After I got over the noise level and feeling like a little insignificant fly in a big room, I noticed all the staff walking around real fast and doing much of nothing. Just walking fast, around and around and around, yet I couldn't get anyones attention for another drink. The food was bland and made by someone who doesn't care and I said the last time that I would never return and I mean it this time.
We live in Poco, but will go out of our way for years to go to Sunrise because we have never been disappointed. The lasagne is the best I've ever had and the side order of fried mushrooms is a must if you order the steak. Gordie the cook/owner has been there for many many years and works his butt off to give every dish his best. If you are looking for good solid food, decent prices and an unpretentious and relaxing atmosphere, then this is the place to visit.
If you haven't been to KC's since August 2007, it is time to return. The new owner cares and it shows. I felt welcome and treated like a regular plus the breakfast was decent foor for a decent price. I hope I'm not too busy to make this place will be my new weekly habit. The customers coming and going were all smiling.
I ordered a quesadillas for dinner a few months back and after eating 3/4 of it I came across a label on the underside of the tortilla. It was the expiry label. IT HAD EXPIRED 2 DAYS EARLIER. The manager wouldn't even come out to talk to me but sent free icecream. I've never been back.
I have gone the Pallas Athena 7-8 times in the last year and I love the place. I feel welcome and spoiled. The lamb is cooked to perfection, and the salad is really crisp and fresh. The staff are the most friendly and courteous bunch that I have ever had the pleasure of dining with and I recommend them to everyone.
