I come to this bakery often to fulfill the "bakery void" created when I came back to Canada from 2 wonderful vacations in France. The review below is true, things are pricey and not made on site, but I don't mind paying a little extra for my french bakery fix. There is only one other good french bakery in Vancouver that I know of (on Granville Island). Anyways, I love the Boulangerie's panini sandwiches, fruit mousse cups, cookies, and ALL of the croissants. Very delicious and VERY French tasting :)
Lucky for me I live just a few blocks away from this great little bakery. They bake everything fresh and are open early in the morning. Pasteries are delicious, pies and breads are good too. Tried a sandwhich the other day and it was awesome (real turkey breast!).
Oh, and the kitchen is in plain sight of the customer, which I love :)
Thumbs up for this place... Section 3 is always busy and loud - good for a younger, trendy crowd. The food is pretty darn good :) i end up here at least once a month. I will definitley be back soon.
Sip is a good place to go with friends for drinks and a bite to eat before you head to the bar. The beer fries are FAB. The food, otherwise, is pretty good, but could be better. it is the ambience that I really enjoy. Usually a sophisticated, young crowd. A bit of yaletown on the granville strip ;)
Since I go to school half a block away, i have found myself at Lupo's on more than a few occassions. The panini's are quite delicious. However, I can't get over how un-sanitary the place is. After seeing the guy who is usually behind the counter touch his hair, handle money, then pick up my sandwich without washing his hands more than once, I won't be returning - even if it is convienient. Very slow service, also.
After hearing so many great things about C my family and I had to go check it out. My mother and I were not impressed with the food, although my father liked it. My tuna came cooked all the way through??? Um....Not what I expected.
