonight with a friend of mine. I had a double burger with fries and she had a chicken burger. Well.....it was ok. I was satisfied with my meal. The prices seem cheap, but most people I would assume would get fries with thier burger, so it usually only costs a couple dollars less than places like Denny's or IHOP.
I probably will return again, but am in no hurry, though it is a good alternative if you want to save a couple of dollars by coming here rather than those regular restaurant chains
Came here with a friend of mine. I didn't mind the ambiance (in a mall) had my usual....double burger with fries. The food was good, the service was just ok. I had asked how mcuh a juice would cost (waitress said she believed it would be $2.50....it was $2.99) I asked how much an extra patty would cost she said $2.50....it costed $2.99. I also ordered a side mayo....she charged me 0.95 cents without telling me prior that there was a charge.
Food comes....it's good...we enjoyed it. Just was not thrilled that they charged me for a stinky side of mayonaise like the Denny's does in North Vancouver.
Don't think I will rush back to this particular location
2 of my friends and I came here tonight for dinner, and as usual I had a double burger with fries, my friend had a chicken burger with fries while the other had a large soup (all 3 of us also shared the spinach and nacho dip)
As always I enjoyed my food. I ordered my burger plain, but asked for an extra patty and I was happy that my bill was less than it usually is, and the waitress told me that it's not on the menu, but if I order a burger with nothing on it, then it is actually cheaper (don't think the other Milestones did that for me....I was happy)
We will be back
Came here with one of my friends a couple of weeks ago. What else is there really to order besides fish and chips. My friend had one or two pieces of the battered cod fish and I think fries as well, while I had the pan fry fish and fries.
The service wasn't terrible, but nothing to write home about (waited a bit) I must say though that the food tasted really good and we both left happy.
The price? well a little expensive, I think they charge $4.75 for an additional piece of fish if you want another piece (I think $3.50 is what they should really charge)
I'm sure we will be back again.
It has been quite a few years since I have eaten at a Cactus Club. The only reason I decided to go was cause my friend had just gotten her drivers licence and we went to celebrate 2 weeks ago.
The burger that I ordered definatly was fresh and tasted that it had fresh ingridients in the burger (unlike those frozen patties you would get at a Denny's or IHOP) of course when I am going out for dinner I am not really counting calories though.
This place has good food and would say it's has less preservatives than a Dennys and IHOP restaurant.
Conclusion: If you want a health (IER) meal but want to dine out, this is one of the recommended places.
If you just want to save money and don't count calories while going out skip this place.
Came here with a friend a couple weeks ago and got a double burger and fries. We also ordered an appitizer, but can't remember which one now.
I have to admit my burger tasted fresh and good and my friend reported that her food was good. Just find it a little on the pricy side.
Will return but am in no hurry
Came here a few weeks ago with a friend. Food was good, ambiance was great. Just like any other normal IHOP. Service wasn't AS GREAT as most of the other IHOPS are, but all in all was a great experience. Probably would come back again if we are in the New West Minister area, as it's just like any other normal IHOP and IHOP is one of my favourite restaurants
Came here several times. left a good review. Place is still great, except there cheese sticks now are a rip off.
They used to give you 5 big ones, now they give you 6 little ones. Tastes great though. The burger is still awesome and so is the service.
Will come back, but don't order Gooey cheese sticks from them. You will be dissapointed
