Great burger place wrapped in a greasy spoon wrapper. Place was empty on a Friday night at 6:30 when I arrived. I was a little nervous, as the place looks a little beat up and the fact there was no one else there was not a good sign. My son and I ordered the A Special - burger with bacon/cheese + fries+ coke for $5.95. The burger arrived and all my fears evaporated - hand made burger, well spiced, with all the fixings, and a great toasted bun. Delicious. The fries were good too, and the pop is cold. I was very happy. Way better than Micky D's, Wendy's, or A&W....and better than some of the "custom" burgers..I'd say about equivalent to Vera's, but humble and inexpensive. Next time I'm in New West I will be having a Burger Burger!

I went to Splitz with high hopes. I am a burger lover as are my nephew and my son. We arrived, thinking the place looked ok, we went through the kind of confusing ordering process (like Subway a little) and then waited for our order. Two of us ordered the bison burger, while my son ordered the regular beef burger. In short, my nephew thought his was ok. I thought mine was a salt lick. Almost inedible, I tried to choke it back, but gave up. My son ate 1/2 his, but thought something tasted funny. Both myself and my nephew gave it a bite too - seriously gross. Like rotten, or cooked in rancid lard, or a disgusting mix of spices...I'm not sure. Oh, and I had a greek salad....commercial, with cubes of flavorless feta. The fries were good, and they have beer, so not a total loss. Seriously, try it if you like, but at least post a review once you try it - I can't believe anyone could enjoy this, and I am the opposite of fussy.
