Great little place for a bite to eat and cocktails!

This great little modern diner was a very pleasant surprise. Good burgers and a nice selection of vegetarian food. The place has a funky feel to it with changing art expositions. Each time were there the place was quite busy and only one waitress served the whole place. The two waitresses that I have seen there always did super well, they were very attentive and quick. I very much recommend their cocktails and mushroom bruscetta...as well as almost all the vegetarian options.

Sala Thai3364 Cambie Street, Vancouver
Overpriced small portions

Naively thinking Salathai might be better than the thai across the street we decided to have pad thai and a red curry at salathai. The food arrived very quickly but the portions were super small. The pad thai was drenched in grease and there was not much to it. The red curry was quite flavorless. We left unsatisfied and hungry.

Hi-Nippon Japanese Restaurant2274 West 4th Avenue, Vancouver
Overpriced and slow

When you are hungry and looking for a quick dinner sushi is always the way to go. We walked by Hi-Nippon and it was reasonably busy, about three quarters of the tables and booths were taken. We were seated right away with tea and menus. The ordering went quick and my miso soup and agadashi tofu arrived promptly; they were great. Then there was the long wait for our rolls.... and our waitress nowhere to be seen to ask for more tea. Once we got the rolls we were pleasantly surprised as they were all 8 pieces instead of 6 but they were no better than average in flavour or freshness. After finishing our meal it again took forever before a waitress came to get the bill. Instead we could see them by the kitchen area massaging each other...
