Best Thai I've ever had - they also now have a Liquor license

We ate here last night, and I have to say they have the best Thai foor in the lower mainland.
Rumour has it that the owner/chef is from The Thai House chain. We found this to be better than Thai house and others around.
We asked other patrons what they thought and all agreed it was excellent. Thank God I have a decent Thai restaurant to go to.

We recently went to the Acorn on recommendation by a friend. Well, we got there at opening time at 5:30 and by 6PM they had people waiting out the door.
The food was spectacular as was the service. This restaurant is fairly new but sure is making an impact.
It reminded us of another great vegan restaurant in upper West Manhattan called 'Blossom', I was also blown away with what they can do with veggies...Wine and beer were also good.
Also their deserts are right up there. Can get a little cozy with tables all along the one wall, so get there early for one in the middle.
Will definitely return.

We returned after hearing it had reopened from bankruptcy.
Although the prev owner was there, it was not the same
We realized that the prev owner was now the manager
and the food was being made and brought
over from La Spaghhetiria next store.
La spaghetti ria is crap. Their main supplier is Costco.
Thier cheesecake, pastas all Costco.
So needless to say La Rustica was also bad.
Feel sorry for the old owner. Nice man.

This place is a must go to. Chef Ramsey would be very impressed.
As a Vancouverite I must say this place would kick it if it were in Vancouver.
The food: Presentation was awesome, impeccable taste. Try the chicken medallions. My wife's risotto was perfect. Humus, out of this world. Lots for vegetarians to choose from.
The service, well lets put it this way, our waitress stood on broken glass and continued to work with a bad limp, she was always checking on us.
The "Executive" Chef came out to inform another table that the Carmel for their deserts was still on the warm side, while passing our table, he took the time to stop and ask us if everything was OK. You dont see this often. The value, out of this world. And one last thing, the deserts are great, try the chocolate moose with chunks of vanilla cheesecake. you wont be disappointed.
