I go to Slickity Jims for Breakfast, but my Boyfriend thinks it's too expensive & RAVES about this place saying how cheap it is.
WELL, I was hungry & ordered The Simple Breakfast; 2 Eggs; Bacon, Ham, Sausage, Hash Browns & Toast.
I got 2 Paper Thin slices of each meat that you could almost see through, & 2 Toonie Sized "Sausage Circles" the Hash Browns were out of a McCain Bag previously frozen & they cut a piece of White Rye bread in half for me; THIS COST $12.95.
He got some sort of Pannekoek.
During this meal I commented that maybe I should have ordered The Bratwurst as the meat was not cutting it for me, so he ordered it for me halfway through our meal (we eventually received 2 Tiny Sausages cut down the middle).
At then end our bill came to $34.75.
2 Coffees $5.00
The rest $23.75 NOT PRICELESS.
Why IS the Woman always right?

Maybe it's me; after hearing Raving Reviews by word of mouth, we decided to NOT go to De Dutch one day, & try Paul's Place instead; it was closer to 1pm & we ordered The Special Omelette(Sundried Tomatos/Spinach/Feta); The Greek Delight - NOT.
Unfortunately the Eggs were not cooked, & the Omelette was absolutely TASTELESS, we wondered HOW POSSIBLY with these Ingredients this could be true, but it was.
We were starving & had to make an appointment so we ate it anyway, maybe it was horrible because it was The Special, & they make too many of them in a day; whichever, we do not think we would give it another shot as the bill was $19 before tip.

Walking down Broadway on a Beautiful Sunny Day, we wondered WHERE possibly we could eat & enjoy the Sunshine & Heat at the same time, somewhere besides the usual Corporate Mediocrity that is Earl's/Moxie's/Joeys or The Cactus Club (which is the better of all the evils however); we finally came up with Original Joe's.
After Immense Renovations over the last 3 years, it looked nothing like we remembered it at all; now with Plush Comfortable Seats; Pool Table & certainly enough TV's to see any game, what we were after was the Garden Patio high above Cambie Street (how nice to dine outside without being Abused & Accosted by Street People).
Ths sandwiches were outstanding (Joe's Cabin Club) including Crisp Perfectly Seasoned Fries (Dill Dip a MUST), & a Caesar Salad not delived to you by KRAFT, AND with REAL BACON BITS to boot!
The Bill came to $20 (as we were hydrating), even with all our Sides & Substitutions; we would recommend this restaurant anytime of the day.

Going through the never ending Chinese Take Out Menus collected can be Frustrating & Annoying especially when you are Starving & have an Exact Amount of money to spend.
I took a chance & ended up ordering from this place that had been around for awhile, but that I had never tried before.
The Braised Tofu with Chinese Vegetables was EXACTLY what I was craving & The Potstickers ($5.50 for 8) were some of the best I have ever had (sans Gyoza Sauce however); I received FREE Fried Rice because my purchase was over $20 & the food arrived HOT & quite promptly; I will definately be calling here again.

We ordered Take Out as this Ambiance is lacking in every single way; Ginger Beef & Szechuan Chicken, when we got home we found clearly GLEAMING RED Sweet & Sour Pork (maybe Beef), & some Bland Noodles with 4 pieces of White Meat + MAGGOT; we took the food back & requested a Refund; the Woman refused & then screamed her head off at her Delivery Boy/Husband/Lackey when he told her to give us or $16 back; she continued to refuse us & then threatened to call The Police, of course we were more than happy to wait; unfortunately they never did arrive (go figure), so now we are warning the entire Fairview Community, & allowing everyone in our Neighbourhood to see exactly what a Swift Fix for $5 bucks can really get you.
