The food does not reflect the expense.

Minerva's: Come back to Earth!! Lukewarm, middling greek food should not be in the 20 dollar range for an entree. You are serving mall food to seniors. But, alas, you are packed every night, so obviously your formula is working. Service is brisk and slightly school-marmish. Time for a new pizza crust recipe - trust me, the crust you are using is famously bad.

Great WonTon Soup
Submitted Sunday, December 14, 2008 - 11:19am [Dine in]

This clean and cheerful spot has really nice WonTon soup and a decent Vietnamese chicken salad. The homemade chili sauce is outstanding and DeeDee, the owner is a sweetheart. My only complaints are the cheesy music and you have to wait for, and then request the bill - every time. It's like: "okay, I'm finished, you've cleared the plates, we're all done here..... so how about the bill????" Otherwise, a solid lunch spot.

Umm, may I have some Tea with my Tea?
Submitted Sunday, December 14, 2008 - 11:14am [Dine in]

This gorgeous little spot in Kerrisdale has great decor and awesome looking food - it's just that I ordered the wrong thing. I ordered the "petit tea" and it was absolutely pathetic. 2 miniscule sandwiches that were stone freezing cold (obviously had been made in the morning and kept in the fridge) A freezing, soggy croissant the size of a thimble is not exactly great value at 13 bucks. It came with a choice of 2 sweets and a pot of tea - that I had to ask for twice. Meanwhile, the people who shelled out an outrageous 24 bucks were getting tiered platters of the most incredible looking food. Moral of the story, order the soup and fresh made sandwiches. Looks like the best value.
