Portions are large but pointless since food is bland

Looking at other reviews of this place, I was hesitant to try it out but was walking by and decided to take out a few dishes for dinner. The manager is friendly and it took less than 10 minutes, but unfortunately, they forgot to add flavor to the Spicy Beef with Curry Peanut Sauce or the Mee Goreng that I ordered. There was no recognizable flavor to these dishes based on what I know of curry or peanut sauce. And the Mee Goreng tasted like bad pad thai with ketchup. Disappointing results but seems to be the consensus from other reviews posted about this restaurant. Now I personally know better than to eat here again.

We live nearby so we finally tried it for take out with the lunch menu. Food portions are small, taste is bland. The pad thai tasted like an out of the box kits they sell in grocery stores. Overall, disappointing. With all the Thai options available in the city, I suggest you go elsewhere like Sawasdee on Main or Thai Terrace for takeout.

It was a wonderful surprise to have an authentic thai meal at Tang Thai. The portions were large, the prices were decent and the service was warm and friendly. The flavors were quite distinctive and the panang curry is noteworthy, as is the Buddha vegetable dish. I am glad to have this new restaurant in the neighborhood and we will definitely go back.
