I’ve been to the Park Royal (West Vancouver) White Spot restaurant numerous times. Whether its breakfast, lunch, or dinner, the food is usually above-satisfactory at this location, as expected from all White Spot restaurants. However, the poor service is something I noticed more consistently over the past few years, and it was highlighted from my recent visit.
When my guest and I waited for a host/hostess, the bartender and waitresses on duty made no effort to great us, let alone acknowledged that a host/hostess would be arriving. After waiting at least three minutes and noticing a handful of empty set tables, I had to approach a waitress myself… she told me that a hostess would be arriving shortly. After another two minutes had passed, a hostess finally entered the lobby with no enthusiasm, and looked directly past my guest and I as if we were ghosts. She asked a couple standing directly behind us if they had been assisted or not. After finally taking my name, the hostess rudely stated that “it will not take too much longer” for a table, while my guest and I saw various empty tables still available.
It would’ve been literally faster for me to get a couple of burgers at a White Spot Triple O’s restaurant, than to wait for a table at the Park Royal restaurant. If I decide to ever go back to this restaurant, I hope to see staff that have a little more common-sense and enthusiasm.
